The 9th October saw the press launch for this year’s panto ‘Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs’. The cast including Lisa Riley & Marcus Patrick arrived in style and still smiling despite the drizzle! We are delighted Lisa is doing so well in Strictly Come Dancing and are thrilled to announce that Lisa’s Emmerdale co-star and friend Adele Silva will be taking over Lisa’s role as Queen Malevola until after Strictly Come Dancing, when Lisa will return to the pantomime. We wish Lisa the best of luck in the competition and hope that she is able to bring the trophy with her on her return. Also, we can’t wait to see the result of our secret project – ‘Project X’ – the elves are working hard transforming the Box Office ready for our panto wonderland!

Children In Need We’re thrilled to announce the final total of £5,290.90 raised for Children In Need on Wednesday 14th November. From ticket sales and collections alone we raised £1,948.00 but we couldn’t have done it without the help from those who contributed, so we’d like to say a huge thank you to Kenwood Limited for donating £2085.75, the Queens Hotel and Clarence Pier for giving £1,000 and Portsmouth Warriors Cheerleading for adding a further £257.15. And to all those who got involved with the event including; the acts, staff, the public and of course Pudsey, thank you, the night was a huge success! Triple E: new equipment launch On Monday 24th September, industry and local press along with interested companies, local schools & theatres gathered on stage here at the Kings for the launch of a brand new tab track (curtain track). We are the first in the world to have this track installed and it has been given to us by Triple E. Triple E director David Edelstein & his wife Brenda were part of the night riders who visited the theatre back in June, and thanks to the warm welcome they received they decided to gift us this track. We are so grateful to both triple E and JC& Joel for the curtains.

Kings awarded for excellence! On Tuesday 4th December the theatre’s General Manager David Cooper met with a group of school headmasters from Poland to discuss opportunities for young people such as placements, work experience and employment. The headmasters had visited students in local Portsmouth Colleges and Universities before coming to the Kings Theatre due to our good reputation regarding training and learning.
