Gentlemen, we are so proud of you, your families and your accomplishments.

Greetings,
It is with esteemed pleasure to congratulate the seventeen Divinely Brilliant Beaux of the 2024 Beautillion Militaire. These distinguished young men have really shown themselves approved through their exceptional hard work and dedication throughout this Beautillion season. Honestly, when asked to support the Beautillion back in 2023 I didn’t quite realize what I was saying yes to I thought that I would be imparting wisdom and making an impact on the beaux, not realizing how much impact they would have on me. This labor of love allowed my heart to be expanded to allow room for 17 young black men whom I previously did not know, grow and develop right before my eyes.
It has been an amazing yet a very humbling journey to watch these young men go from perfect strangers to now true brothers, I’m truly honored to have played a part in this role. These past nine months, the beaux have participated in community service events, travelled a great distance to attend a college fair, Battle of Bands, cooked and worshipped together, just to name a few. In such a short time they have built a wonderful camaraderie; to witness their witty sense of humor, to hear them articulate their thoughts and to see them share their talents has truly been a blessing They all have so much to offer this world. Beaux, remember, “Every great dream begins with a dreamer Always remember, you have within you strength, the patience and the passion toreachforthestarstochangetheworld.”–HarrietTubman.
Lastly, I would like to thank you parents for trusting in us to pour into your children as they voyage into the next phase in life. Thank you for investing your time and resources to help them grow into the confident young men that they have become A special thank you to all the mentors and the community leaders who have played a special part in the lifelong impact of each respective Beau I would be remiss not to say thank you to my sister and friend, co-chair Mom Monique Rountree who held me down in areas where I may have fallen short. We worked tirelessly to make sure our adopted young men had quality programming and a real loving experience Thank Chapter President and Chair Nedra Fortson for allowing us to experience such a joyous occasion. Finally, to all the Jack and Jill of America Inc , mothers and fathers who stood in the gaps to ensure the rights of passage process for each beau, it is with sincere appreciation for all youreffortsthatIpersonallysaythankyou.
Sincerely,
Salutations,
On behalf of the Amazing Albany Georgia Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. and the 2024 Beautillion Club Committee, it is my utmost pleasure that I welcome you to the 22nd Biennial Beautillion Militaire Gala First and foremost, I want to congratulate each of our Divinely Brilliant Beaux for their hard work and dedication to the process leading up to this exceptional event I also want to extend my gratitude and appreciation to the parents that invested in this experience and entrusted my leadership abilities and effortsinmakingthisanastounding, yetvaluableexperiencefortheirsons.
So here we are. I started this experience with two sons and one daughter, and now as I pass the baton, I end this experience with nineteen sons and one daughter My beau friends you have made me proud in every way! To experience the growth and brotherly bonds you all have built with each other has been truly a humbling experience I have no doubt in my mind that all seventeen of you will go on and do great things. As the young black beautiful African American men that you now are, the road may be get treacherous There may be trials, tribulations, and roadblocks, but remember this quote by the incomparable Shirley Chisolm, “If they don’t give you a seat at the table, bring in a folding chair” I want each of you to stand in your purpose Take with you on your road to success the lessons learned during your mentorship programs and uphold the leadership skills and qualities you all have gained by your mentors. I want you to continue valuing the importance of community and volunteer service and never forget to lend a helping hand. Lastly, as you look back over this process, remember the fellowshipping between each of you and your Beau brothers, and recall the laughs and smilesweallsharedaswewentthroughthisunforgettableexperience.
Inclosing,IwanttothanktheAlbanyGeorgiaChapterofJackandJillofAmerica,Inc for investing your trust in me for making this extraordinary event a memorable one for our 2024BeautillionClubinductees Fortheyareall“DivinelyBrilliantandOurFuture”!

The late Marion Stubbs Thomas founded Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated, on January 24, 1938, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Twenty mothers came together to discuss creating an organization to provide social, cultural and educational opportunities for youth between the ages of 2 and 19. In 1946, 10 chapters were involved in the national restructuring process. The constitution and bylaws were drawn up, and the organization was incorporated under the laws of the state of Delaware. Nellie Roulhac, Albany Chapter's Founding President in 1950, was the 5th National President of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. National President Kornisha McGill Brown (Columbus, GA Chapter) serves as the current National President and is responsible for the national direction of seven geographical regions across the country, which comprise 262 chapters, representing more than 50,000 active and engaged family members
Regional History of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated
In 1948 the idea of dividing the organization into a regional structure was initially put before the members at the Third Annual meeting of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated held in Washington, D.C. In 1957, at the Annual Convention held in San Francisco, the Regional Plan was fully adopted Today there are seven regions which comprise Jack and Jill of America Takeysha Lewis is the current Southeastern Regional Director under whom the Albany, GA Chapter serves
Albany, GA Chapter History of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated
Mrs. Nellie G. Roulhac, a native of Philadelphia, who was then an English instructor at Albany State College, was aware of the noble beginnings and great works of the national organization. Mrs. Roulhac had a dream and a desire that such an opportunity could be made available for the children of the Deep South Her dream came true in the Spring of 1950 when she was instrumental in getting fifteen mothers to meet at her home for the purpose of organizing the first Albany Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated. It was at her home that the mothers were informed and committed to the objectives and aims of the national organization. They remain the same today,"To help parents and the spiritual, cultural, educational, recreational and social needs of their children, and to contribute to the community." Nedra Fortson serves as the current Albany Chapter President.
In 1966, the organization created its own foundation, The Jack and Jill of America Foundation, which was incorporated under the laws of the State of Illinois, January 1968. The Foundation has been responsible for the origin and funding of a large number of educational and charitable projects benefiting the young. Aside from the Foundation, the chapters are responsible for assisting and promoting local charities and programs. The Albany, GA community will benefit from the proceeds raised for Beautillion 2024.
Through the years, Jack and Jill of America, Inc has made large contributions to other organizations and projects, namely: the Hungry of Ethiopia through Africare, The United Negro College Fund, PUSH, and The Martin Luther King Center for Social Change, NAACP Legal Defense Fund, Mental Health for Children, the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis, Research for Rheumatic Fever and others.

Out of the night that covers me, Black as the pit from pole to pole, I thank whatever gods may be For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud. Under the bludgeonings of chance My head is bloody, but unbowed. Beyond this place of wrath and tears Looms but the Horror of the shade, And yet the menace of the years Finds and shall find me unafraid. It matters not how strait the gate, How charged with punishments the scroll, I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul.
We are proud of you Daniel. Your future is full potential.
