Kingswood Residents’ Association
FROM THE NEW CHAIR
Firstly, allow me to introduce myself: my name is David Floyd and I am the recently-elected Chair of the Kingswood Residents’ Association. My wife and I have lived in the village for the last 15 years and for much of that time I have been an active member of the KRA’s governing committee. I hope that, under my chairmanship, the KRA will continue to serve the village’s needs as it has been doing for over 70 years.

Since becoming Chair in March, I have been heavily involved in the work of the KRA’s Strategy Working Group in looking at the way the association works and how relevant it is to the needs and wishes of our community in 2022.
As part of this exercise, this Summer you will have been invited to take part in a detailed Village Questionnaire to help the KRA understand what you would like our organisation to do on your behalf. We also asked if you would be willing to be involved in KRA matters and have been delighted by the number of you who offered your services. If you have not already heard from us, you will be doing so soon. And if you haven’t received the Village Questionnaire yet, please contact us on kingswoodra1@gmail.com and we’ll send one to you. Watch out for the results of our questionnaire in the next issue of The Village Voice. Thank you for all of those who completed the questionnaire – perhaps you were one of the lucky dozen who each won a bottle of Champagne in the prize draw for all those who took part.
Among other initiatives the KRA has been working on recently is a campaign by our local Surrey County Councillor, Rebecca Paul, to secure fairer government funding for the area’s road infrastructure including the road surfaces themselves, road markings, drains and signage.
Anyone who drives round our area will be all too aware of the woeful state of our roads, as well as badly-maintained drains and street furniture. On the A217 many signposts are obscured by vegetation or have disappeared and in some roads around the village the drainage system has collapsed completely.
As part of this initiative, the KRA is considering partnering with other local residents’ associations to gather evidence of prolonged neglect in their localities in order to present the findings to Surrey Highways, the body responsible for our roads. We would very much welcome your views on this subject, together with photos of examples of personal concern. Please email your pictures to kingswoodra1@gmail.com with details of where they were taken and mark them ‘Kingswood Roads’ in the subject field.
Finally, and still on the subject of roads, you may have noticed the new avenue of trees which has been planted on Waterhouse Lane approaching the village shops from the A217, and also three new ‘Welcome to Kingswood’ signs on Bonsor Drive, Outwood Lane and Waterhouse Lane. We would like to thank Reigate and Banstead Borough Council which funded these projects via the Community Infrastructure Levy.

Google Review June 2022
Team @Kennedys' are a fantastic team with any home search and are the "go to property agents" is all I can say...
The entre team were easily reachable with excellent communication skills and worked hard to keep things together for us on both our sale & purchase. We would highly recommend Kennedys' for any of your property sale & purchase requirements - they are indeed the Rockstar agents. Mr & Mrs S
