KIPP DC COLLEGE PREPARATORY
A leading college preparatory high school in the heart of D.C.’s NoMa neighborhood At KCP we believe that "choosing a high school is one of the first big decisions your child will make, and we know how much trust comes with that choice. We promise to welcome your child for exactly who they are, to know them, listen to them, believe in them, and push them every single day to become the very best version of themselves. Here, promises to children are sacred."
Gaelan Gallagher, KCP Principal
COLLEGE PREP MEANS COLLEGE PREP When you decide to enroll your child here, we commit to an education that prepares them for college in every way possible: rigorous academics, rich extracurriculars, and high expectations backed by personalized support. At KCP, 'College Prep' is more than a name—it's a promise.

HONORS PROGRAM Beginning in 9th grade, the KCP Honors Program gives a highly select group of students the rigorous curriculum, enrichment, and mentorship needed to compete for admission to the nation's most prestigious universities. Our Honors students outperform nearly every selective high school program in DC.
AP & DUAL ENROLLMENT
COLLEGE COUNSELING College counseling starts freshman year by ensuring every student has a four-year academic plan—and by beginning our research-backed SAT Prep Program from day one. "Panther Pathway" meetings keep students and families on track, while junior and senior seminars provide personalized support for college applications, scholarships, and career exploration.
KCP students can choose from 20+ AP and dual enrollment courses through Trinity Washington University, ATC, and the OSSE Dual Enrollment Consortium, with partners including American, Catholic, and George Mason universities, allowing students to earn college credit and experience before graduation.
NAF ACADEMY OF BUSINESS Our business-focused NAF Academy starts in 10th grade, guiding students through courses in finance, entrepreneurship, business management, IT, and more. The program connects students with companies like Amazon and Verizon for internships and work experience, along with certification opportunities in Adobe Photoshop or QuickBooks.
WORLD LANGUAGES KCP is proud to offer classes in four world languages—Spanish, French, Portuguese, and Mandarin—and our partnership with the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) supports study abroad.
EDUCATION BEYOND THE CLASSROOM At KCP, learning extends far beyond the classroom. The KCP student experience supports academic success, extracurricular interests, and personal growth. We offer more than 30 clubs and activities, with the goal of every student finding spaces where they can thrive—whether through sports, theater, leadership opportunities, or even starting their own club. With so many ways to join the Panther community, KCP becomes a second home for many KIPPsters. You'll often find students on campus well into the evening, engaged in activities that enrich their lives, deepen their connection to school, and build their character.

Most students stay engaged long after requirements are met through advanced courses, afternoon programs, and arts clubs. Performances, plays, exhibits, and showcases fill the evening calendar.
