Portfolio for Master of Architecture applications for 2020-2021 admission cycle. I am a non-background applicant since I have a Bachelor of Science in Business, Economic Consulting.
Accepted at the University of Pennsylvania, University of Michigan, University of Virginia, Washington University in St. Louis, University of Texas at Austin, and Southern California Institute of Architecture. I enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania in the 3.5 year Master of Architecture program.
I hope this is helpful and inspirational to other non-background applicants! I happened to have skills with professional software programs, so I focused on demonstrating that range and connecting my background in business/economics to design. Generally, it is also important to show an ability to think in 3D and to tailor your portfolio to each school (what styles, techniques, or topics are common in student work/faculty research there?). Most importantly, ask for feedback from as many people as you can!
