The growing demands of modern logistics require constant innovation, stronger safety measures and better service delivery In aiming to go beyond expectations, KFTL deployed Nokia's state-of-the-art Private Long-Term Evolution (pLTE) network in October 2023, making us the first Caribbean port to implement such an advanced network ensuring unparalleled wireless connectivity and reliability We continue to reinforce our IT infrastructure in 2024 with upgrades to our Terminal Operating System and plans are underway to execute additional upgrades through the implementation of a new domestic and warehouse billing system that will streamline customer processes We will also be introducing a digital radio system to boost efficiency and safety, and a Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) to enhance container positioning accuracy, security, and safety
As we progress into 2024, our dedication to innovation remains steadfast with these strategic upgrades, each initiative reflecting our unwavering pursuit of excellence. As a team we are leading the charge towards a more connected and efficient future.

KFTL will invest over USD 50 million into cutting-edge technology and major equipment to strengthen our commitment to excellence, safety, and sustainability In pursuit of enhanced operational efficiency and eco-friendly practices, KFTL is acquiring 2 Ship-to Shore Cranes, expected by late 2025 and 12 Hybrid Straddle Carriers to be deployed by mid-2024 which will be added to the existing hybrid fleet These Hybrid Straddle Carriers will work to reduce CO2 emissions by using a regenerative power system coupled with an efficient diesel power source
These investments underscore KFTL's dedication to staying at the forefront of port operations and ensuring that our facilities are equipped with the latest technologies for improved performance. KFTL continues to prioritize people and talent development by building a robust training and internal promotions programme to cultivate a growth-oriented culture, as well as upgrading Terminal facilities, including a refurbished canteen and improved workspaces to support employee well-being
