KINGSTON GRAMMAR SCHOOL

WE ARE KINGSTON GRAMMAR SCHOOL.

WE ARE KINGSTON GRAMMAR SCHOOL

We have a distinguished history whilst being focussed on the future.

We are a kind school, where individual talents are celebrated and supported.

We encourage students to develop the skills and confidence to be independent, critical thinkers.

We give them the tools to know how to ‘work well and be happy’.

We hold the values of aspiration, respect and engagement dear, and they are central to our ethos.

We believe that we are more than just KGS.

We are a community.

WE ARE ALL KINGSTONIANS

At KGS, our aim has always been to deliver an education that gives every student the tools to develop both the ability and the will to make the world a better, kinder place whilst achieving personal excellence and fulfilment.

You will no doubt remember our school motto, Bene Agere ac Laetari –‘Work Well and Be Happy’. It remains central to our ethos, along with our core values of aspiration, respect and engagement, all of which are woven into daily school life.

The KGS Bursary Fund currently provides means-tested fee support to 47 students. With the help of Kingstonians around the globe, we have an ambition to double that by 2028.

Bursaries truly have the power to change lives. Your generous support can make an immeasurable difference to a student’s life, opening the door to an education at KGS that previously would not have been possible.

I do hope you’ll consider helping us transform the lives of the next generation of Kingstonians, and be part of our past, our present and our future.

OUR AMBITION.

+ You are already part of the history of Kingston Grammar School. Will you also be part of its future?

2028 sees us celebrate 50 years since Kingston Grammar School became co-educational. As one of the country’s leading independent schools, we have an ambition to mark this anniversary by doubling the number of bursaries available to those who would otherwise not be able to afford an education at KGS.

Kingstonians have helped many hundreds of students already, whether by supporting a bursary or raising money for specific projects. With your help, we can offer an education at KGS to even more young people.

We have big plans for our school. On our London Road site we have taken over a nearby building meaning that we can open a brand new state-of-the-art Sixth Form building. We also continue to look at improving our facilities at Ditton Field.

There are many ways to get involved in the future of Kingston Grammar School. The generous support of our alumni makes a huge difference to what we can offer the next generation of Kingstonians.

The KGS Bursary Fund supports students who would otherwise not have been able to join us. Our ambition is to continue to widen access to the School and your support helps us achieve that.

I am delighted to be overseeing the launch of Kingstonians, our refreshed and reinvigorated KGS alumni organisation.

Our alumni are hugely important to us, and we want everyone with a connection to KGS to feel welcome and part of our community.

Spanning the generations, our alumni have played an invaluable part in shaping what KGS is today. Alumni play a vital role: from helping to raise funds for exciting school projects and providing support for bursaries and hardship funds to mentoring individuals and getting involved in careers events, there are many ways to be involved.

We are here for you, too. From networking events and social occasions to invitations to join us down at Ditton Field, on the river or in the Michael Frayn Theatre, we do hope you’ll come back to KGS soon.

Receiving a bursary at KGS allowed me to experience a quality of education that I otherwise would not have been able to access, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities it has given me. The high standards instilled in me is something I now strive to continue with my own students. I loved my time at KGS, both for the friendships I made and the support I received, and I will carry the values and skills I acquired into the future.
