Universal Litter Wheel Attachment for Search & Rescue

PROBLEM STATEMENT Search & rescue carries are exhausting: how can we improve the health and safety for these volunteers?

A CARRY IS NECESSARY WHEN:

Patient is incapacitated On rough trails More than 1 mile from road Body recoveries

INTERVIEW: SALT LAKE CITY SEARCH & RESCUE Name: Justin Grisham Age: 37 From: Carbondale, CO Location: Salt Lake City Utah Work: ER Trauma Surgeon Fun: Cycling, hiking, rock climbing and grilling. Favorite Food: Rare Steak & a Salad. Complaints: The double wheel attachments we have are all bolt on, so that can be a problem getting patients into it if we don’t have them back boarded already. Also they are all too wide for steep and narrow trails. The single wheels we have are narrow but no where near stable enough, and the brake systems are all bulky and hard to use.

“We have a few wheeled attachments but, they are either too narrow or too wide, too bulky or too heavy and have a laundry list of problems.”
