WISCONSIN SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL The Wisconsin Shakespeare Festival believes in the power of words and the stories they tell. Our exuberant celebration of brilliant theatre seeks to ignite a spark to empower and inspire artists, as well as enlighten and connect audiences and the community.

Our Festival is built on the values of engagement, growth, creativity, and community and has five major components: presenting quality mainstage shows, elevating playwrights and their ideas through our Improbable Fiction new works series, creating mentorship opportunities for aspiring artists in our Merely Players young performers’ troupe, supporting lifelong education initiatives with our classes and workshops for those K-12 and beyond, and engaging with our local theatre community and the community at large.

We are committed to celebrating theatre and our community through our programs and partnerships, and want this Festival to feel as though it belongs as much to as our neighbors and partners as it does to us. We sincerely thank you for engaging with us through attending this performance!

A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM One of William Shakespeare’s classic comedies, A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a story of order and disorder, reality and appearance, and love and marriage.

“The course of true love never did run smooth,” and when the feuding king and queen of the fairies interfere in the mercurial romances of mortals, the result is magical mayhem. Leave it to the roguish Puck, impish fairies, young lovers, and bumbling would-be actors to create pure pandemonium!

A Midsummer Night’s Dream is one of Shakespeare’s most popular comedies and contains Shakespeare’s usual innuendo. The play is suitable for all audiences.

WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST LUCY ADAMS (Mote) is so excited to be in A Midsummer Night’s Dream! They graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy this past May and plan to attend Marymount Manhattan College in the fall as an acting major. They first caught the theatre bug when they were 3, as a mouse in Cinderella’s Glass Slipper. Lucy has attended Humphrey’s School of Musical Theatre and Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. Some of their favorite roles include Olive in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, June in Gypsy, Beth in Little Women, and Elle Woods in Legally Blonde. When they’re not onstage they enjoy reading, buying grossly expensive coffee, and destroying the patriarchy. They would like to thank the cast & crew for all their support and Caitlin for this wonderful opportunity. Enjoy the show!

MOLLY J. BARNES (Starveling) moved to Eau Claire years ago after finishing a BA in Theatre at Loyola University of Chicago. She’s been in productions with CVTG (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof; Vania and Sonia and Masha and Spike; Almost, Maine), Downstage Left Theatre Company (The Amish Project, God of Carnage), and toured Wisconsin in the first stage production of Population: 485. Molly also directs student plays and teaches English and Dramatic Arts at Chippewa Falls High School. Favorite pursuits outside of theatre include long distance running and cooking for friends and family.

DALTON CADE CAUSEY (Flute) is an actor from Dothan, Alabama. He is a recent graduate from The University of Alabama where he earned a BFA in Theatre with a Concentration in Acting.

Some of his previous credits include: Luke (Orion and the Goatman), Jason/Tyrone (Hand to God), Sam (The Flick), Doctor Watson (Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery), Crutchie (Newsies), and Milky White Puppeteer (Into the Woods).

He has also written and staged two original works, Go Girl North and The Gobble Gamble Pardon Party, and will stage his third, When Fern Caught Fire, this fall. KRISTEN THERESE CHUA (Hermia) is thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part of her first Shakespeare show among the cast of Midsummer! Originally from Peoria, AZ, Kristen is a recent graduate of Oklahoma City University (OCU) where she received her BFA in Acting and minors in Psychology and English. Her recent credits from OCU include: Meg in A Lie of the Mind, Farrah in She Kills Monsters, and Amy in 6

Six Years Old. Special thanks to her parents for always believing in her and being forever supportive of her pursuit in performing arts! She hopes you enjoy the show, or rather, have a sweet dream!

ROSE DOLAN-NEILL (Quince) is an Eau Claire native with a long history of performance with the Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild and BareBones Ensemble Theatre. Favorite roles include Veronica in God of Carnage, Shelby in Steel Magnolias, and Catherine in Proof. Rose studied theatre at the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire before being accepted into Gregory Ablels Training Ensemble in New York where she studied classical theatre in performance with an emphasis on styles in acting. Rose is thrilled to work with the talented and enthusiastic team for the inaugural production of the Wisconsin Shakespeare Festival.

AIDAN EDWARDS (Mustardseed/Fight Captain) is thrilled to be making his professional debut with WSF’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream! He is a rising sophomore pursuing a BFA in Acting with an MT Concentration/ Dance Minor from Wright State University in Dayton, OH. Collegiate performance credits: On the Town (Ensemble), Dog Sees God (Matt), and how rainbows are born—an original dance play (Boy/Man). Technical Credits Include: Bright Star (ASM) and The Last Five Years (Lighting Designer). Aidan has also served as the Choreographer/Fight Choreographer for various Children’s, High School, and Community Theatres on the Southside of Chicago. In the fall, he will be performing in Wright State’s production of Cabaret as Bobby/Understudy Emcee. Insta: @acedwards04 DYLAN HEARLEY (Snout) hails from Oshkosh, WI and is a recent graduate from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point BFA Musical Theatre program, where he played roles such as Otto in Spring Awakening, Herr Schulz in Cabaret, and Jack in Into the Woods. Though not a life-long lover of Billy Shakes, Dylan has rapidly developed a fondness for Shakespeare from their “bardolator” partner, Emily Ruth, and can’t wait to do more. When not on the stage, Dylan is an avid music listener, Yu-Gi-Oh! player, and gaming enthusiast, their most recent addiction being the new Legend of Zelda game: Tears of the Kingdom. If you see Dylan walking down the street, don’t be afraid to strike up a conversation!

They’d love to meet some new faces, as well as talk your ear off about any nerdy subject you’re interested in. They encourage you to sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!

WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST REED HICKERSON (Demetrius) is thrilled to be a part of his first professional Shakespeare production! Born and raised in St. Charles, Illinois, he is heading into his third year of Ohio University’s BFA Acting track, as well as completing an Actor- Musicianship Certificate in percussion. Past productions include Vibrancy Theater’s Yerma (Male/Victor US), Ohio University’s Julius Caesar (Flavius/ Plebeian), Tantrum Theater’s Natasha, Pierre, & the Great Comet of 1812 (Percussion Actor-Musician), and St. Charles North’s Much Ado About Nothing (Benedick). Catch him as the Messenger in Ohio University’s upcoming production of Medea!

CHANDLER MURRAY (Puck) is absolutely thrilled to be making his professional debut with the Wisconsin Shakespeare Festival! Chandler is a rising senior currently attending Northern Kentucky University pursuing a BFA in theater performance along the acting track. Some of his favorite previous credits include Peter and the Starcatcher (Boy/Peter), Cabaret (Texas), Tuck Everlasting (Jesse Tuck), and Newsies (Crutchie).

His Shakespeare credits include Twelfth Night (Priest, Ensemble) and A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Flute). Chandler is very excited to be tackling the role of Puck in this production, as it’s been a dream role of his for years. LAUREN ROSEMURGY (Helena) is a recent graduate of UW–Eau Claire and currently lives in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Since graduating, Lauren has worked on many film and theatre projects, including a feature on “I Was There,” a History Channel series. Other film projects include Punch Me, Avelina, Season’s Greetin’s, and Bound in Rosemary. Lauren has also performed as Annelle in Steel Magnolias (Masquers Theatre), as well as Juliet in Romeo and Juliet (Minnesota Renaissance Festival). She has also recently finished directing a short film that she has written, titled Stark White, which was filmed right here in Eau Claire! She would like to thank her wonderful partner, Zack, her family, especially April, John, and Jack, and all of her fabulous and creative friends for being so supportive and wacky and making her into the goofball she is today. Laurenrosemurgy.com EMILY RUTH (Bottom) is a self-proclaimed bardolator and is thrilled to be involved with the Wisconsin Shakespeare Festival! As an Eau Claire native, they fell in love with Shakespeare the summer before their freshman year of high school, across the river from the Pablo Center, making their professional debut here even more meaningful. In the fall, she will be returning to UW–Stevens Point where they are pursuing a BFA in acting with minors in music and arts management. Once there, they will be hitting the ground running as the dramaturg and assistant director for a staged reading of Spoon River Anthology. Some of their favorite past roles include Celimene in The Misanthrope, Enid Hoopes in Legally Blonde, and Kate in The Taming of the Shrew. She is incredibly grateful to her family, friends, and her partner for supporting her in everything she does!

JACOB SIMMONS (Lysander) is very excited to be a part of the inaugural Wisconsin Shakespeare Festival with Pablo Center. Originally from Covington, Louisiana, Jacob is currently pursuing his BFA in Musical Theatre from Ohio University.

Other Shakespeare credits include Hamlet (Polonius) and Romeo and Juliet (Sampson). This fall he will be in Twelfth Night (Antonio) with Tantrum Theatre in Athens, Ohio. Most recently he has been in Ride The Cyclone (Mischa) and Carrie: The Musical (Stokes, Billy u/s). He would like to thank Caitlin Lopez and Pablo Center for this incredible opportunity, as well as, his parents for their support of his totally economically secure career choices!

JT STOCKS (Theseus/Oberon) currently lives in London, England with his wife. There he appeared at the Tower Theatre as Basanio in Merchant of Venice and the Player King/Marcelus in Hamlet. Regionally in the U.S., JT worked at the CONT. 7

WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST Cincinnati Playhouse as part of the Bruce E. Coyle Acting Intern Company. There he performed in The Last Firefly, Pinocchio, A Christmas Carol and Treasure Island. JT is a graduate of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting where he performed as Touchstone in As You Like It. He also graduated from UW–Eau Claire with a B.S. in Biology and Theatre Arts. This will be his second time appearing in A Midsummer Night’s Dream in Eau Claire. He originally performed as Lysander in UWEC’s 2013 production of the play.

IZ WALSH (Peaseblosom) is very excited to be making their professional acting debut with the Wisconsin Shakespeare Festival! Originally from Eleva, Wisconsin, Iz is pursuing a degree in Musical Theater at UW–Stevens Point. They are a proud alumnus of Wisconsin School Music Association’s All State Treble Honors Choir, as well as the Dorian Vocal Festival at Luther College. Iz has also trained with Shell Lake Arts Center’s Musical Theatre Camp for 7 years. Iz enjoys participating in theatre and musical theatre, including numerous productions with the Chippewa Valley Theatre Guild and the Eau Claire Children’s Theater here in Eau Claire. Recently they have been seen as The Son in The Trail to Oregon, and Jane in Tarzan: The Musical, the latter of which earned them a Jerry Award Nomination. In their free time Iz also enjoys cooking and baking, taking care of their cat and their lizard, playing the clarinet, and spending a little too much time playing The Sims.

He is originally from Birmingham, AL. He is so excited to be a part of this inaugural season of the Wisconsin Shakespeare Festival! You can also find Christopher in the Festival’s Merely Players Troupe this summer. His previous credits include: Dominique Morisseau’s Blood at the Root (De’Andre), George C. Wolfe’s The Colored Museum (Guy, Waiter, Narrator, Flo’rance) and Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in the Sun (Joseph Asagai). TIM WOLLMAN (Egeus/Snug) grew up locally in Chippewa Falls before going to the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire for college. He recently graduated this past January with a degree in Theatre Arts, having performed and worked on numerous productions including The Tempest, House of Blue Leaves, and Waiting for Godot. Tim 8

is honored and excited to be performing in this inaugural season of the Wisconsin Shakespeare Festival for his first production outside of college, and hopes it’s the first step of many for the future.

Otherwise, Tim can usually be seen at the box office desk or watching over the lobby of Pablo Center or strolling the paths through Eau Claire.

CAITLIN LOPEZ (Director) is the Co-founder and former Associate Artistic Director of Ophelia’s Jump Productions (OJP) in Southern California.

She is thrilled to be directing the inaugural production of the Wisconsin Shakespeare Festival, and has been so grateful for the wonderful cast and crew that have brought this show to life. As a lifelong improviser, she has performed and taught regularly at OJP and as a former company member with Spectacles Improv Engine. She specializes in improvised narrative genre work with teams such as Community Theater 3000 and The Blankety Blank. A graduate of California State University San Bernardino, she is currently pursuing her MFA in Directing at Ohio University (OU).

Select directing credits include The Secretaries (OU), Pericles (OJP), Hedwig and the Angry Inch (OJP), Stop Kiss (7th Street) The Compleat Wrks of Wilm Shkspr Abridged (OJP), Much Ado About Nothing (OJP), and 33 Variations (OJP).

AMANDA PROFAZIER (Costume Designer) is currently a Professor of Costume Design in the Department of Music and Theatre Arts at the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire. She received her MFA in Costume Design from Utah State University in 2006. Amanda is excited to be a part of the Wisconsin Shakespeare Festival’s debut season. She has designed costumes for the Utah Festival Opera, the Old Lyric Repertory Company, and The Grand Theatre. She has also worked as a costume shop technician for the Utah Shakespearean Festival, Pioneer Theatre Company, and served as a design assistant with NBC’s Saturday Night Live. Some of Amanda’s favorite designs include: The Pirates of Penzance, Sweeney Todd, West Side Story, Don Giovanni, James and the Giant Peach, King Lear, Seussical the Musical, and Medea. Amanda and her husband, Landon, have two beautiful daughters; Ruby, who is sixteen, and Pearl, who is 12. Other members of the Profaizer family are a 90-pound goldendoodle named Penny and two kittens named Mittens and Fish. Amanda would like to thank her husband, Landon, for his endless love and encouragement over the past 22 years and her family, friends, and colleagues for their incredible support. #LivingTheDream

WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST ERIN HISEY (Lighting Designer) is the Associate Professor of Scenic and Lighting Design at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. In addition to teaching she designs scenery and lighting for theatre companies and schools around the US. Recent credits include lighting for the opera Orpheus in the Underworld and the musical Mamma Mia!, scenic and lighting design for The Wolves and The Bald Soprano, and scenic design for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. She is excited to be a part of the inaugural season of the Wisconsin Shakespeare Festival here at Pablo Center at the Confluence.

CHRISTOPHER KURTZ (Sound Designer) is an Eau Claire-based designer originally from Bolingbrook, Illinois. He most recently designed lights for Confluence Dance right here in the JAMF theatre. In 2021 he worked on CVTG’S Godspell as sound engineer also in the JAMF. He designed lights, sound, and projections for the Eau Claire Children’s Theatre for the 29th and 30th (anniversary) seasons. Before coming to Eau Claire he received a Master of the Arts in Post production with Sound Design from the University of York in England. Earlier theatre credits include Sound Designer/Composer for Salome with Scena in Washington D.C., and Sound Designer for Red Hot Patriot with Lyric Stage in Boston, MA. His voice was featured in 2021 SciFi Film Deus. He works full time in the production department at Pablo Center.

KATHY VOECKS (Scenic Designer) has been designing for over 25 years, with sets for theatres including The Black Hills Playhouse, The Blue Barn Theatre, Circa ’21 Dinner Playhouse, The Omaha Theatre Company, and The Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center Theatre. She is also an educator and will be joining the faculty of the Jeanine Larson Dobbins Conservatory of Theatre and Dance at Southeast Missouri State University in the fall; previously she was a faculty member in the School of Music, Theatre and Dance at Kansas State University. She’s also a scenic artist, props artisan and sometime projection designer. Kathy holds an MFA in scenic design from the University of Missouri, Kansas City.

SOFIA ITSKOVICH (Stage Manager) is so excited to be joining the Wisconsin Shakespeare Festival team for the inaugural season! Her favorite past professional credits include The Gateways Playhouse’s production of Head Over Heels (assistant stage manager) and Disney’s The Little Mermaid (assistant stage manager). Her proudest collegiate productions include Something Rotten! (production stage manager), 12 Angry Jurors (production stage manager), Last Summer at Bluefish Cove (properties designer/manager), and Mind, Body & Spirit (lighting designer). Sofia is also the artist mentor for WSF’s Merely Players program and is excited to bring more Shakespeare to the Eau Claire area! Sofia would like to thank your family, friends, and partner for their continued support. She would like to dedicate this show to Polina. @sofial0ves SHASTA REESE (Assistant Stage Manager) is going into her senior year at the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire. She studies comprehensive theatre and can’t for the life of her decide whether to pursue acting, directing, or stage management post-undergrad! This summer, Shasta is also involved in Midwest Artist Academy as a college assistant, a camp for young artists to collaborate under 5 mediums. This upcoming school year, Shasta will be stage managing UWEC’s fall musical, Godspell, and assistant directing the spring play, Airness. Shasta has loved getting to help out with A Midsummer Night’s Dream and hopes you enjoy the show!

JACQUELYNNE DOMIN (Props Coordinator) is a fifth-year Theatre Major with a Music Minor at the University of Wisconsin– Eau Claire. She is a student designer who works across campus with many projects some of which included assistant costume designing Orpheus and the Underworld, lighting designing Failure: a Love Story and UWEC Cabaret: Forces of Nature, sound designing Peter and the Starcatcher, and more as Production Lighting Technician at Event Production Crew on campus. After her upcoming and final year at UWEC, she hopes to pursue an MFA in Design for Stage.

GEOFFREY GLOVER (Projection Designer) has previously designed projections for the Chippewa Valley Symphony Orchestra and is currently a production crew chief at Pablo Center.

He is excited to enter the world of theatrical projection design with the Wisconsin Shakespeare Festival. He would like to thank everyone involved in the production for their hard work and inspiration.

Pablo Center at the Confluence, while listening to and learning from the community, pledges to: address structural and historical inequities in the arts, identify and address implicit biases and practices throughout the organizational structures of Pablo Center, and respond to the events of our time that test relationships within the community through dialogue, educational and artistic programming, and care.

Our first act towards this pledge is the creation of the Committee for Inclusive and Just Engagement and Practices, which is dedicated to the resolution of issues and the creation of opportunities related to social justice.
