This time of the year always makes many think about everything for which they are thankful I am constantly giving thanks for all my blessings, big or small. Still, there are times we get caught up with our day-to-day and forget that even though we are not perfect individuals, we are works in progress, and as long as we are striving for better, then we are halfway there to the finish line because failing has never been an option for myself
I do beat myself up sometimes, but I have much more to smile about than frown, and I am THANKFUL!

In entertainment news, many have been following the charges surrounding Sean Combs, and you have not heard any celebrities willingly discuss the matter, even though we have seen many of our favorite celebrities in pictures with Combs over the years. Remember when Wendy Williams would discuss all of these accusations, and everyone called her a hater or even attempted to blackball her as she was removed from NYC radio and was in Philly for a few years? I saw then that Diddy was a powerful man Do I know Diddy personally no? But I know many who do and have worked for him, and in one particular case, when she was no longer being used and abused by him, she was then labeled a liar, thief, and not someone people should work with when she was his assistant
People have wanted to talk about what they experienced, but due to fear, they have not. I saw Mark Curry try to warn people in his book Dancing With The Devil, but he was blackballed and could not secure a traditional publishing deal when these novels would usually be best sellers. Because of the power Sean Combs once possessed, Mark was left to self-publish, and being a self-published author myself is not a bad thing, BUT you get what I am saying. For many years, Sean Combs would make people's dreams come true and turn your vision into a living nightmare. He could relate as he, too, had been controlled by the same people. If you think about it, all celebrities are puppets to people of power, and the question is often asked how bad you want to make it and what you are willing to sacrifice for it. No, I am not talking about time and money; it is deeper than that.

Who are these people in power? I cannot list names, but they are compelling people who pull many strings from afar. Kanye West stated that he could not be controlled, but Beyonce and Jay Z were being controlled. "Michael Jordan sacrifîced his father, and Dr. Dre sacrifîced his son. When you're in Hollywood, you sacrifîce a lot so that they can give you the money and power and then control you."
So, ultimately, Kanye West decided to take their power. He had to take control of the situation. He realized that God was the only person who could control him. and he felt a lot of guilt Kanye West carries due to his mother not being alive nor he being able to grieve her death correctly. He thought that she was sacrificed once he was no longer going to be able to be controlled and gave his power to God, and that is when they attempted to take everything away from him His net worth decreased briefly after Forbes reported that Kanye West was only worth 400 million dollars. Still, the real gem is that his faith in God increased because of his belief that Jesus is King and loves him, and as long as God is on his side, it does not matter what trouble may come his way because he now has faith in a higher power.

In this day and age, plenty of us think about what our children are going to be like when they become adults. We wonder what careers our kids will go into and if they can leave a legacy that will ensure they’re never forgotten. Some of us will even dream about our kids one day doing what we did or once did as a career choice. But I’d be lying if I said that I knew many people who would imagine being able to stand side by side with the next generation in their family while they embark on their new journey. Imagination has officially become a reality in the legendary world of LeBron James and his son Bronny
Any fan of the NBA knows who LeBron James is. From his electrifying days in high school to being drafted into the NBA, signing a record-breaking rookie Nike deal, and becoming a part of the never-ending debate of who the greatest of all time is. For the last 20-plus years, LeBron has been a part of barbershop talk in just about every neighborhood known to man. Although we could never imagine being able to watch our kids step into a new profession while we stand at the top of it simultaneously, it has been a dream of LeBron’s ever since his son stepped into high school.
The minute Bronny stepped into Sierra Canyon School as a freshman in 2019, the expectations were through the roof. Little did he and his father know then that would be a recurring theme. Bronny averaged 14 points and five rebounds by his senior year, leading his team to a 23-11 record. He was also selected to become a 2023 McDonalds All American. That is when the conversation started about Bronny joining his father in the NBA.
As the NBA would serve it, LeBron was the one who lit the fuse on that bomb. While speaking to the media, Bron said he wanted to play professional basketball with his son. Little did he know his aspirations would cause the media and fans to dissect his son’s every move. Instead of declaring for the NBA draft NBA out of high school, Bronny decided to go to USC. That’s when things took a turn for the James family. On July 23rd, 2023, Bronny collapsed during practice. It would be determined that cardiac arrest due to a congenital heart defect would be the cause This would be enough for any family to press the brakes on plans. But this situation caused Bronny to push even harder.

After making a full recovery and starting in the final 25 games of the season, Bronny’s freshman season ended, and he had a new decision. Either stay in college or finally declare for the NBA draft, as his decision didn’t matter. Bronny would have the full support of his family. Ultimately, Bronny decided it was time for him to get to the next level.
The 55th pick in the 2nd round of the 2024 draft was called, and his name was Bronny James. He officially became an NBA player; that’s the end of a great story. Nope, this is only the beginning. The theme of expectations came back multiplied by 1000. Fans either loved the idea of Bronny playing with his dad, worried that he couldn’t live up to the hype, or didn’t care because they already hated him. Bronny was scrutinized in every direction from the moment he took a picture in his official Lakers uniform.
The season started last month, so we’ve yet to see if the scrutiny is proper or just another thought of hate towards the James family. Despite that, LeBron’s dream has already been accomplished. On October 6th, LeBron finally stepped on an NBA floor with his son and played as teammates for the Lakers in a pre-season game. Although nobody knows how successful Bronny’s rookie season will be, another message here must be explored. As parents, we all have dreams and visions of our children’s future. But, with the right amount of support and love, the sky is the only limit for that child’s future.

One subject that everybody speaks about in this life is work ethic. Whether you work a regular old 9 to 5 or you work for a Fortune 500 company with a work ethic, it's going to be easier for everyone to have a smooth existence in this world. As a Black male life coach, I've seen firsthand how self-care can be a game-changer for mental health, especially in our community. Too often, we're taught to be strong, to push through, and to put others before ourselves But let me tell you, my brothers and sisters, that taking care of your mental health isn't a luxury it's a necessity.
Self-care isn't just about spa days or meditation (though those can be great). It's about recognizing your worth and taking intentional steps to protect your peace This can mean setting boundaries, saying "no" to additional commitments, or simply taking a moment to breathe when life gets overwhelming. It's about acknowledging that your mental health matters and that taking care of it doesn't make you weak it makes you wise, and better yet, it keeps you strong and healthy.
In our community, we face unique stressors: systemic racism, economic pressures, and the expectation to be "strong" all the time These challenges can take a toll on our mental health. That's why self-care is so crucial. It's a form of resistance against a world that often doesn't prioritize our well-being. Whether through therapy, exercise, spending time with loved ones, or pursuing a hobby, self-care helps us recharge and face these challenges with renewed strength
Remember, kings and queens, self-care is not selfish—it's essential. According to the American Cancer Society, "Over the last 30 years, the risk of dying from cancer has steadily declined, sparing some 4 million lives in the United States. Cancer incidence, however, is on the rise for many common cancers. In the coming year, we're expecting to hit a bleak milestone the first time new cases of cancer in the U.S. are expected to cross the 2-million mark. That's almost 5,500 cancer diagnoses a day."
With the upsurge in cancer cases and the harsh side effects that radiation and chemotherapy treatments pose, there has been a significant rise in the search for alternatives to traditional cancer treatments, and essential oils are gaining the most attention.
Essential oils are natural oils extracted from plants using a distillation process. Once extracted, the oils possess the aroma of the plant from which it was extracted. Essential oils are used for healing and wellness through inhalation or topical application. Aromatherapy is a healing practice that goes back centuries. Diffusion is the most popular method for inhaling essential oils. This process involves using a diffuser that creates a vapor to distribute a combination of essential oil and water for inhalation. Topical application means that the oils are applied directly to the skin for absorption. As essential oils are highly concentrated, most essential oils should be diluted with a carrier (a benign oil, lotion, or water) before topical application.
