The Kings Theatre believes that theatre is for everyone. The Konnect department strives to ensure that everyone in the community can enjoy the world of the theatre.

We have passionate and experienced volunteers who work hard to preserve the history of the venue with history tours, archive displays and special events.

Our thriving Youth Theatre (KYT) holds regular classes for young people aged 2-18. Through this experience, children develop their acting, dancing and singing skills as well as gaining an insight into a working theatre. We offer bursaries to make sure every child has the opportunity to participate.

We are committed to meaningful outreach projects in a range of settings such as care homes, community centres, schools and hospitals.

The Konnect team also forges links with local schools through our education programme of tours, workshops and projects.

Our Box Office team can be reached during opening hours on 023 9282 8282. From 1 September our Box Office will be open Monday - Friday from 10am - 5pm. On show days the Box Office will remain open until 30 minutes after the show starts. If there are shows or activities at the weekend the Box Office opens 90 minutes before the show and closes 30 minutes after the show starts.

Public parking is available at Waitrose, Marmion Road, Portsmouth, PO5 2EJ, which is an 8-minute walk from the theatre.

There is parking available on the residential streets surrounding the theatre but this is not guaranteed. Please note there are permit parking restrictions between 4:30pm 6:30pm daily.

DISABLED PARKING

There are two disabled parking bays to the left of the Stalls’ Entrance on Albert Road. We are unable to reserve these spaces.

Blue Badge holders can park on single/double yellow lines near the theatre (NOT in the loading bays) for a maximum of three hours.

We cannot provide access for mobility scooters within the theatre or larger wheelchairs. For those wishing to travel to the theatre in a mobility scooter these would need to be left outside the building.

ACCESS INFORMATION

The Kings Theatre is a Grade II* listed Edwardian Theatre and level access is at Stalls level only. All other levels can only be accessed via stairs/steps. Please note there is no lift in the theatre.

Our Upper Circle Slips and Gallery are sold as General Admission. This means that there are no seat numbers and you choose your own seats. These areas are a mix of individual seats and benches.
