Childhood and Social Institutions (CSI) Bachelor of Arts (BA)

As part of Interdisciplinary Programs, the CSI program combines a unique focus on identifying often overlooked child competencies, a constructive questioning of existing understandings of childhood, and an exploration of the implications of the changing status of children and childhood in Canada and internationally.

Social Justice and Peace Studies (SJP) Bachelor of Arts (BA)

As part of Interdisciplinary Programs, the SJPS program is one of the only programs in Canada that combines the study and work of both justice and peace. This program critically examines Local and Global Experiential Course Opportunities Available! the root causes of social injustice and violence in society, in our community and in the world. And it innovatively explores alternatives to injustice and violence by focusing on how to build peace and justice.

King’s has agreements with Western’s Faculty of Education. Graduates from the Catholic Studies for Teacher, French and Social Justice and Peace Studies programs who successfully graduate with an overall final average of 75% or greater, and who fulfill all other admissions requirements to the Faculty of Education, are guaranteed entry to either the J/I or I/S streams.

We provide students with a leading undergraduate experience through our two programs: Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies – both with several program streams.
Economics and Finance
Bachelor of Arts (BA)

In the first year of study, economics and finance students receive a broad liberal arts foundation. By third and fourth year, students explore a more specialized curriculum designed to bring students closer to the leading edge of current understanding in economics, finance or financial economics. Many students take advantage of the unique opportunity to complete an undergraduate thesis mentored by a faculty member. Students can also participate in internships and study abroad to enhance their learning. King’s School of Social Work is a place where you can push conceptual boundaries, explore new territory, and enhance your skills. Our small classes and the quality and commitment of our faculty to teaching will provide you with a warm and stimulating environment. We offer both the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and the Masters of Social Work (MSW). Specialized degree programs in: • Accounting • Finance & Administration • Global Commerce • Organizational & Human Resources Students enrolled in the first year of the BMOS program take a common core of Math, Economics and Business and then select 2.0 additional elective courses based on their areas of interest and potential stream of study. They specialize into one of the four areas beginning in second year.
Internship Program Studies
The BMOS program offers an Industry Internship Program (IIP) for students interested in practical experience prior to graduation. Students spend 4-16 months working in industry between their third and fourth years of their degree. Some sample employers include: • IBM • 3M Ishita Kumar

MSW
(applications to the MSW are completed through Western’s School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies)
Designed to develop and enhance the knowledge and practice skills of social work professionals, our expanded MSW program includes a greater selection of practice-oriented courses and more opportunities to apply theory in real life situations. Two streams are offered: 1-year advanced standing for those with a BSW, and a 2-year program for students who have completed a fouryear undergraduate in another discipline. Tina Nguyen
