IMPORTANT INFORMATION

ALL LIBRARY SCHOOL HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES ARE FREE

Bookings for program will open 7 days prior to each event at 11am.

Children under 10 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Please book only one space for your child if events are duplicated. Please arrive on time.

If you can no longer attend, please be kind and cancel your bookings online or over the phone so that another may have your space. All dates and times are correct at time of printing.

Please note regular Children + Families programming does not run during school holidays. They will recommence the week beginning Monday 15 July.

Collage Photo Box Craft

A group of friends and their dog go on a treasure hunt to find different animals at a zoo. They’re given riddles to seek out animals of certain colours and patterns. They earn a surprise when they complete the treasure hunt and get to ride a hot air balloon home.

In the absence of written languages, Aboriginal people used paintings to convey knowledge for thousands of years. Symbols are playing an important role in storytelling and traditional art styles vary greatly across Australia.

A highly experienced First Nations educator will introduce the children to a range of Aboriginal symbols and how they can be used to tell a story. Then we will decorate our very own boomerang using Aboriginal symbols and design elements.

Please bring an art smock or similar.

Block Printing with A Fitting Connection

Block printing is a tactile printing technique that allows you to quickly embellish and personalise garments, giving new life to old things and keeping clothes in use longer by covering stains. BYO garments or fabric.

Learn how easy it is to create gift wrapping from old textiles with a DIY screen printing technique. You will learn simple methods of creating stencils or even using leaves and flowers to personalise. BYO garments or fabric.

In this origin story set in 1976, when supervillain Gru is just shy of 12 years old and a fanboy of the Vicious 6, a supervillain collective he dreams of joining. When the group has an opening for a new recruit, Gru applies and is then mocked by his heroes during the interview. He retaliates by stealing a magical pendant that can summon the power of the Chinese zodiac during the Lunar New Year.

KEZ ABOUT THE ARTISTS! BELLE

Kerri-Ann Taggart, most commonly known as KEZ, is an Indigenous, Wonnarua digital artist from the Hunter Valley.

She’s been creating art for as long as she can remember and most of her free time is dedicated to developing her illustration and drawing skills.

Kerri-Ann loves character design, films, spooky things and animals.

Belle Leonard is an Aboriginal artist from the Hunter Valley.

She is an artist and graphic designer and has enjoyed making art in all kinds of mediums her whole life. Her art varies from Aboriginal paintings and digital art, to oil paintings and hand embroidery. In her free time, she loves to make art for her friends and family, learn new creative skills, and play with her dogs.

Belle loves art and design, athletics, music, and cute animals.
