Celebrating

10 years of the Kings Theatre Trust In 2001, The Kings Theatre might have been turned into a pub when J D Wetherspoon put in a bid to buy the theatre. However, by July 2001, AKTER (Action for Kings TheatrE Restoration) had gathered a petition of 26,675 signatures to save the theatre, which was then purchased by Portsmouth City Council and leased to the Kings Theatre Trust Ltd, who undertook to run the theatre and restore the building for the community.

Macbeth “Spite, Spectres, and Soothesayers... ...something wicked this way comes...” “✩✩✩✩✩” EdFringe

Icarus voted Best Production Runner Up at The Guide Awards for Journey’s End

Highly acclaimed Icarus Theatre Collective presents a bold and exciting performance of Shakespeare’s most bloody and fear-filled tragedy. The vicious, barbaric undercurrent in Shakespeare’s epic erupts in this kinetic, blood-thirsty production. Unrivalled on the battlefield, Macbeth is rewarded with rank and favour by a grateful king. But with each enemy Macbeth butchers to serve his own vaulting ambition, his lust for power takes a more menacing grip until he ferociously seizes the throne. But, violence breeds violence, and a reign born in blood quickly spirals out of control as Macbeth’s actions return to destroy him. Blending traditional and inventive physical theatre techniques, original live music, evocative design, and using the original verse, this slick production is perfect for audiences new to Macbeth and those already well acquainted with Shakespeare’s tragedies.

From Academy Award nominated filmmaker John A. Davis, The Ant Bully is a tale of young Lucas Nickle, who has been taking out his frustration on the innocent ant hill in his yard. But one day the ants retaliate, shrinking Lucas down to ant size to live in their colony.

Canadian actor Charles Ross spent much of his childhood in a galaxy far, far away, watching Star Wars videos over - and over - and over again.
