PRESIDENTS REPORTS
BOARD OF
DIRECTORS
Welcome to the winter edition of the Burst, this is the Club's first digital version of the Burst continuing the Club’s environmental commitment. Firstly, I trust you and your families are all well and did not experience too much difficulty in getting through the Covid-19 lockdown period. It is great to have the Club open again after being shut for the last two months. The Management and staff are pleased to be back working and welcoming our members back into the Club to enjoy the hospitality. The Club's normal ANZAC Day Service had to be cancelled due to the Government restrictions in place at the time, the Club and Sub Branch organised, with the permission of the local Police Command, to have a short service at the Club's memorial, the service was live streamed by staff member Sarah Mezentsef and can be seen on the Sub Branch page of the Club’s website.
Alan Barnes OAM PRESIDENT
On behalf of the Board I would take this opportunity to thank the Club CEO Ian Todd, the Management team and the staff who organised the shutdown of the Club at very short notice, then kept the club operating with the take away food and the popular takeaway draft and packaged alcohol. Then again at short notice they had the Club ready to reopen on day one the 1st June. It was a great team effort and highlights what terrific staff we have working here at the Club.
Tas Aronis SNR VICE PRESIDENT
Heather Shepherd VICE PRESIDENT
The Board and the Management have agreed that there will be a phasing in of our popular promotions and weekly activities due to the current restrictions on the number of members that can be in the Club areas at any one time due to social distancing rules, however as you are aware the government is changing the requirements on a weekly basis so keep up to date by checking the Club's website. You will have noticed that we implemented a number of changes to various areas with in the club, in particular the smoking veranda and the Sports Bar, both areas have poker machines installed, the Board and Management appreciate that this has meant that the Snooker Club has had to temporarily forgo their snooker games, our thanks for their understanding the need for the Club to utilise this area for gaming until the social distancing restrictions are lifted.

THE BURST
I would take this opportunity to thank the Club CEO Ian Todd and Sub-Branch members John Graham and Neil Arena for nominating me for an Order Of Australia Medal (OAM) which was gazetted on the Queen’s Birthday weekend, The nomination was supported by the Federal member for Barton Linda Burney and the State Member for Kogarah Chris Minns, it is a great honour, I do acknowledge that it would not have happened without the great support I have received from the Sub-Branch, Club Management and the staff of the Kingsgrove RSL Club. I look forward to seeing you in the Club some time soon. “Poise, the act of raising eyebrows instead of the roof” Alan R. Barnes JP President
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER’S REPORT WE ARE BACK AND OUR DOORS ARE OPEN It has been a confusing roller coaster ride for all of us over the past four months. I hope that all of you and your loved ones have been well and safe during the Covid-19 pandemic shutdown. It was great to open the doors on the 1st June and despite the current restrictions it was heartening to see members at the door at opening time. It is still not “business as normal” but the support from our members has been overwhelming. I would like to thank the wonderful staff we have at Kingsgrove RSL Club for their efforts and support during the Covid pandemic. There was a lot of uncertainty during these times but everyone assisted where they could. We have implemented the ClubsNSW and NSW Health recommendations for a Covid Safe Venue and the safety of our members and staff is paramount in our implementation of these measures.
2020, so you can continue to earn and spend your existing points which will now be valid until 30th June 2021. Did we miss your Birthday? Many members would have missed their birthday during the shutdown so we have a belated birthday present for you. All birthday vouchers for March to June are available at reception on your next visit. We will also honour any vouchers you may still be holding from March 2020 prior to the shutdown of the Club, please present them to our staff on your next visit.
As of the 1st July 2020 restrictions will again be relaxed and this will see the implementation of some of your favourite promotions being reinstated with bingo, raffles, poker and a number of poker machine promotions.
I would like to congratulate our Club and Sub Branch President Alan Barnes on being awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list. Alan has dedicated his time over the past 20 years to the Kingsgrove RSL Club and the welfare of our veterans and the ideals of the RSL. Alan is a very worthy recipient of this honour.
The Club had to defer the Annual General Meeting scheduled for March, with the new date being Tuesday 28th July 2020 at 7pm. The agenda for the AGM is on pages 4 - 7 and the Financial Report for 2019 is on the Club website.
I would like to thank all the members for your support, understanding and loyalty during the trying times we have endured with the Covid pandemic and the consequences it has caused. For now, the future looks brighter and before too long we will be back into full swing.
Although the Clubs AGM had been deferred the Board of Directors approved the appointment of member Matt Ruru to the casual Vacancy on the Board of Directors of Kingsgrove RSL Club in June 2020. This was in accordance with the Club Constitution and the results of the Club election held in March 2020. We welcome Matt to the Board and look forward to working with him.
Look forward in seeing you all in the Club soon.
Rations Dining is in full operation with the full menu available and the ever-popular Chef’s Specials are back. The Board of Directors have approved the deferral of all membership subscriptions for 2020 due to the pandemic shutdown. Every member gets 2020 membership included in their current subscription. Check with our reception staff on you next visit as to your next renewal date and whether you need a new membership card.

Under rule 6.11 of the Club’s Constitution a Financial Ordinary Member who has rendered distinguished and valued service to the Club may be elected to Life membership. SPECIAL RESOLUTION 1: That the Constitution of Kingsgrove R.S.L. Club Ltd be amended by: •
Deleting rule 8.5 in its entirety and replacing it with the following new rule 8.5: “8.5 The Board, the Chief Executive Officer, or the senior employee on duty at the relevant time, may cancel the membership of an Honorary Member or Temporary Member at any time without being required to give reasons.”

Deleting rule 22.14 in its entirety and replacing it with the following new rule 22.14:
(a) shall declare the result of the General Election; and (b) if vacancies on the Board remain after the General Election, shall call for nominations in accordance with rule 22.9 to fill such vacancies and conduct a ballot if required.” •
Deleting rules 28.2 to 28.4 (inclusive) in their entirety and replacing them with the following new rule 28.2 and 28.3: “28.2 The members may request the Board to call a General Meeting in accordance with Section 249D of the Act. 28.3 The members may call a General Meeting only in accordance with section 249E or Section 249F of the Act.”

If passed, this Special Resolution would amend the Constitution as follows: • Rule 8.5 will provide that Honorary memberships and Temporary memberships may be cancelled by the CEO or senior manager on duty. In practice, it is more likely that management will need to deal with any immediate issues concerning these members, rather than the Board. This would not change the rights of Full Members. • Currently, members can only resign in writing. The amendment to rule 9.3 would allow a member to resign verbally and hand in their membership card. • Rule 10 has been simplified so that registers must be maintained in accordance with the Registered Clubs Act. • Under the Registered Clubs Act, the Board may appoint up to 2 Ordinary Members to be Directors, provided that there are never more than 9 Directors on the Board at any one time. Act, and is included in the new Constitution in rule 16.2 accordingly. Important matters for members to be aware of include: i. This rule was introduced under the Registered Clubs Act to allow the Board to appoint a person who has skills and/or qualifications which will be useful to the Club at the relevant time (for example, if the Club is engaging in a major project). ii. A person appointed under this rule may be appointed for a term of no more than 3 years, and is not eligible for re-appointment at the end of that term (though they may stand for election by the members in future if they are eligible under the Constitution). iii. The Club may request any person being appointed to disclose if they have ever been declared ineligible by the Independent Liquor & Gaming Authority in the past to hold office as a secretary or member of the governing body of any registered club. The person must make the disclosure within 7 days. iv. Within 21 days after their appointment, a notice must be posted on the Club noticeboard and website which sets out the reasons for the person’s appointment, their relevant skills and qualifications, and any payments they will receive (such as, the honoraria for Directors approved by the members at the Annual General Meeting). If the person has made a disclosure of past ineligibility, then that information must also be posted up for the information of members. Rule 16.3 is amended to remove references to the changes to the Constitution in 2009. Board elections will continue to be held biennially. The new rule19.5 will provide that if Board numbers fall below a quorum (5 Directors) then the Board may call a General Meeting for any purpose, call a General Meeting specifically for the purpose of the members electing additional Directors, or fill the casual vacancies. This is to ensure that the Board can continue to function appropriately. Rule 22.14 would be amended so that the Returning Officer (or their authorised delegate if the Returning Officer is unable to be present for some unforeseen reason, such as illness) will declare the Board election results and conduct any necessary ballot for nominations from the floor of the AGM to fill any remaining vacancies on the Board. Rules 28.2 to 28.4 have been substantially simplified, and members will be able to request, or call, a General Meeting of the Club in accordance with the procedures in the Corporations Act.

2020 CLUB ANZAC DAY On the 25th of April 1915, Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) soldiers formed part of the allied expedition that set out to capture the Gallipoli Peninsula. These became known as Anzacs and the pride they took in that name continues to this day and includes the remembrance of all Australians killed in military operations. This year we couldn’t gather together to commemorate ANZAC Day, as we traditionally would, due to Covid-19 health restrictions. However, the significance of the sacrifice of all our Anzacs past and present was not forgotten, with thousands of Australians stepping out their front doors, or onto their balconies at dawn to play the Last Post, drawing poppies in their driveways or footpaths, and tuning into live commemorative services to pay their respects. Social media was inundated with images, videos and content inclusive of the hashtag #westandtogether, from so many around the world pouring their support for the Anzacs this 2020. In the spirit of the day, Kingsgrove RSL Club still held a small ANZAC Day Commemorative Service at 7am on Saturday, 25th April 2020 with limited members of the Sub Branch, Board of Directors, Management and Staff. Broadcasting it LIVE on Facebook to allow our members and community to watch from the safety of their own homes, and take the time to stop and remember those men and women who’ve made incredible sacrifices for others during past moments of conflict and crisis. Following the service and in-line with the 1.5m social distancing rules and health advise at the time, local Kingsgrove members were welcomed to walk up to the cenotaph in front of the Club, to pay personal respects to Australian soldiers past and present. It was beautiful to see so many take the opportunity throughout the weekend to place wreaths and poppies at the cenotaph. A copy of the LIVE video is still available on the Club website to view the Commemorative Service as we continue to unite and acknowledge the ANZAC Spirit of Endurance, Mateship, Sacrifice and Courage this year, particularly amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

THE COVID PANDEMIC Clubs are an industry that strive on commitment to members, staff and the community as a whole. We are well equipped to handle the day to day changes from the government or legislative requirements that are frequently thrust upon us, but nobody was prepared for what was about to happen or could have been ready to deal with COVID-19. Like a lot of other businesses, in March 2020 after the realisation that COVID-19 was now here to stay, your Club was frantically implementing the recommendations of NSW Health and ClubsNSW to adhere to the social distance rules, the introduction of hand sanitisers, preparing for additional cleaning throughout the Club, taking temperatures to ensure wellness and applying seating limitations. It was a difficult time, but to ensure the safety of our staff and our members, implementation was necessary and was completed quickly. Information was flowing into the Club from all Government agencies and Club industry associations hourly and it was a relentless job to disseminate it all and implement the changes needed, only for the information to be altered 24 hours later. Nobody really saw what was going to happen next. The feeling was surreal on Monday 23rd March 2020 at 12 pm midday when we were forced to close our doors with the realisation that this could last for 6 months. It was a shock having to close the Club, this was the first time in our 69-year history the Club has been closed and the effects were far reaching. The Board of Directors and senior management promptly implemented a Club Closure Plan which focused on supporting our employees and implementing a financial plan to ensure we could survive the shutdown of the Club and be in a position financially to re-open the Club once restrictions eased. The shutdown of the Club was very difficult for all our members who regularly visited the Club for social interaction, for meals at Jade Palace Restaurant and Ration Dining, not to mention a nice cold drink and a little flutter. For many the Club is a lifeline and it was tough to sever this, even if only for a little while. The Club had to cease the services of over 100 suppliers, many who have been supplying Kingsgrove RSL Club for decades. 10
THE BURST
The Club’s loans and taxation liabilities were deferred which assisted the Club at the time of the shutdown but will need to be settled in the near future. But by far the most difficult thing was the standing down of 48 of our 60 employees. With all of us not fully assured of future employment with the Club closed, the introduction of Jobkeeper by the Federal Government was a ray of sunlight to a very bleak day and the Club was able to place 41 employees onto the Jobkeeper scheme. The Covid pandemic has affected each and every one of us in different ways with many of our members losing their jobs, not being able to purchase grocery items, whilst others fearing for their own health and the health of family and friends. During the shutdown period the Club had to instigate a maintenance plan to ensure the operational capabilities of Club’s air conditioning systems, refrigeration, computers and poker machines were preserved. We sought the services of our great staff and asked for volunteers to come to the Club for six hour per week, not only to assist in a cleaning and gardening program but assisting us to implement takeaway food and beverages and arrange for regular emails and phone calls to our members. Interestingly the Board of Directors had to seek new means for their Board meetings and the electronic means of Zoom were introduced to Kingsgrove RSL Club.
CLUB GETS TO RE-OPEN As COVID restrictions began to be relaxed in NSW, there was talk that the Club may be able to reopen in July, so your Club began implementing the NSW Health and ClubsNSW recommendations. Although we were eager to reopen our doors and get our members back into the Club, the Board of Directors and management were adamant that the safety of our members and employees was paramount and would guide the measures that we would implement.
We were preparing for a July opening when once again the government changed the date to June.
• •
Our staff worked frantically in one week to implement to following measures:
•
• •
• •
• • •
• • • • • • • • • • • • •
Use floor markers where people are likely to queue Separate bar and dining tables so groups seated around one table are at least 1.5 metres from groups seated around another table Appoint one or more CovidSAFE marshals Prominently display signs throughout the venue which encourage physical distancing and good personal hygiene practises Limit group size to 10 patrons Stagger the entry and exit of patrons and staff Take steps to achieve distancing between gaming machines and relocate 24 gaming machines into the Sports Lounge and 13 gaming machines onto the Balcony. Alcohol wipes for cleaning gaming machines available upon request Have separate entry and exit points so patrons do not walk directly past each other Monitor the capacity of the premises in real time Require patrons to be seated while consuming alcohol Display signs at the entrance to each area specifying the capacity Require patrons to “sign in and out” Screen patrons at entry using a thermometer Screen patrons at entry by asking them questions to ascertain their COVID-19 risk level Use signage to encourage contactless payments Send communications to members reinforcing the club’s CovidSAFE standards Make available alcohol-based hand sanitiser in each room of the premises Face masks and gloves available upon request Prominently display signs near hand cleaning facilities on how to correctly clean hands
• • •
Use disposable menus and display on screens only Keep all cutlery, crockery, condiments and cups behind the counters and issue only upon request Clean frequently touched surfaces at least once every 60 minutes using hospital grade disinfectant Clean restrooms at least once every 30 minutes using hospital grade disinfectant All staff to complete infection control training Promote the CovidSAFE app to staff
By implementing all of the above your Club was able to register and receive the CovidSAFE Business Certification to be able to guarantee our members, guests and staff that Kingsgrove RSL Club is and will always be a safe venue. On the 1st June 2020 after 70 days of our Club being closed, we were able to reopen the doors and greet our members. Many happy smiling faces greeted us and each week we see more of our loyal members as they become more comfortable to venture out and try to get some normality back into their lives. Although we are not completely back to trading pre COVID-19, many of your favourite promotions are commencing in the coming weeks and before long we hope to be completely back to normal. We have continued with all the above measures and will continue to follow the NSW Heath recommendations, but we do believe some of the above measures will never leave us which is a testament to the changing times we live in. Knowing what we have all endured, we hope you feel safe and feel comfortable coming back to your Club. We look forward to seeing you soon. Ian Todd ACCM Chief Executive Officer

MEDAL OF THE ORDER OF AUSTRALIA AWARDED WE ARE PROUD TO ANNOUNCE KINGSGROVE RSL CLUB PRESIDENT MR ALAN BARNES HAS BEEN CONFERRED THE MEDAL OF THE ORDER OF AUSTRALIA (OAM), IN THE 2020 QUEEN'S BIRTHDAY HONOURS FOR HIS SERVICE TO VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES. The OAM is an Australian society of honour bestowed annually since 1975, and is the highest civil recognition for outstanding achievement or meritorious service appointed. A Vietnam veteran, Mr Barnes was called up for National Service at age 22, and saw duty in Vietnam serving with the 9th Battalion in 1968-69. Once returning home to the civilian life, he pursued a career in international logistics, traveling within the Asia-Pacific region, and working alongside the Department of Defence. As the Kingsgrove RSL Sub-Branch President since 1998, and Kingsgrove RSL Club President since 2006, Mr Barnes continues to demonstrate his dedication and care towards ensuring the welfare of veterans, their families and the wider community. Mr Barnes has actively engaged in a multitude of initiatives to assist veteran’s welfare and preserve the memories and traditions of the Returned Service League (RSL). These include, hosting and attending multiple Commemorative and Memorial Services throughout the community for ANZAC Day, Coral Sea Day, Victory in the Pacific Day and Remembrance Day. For his distinguished service to the RSL (both National and at State level), Mr Barnes was awarded with Life Membership to the RSL in May 2011. "The welfare of veterans is important and so is educating the students in the importance of the Anzac message, because they are the future. They are the ones who will keep Anzac Day going," Mr Barnes said. His belief that education surrounding the history and traditions of the ANZACs is vitally important to preserving memories of Australian culture, motivates Mr Barnes continuous charitable participation in so many local community programs. Mr Barnes volunteers his time to various schools in the local community, including St. Ursula’s College, providing Q & A to year 11 students as part of their Australian History educational program.
Kingsgrove RSL Club president, Sub-branch president, and Vietnam veteran, Mr Alan Barnes, OAM JP Kingsgrove RSL Club’s annual School ANZAC Day Commemorative Service was inaugurated by his connection and service to thirteen local schools. Where school students help to build and actively participate in the ceremony; with students running the order of service, giving speeches and laying wreaths, while additional students from each school and guests of the Kingsgrove RSL Sub Branch attend to commemorate the service. This format has since been duplicated and implemented by other RSL Clubs. Mr Barnes has held many roles and associations within the RSL community and with ClubsNSW. As Kingsgrove RSL Club President, he continues to support the next generation by encouraging junior sports such as the Kingsgrove Colts Football Club, Hurstville United, St Ursula's Netball Team and Kingsgrove Cricket Team. One of his proudest associations, has been with the Home for Heroes project with RSL & Services Clubs Association which finds accommodation for veterans who have fallen on hard times or are suffering from Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It is an honour, to have Mr Alan Barnes lead our Club into the future, as he continues to make an outstanding contribution to our members and to our community. His self-sacrifice and discipline are evident in his responsibility as Club President and his commitment to educating and leading the way for all to understand the sacrifice of those who served in the defence of our nation. "There's a lot we can do in the community to give back,” Mr Barnes said We congratulate Mr Alan Barnes, OAM JP in all his achievements past and present, and learn from his example to ensure our community is supported, and we never lose sight of the ANZAC Spirit of Endurance, Mateship, Sacrifice and Courage. SUB BRANCH PRESIDENT Welcome to our midyear Burst report. The weather for ANZAC Day was great, with a crisp morning turning into a beautiful sunny day however, this was not your normal ANZAC Day with the Government banning ANZAC Day services due to the Covid-19 virus, we were advised to acknowledge the day with a driveway service at your home, I know many of our members held drive way services as I did with a number of neighbours joining in.
Branch meeting on Monday 24th August at 6.30 pm. I would suggest you check the Clubs website if there is any change.
The Club and Sub-Branch obtained permission from the local Police Command to hold an ANZAC Day service with only two Sub-Branch members participating, John Graham and myself did a short service and laid wreaths at both the Club memorials, a wreath provided by the Federal Member of Barton Linda Burney was laid by a Police Officer from the local command. The ceremony was live streamed and can be seen on the SubBranch page of the Club website. My thanks to staff member Sarah Mezentsef for videoing the service.
There have been no FSMDC Meetings since Ingleburn RSL in February, the NSW RSL State Congress originally set down for October has been moved back to early December hopefully it will go ahead.
On Wednesday the 22nd April the Bayside Council Mayor Joe Awada came to the Club and laid a wreath to recognize ANZAC Day on behalf of the residents, I also laid a wreath on behalf of the Club and Sub-Branch members, our thanks to the Mayor for acknowledging ANZAC Day.
My special thanks to John Graham and Neil Arena and Club Manager Ian Todd who nominated me for my Order of Australia Medal (OAM), it takes more than one person and with the likes of John, Neil and the rest of the Committee, not forgetting the late Bob Gehrig, they all my role as President so much easier, we have a great Sub Branch here at Kingsgrove.
Unfortunately, due to Government restrictions we had to cancel the Sub-Branch Battle of the Coral Sea Commemoration Service set down for Sunday the 3rd May. Due to these restrictions we have also cancelled our VP Day Commemoration Service and luncheon that was set down for the 9th August. We are very hopeful our Remembrance Day service will go ahead on the 8th November. Note at this time we will be holding our next bi-monthly Sub-
Your Committee held a meeting on the 22nd June with various items being discussed in particular the Sub Branch program for the remainder of the year, we will have to be flexible as changes to what you can and cannot do are basically changed every week.
I have attended a District Council Presidents meeting via Zoom on the 27th May, the new Constitution, Standing Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and the NSW RSL operation were discussed, we are now waiting on input from the District Councils mid-July.
In the meantime, please ensure you stay safe and practice social distancing. “You are only young once, but you can stay immature indefinitely” Alan R. Barnes OAM JP President

S P O R T S A D M I N I S T R AT O R I hope you have all been well over the last couple of months as we have seen the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown affected not only our Club but also our Sporting Clubs. In March prior to the pandemic the Round Robin Fishing Competition was to be held but unfortunately due to bad weather this had to be postponed to a date in the future.
Club, they will need to wait a while longer to finally get all their tables back in the Sports Lounge as this area is currently being used, to make sure Social Distancing Laws are adhered to with our gaming machines.
Since the easing of the COVID-19 restrictions, two of our Sporting Clubs, the Golf Club and the Fishing Club have been able to enjoying their sporting competitions, once again in a limited capacity and adhering to social distancing.
For the safety of all if you have a fever, cough, runny nose or loss of smell or taste, please do go to your Doctor and get tested. Please keep yourself well and safe during this period, continue to practise physical social distancing of 1.5 metres and don’t forget to practise good hygiene and wash your hands regularly. Looking forward to further easing of restrictions and back to a bit of normality to our sporting activities soon.
With the easing of more restrictions and health advice regarding group gathering, the Darts Club hopefully will be able to recommence their Friday night competition. However, unfortunately for the Snooker

K I N G S G ROV E RS L S P O RT I N G C LU BS FISHING CLUB With Covid-19 (coronavirus) running rampant throughout the world, a sincere thank you to our fishing club members who have been and still are, working in essential services; your hard work and patience is truly appreciated. Thank you also, to those fishing club members checking on the welfare of others during these worrying times. It was fantastic to hear of government regulations recently being lifted, allowing us to fish in various locations. Members Gavin and Nathan made the most of being able to once again fish offshore in Sydney waters, managing to land some huge kingfish, snapper and a 45cm John Dory. Congratulations fellas. In May, a fishing charter was organised by Ian and 8 x fishing club members left from Wollongong Harbour on 31st May; reporting back that a large number and variety of species of fish were caught by everyone; I believe that junior member George Braithwaite may have even out-fished a couple of those on board. It’s great to see our younger fisho’s eager to get out on the water and give the big boys a run. The next fishing charter is planned for 27th June from Greenwall Point which is almost booked out. Another charter is planned for 8th August 2020 with Tony Davis (Fishfinder Charters) leaving from Birchgrove Wharf. Anyone interested in attending any of these charters are advised to contact KRSL Reception and leave a message for Ian, who will return calls and give specifics of allowable participant numbers and overall costs and inclusions. Due to governing laws regarding social distancing, numbers of attendees on charters may be limited and at the discretion of the Charter Captains. Plans are underway by the committee to organise a planned weekend away to Shoalhaven Heads units on 19th, 20th and 21st June. A number of members are looking forward to finally getting out of 32

Sydney and catch up with everyone (socially distancing, of course). I hear that some serious fishing is envisaged in nearby rivers/oceans, making up for lost time during mandated social isolation. We have had a couple of new members with their own boats join our fishing club recently and are looking forward to having other boat owners showing them “secret fishing spots” in and around Sydney and surrounds. Hope everyone is keeping safe and well, See you on the water,

SNOOKER CLUB
DARTS CLUB
Sadly, due to the Club closure, and Government health advise to stay home, we haven’t been able to gather and play over the last couple of months. All social snooker and tournaments were suspended in March 2020 and now just waiting to see how the Government will ease its regulations at the Club. As soon as the Club is able, they will let us know when we can resume our social games in Club’s Sports Lounge, in the meantime stay healthy and keep safe.
There is not a lot to report this Burst as we have all been in lock down. All social and competition darts were cancelled in March 2020, and we are just waiting to see what the government does in the future before we recommence our tournaments and competitions. Our Friday social darts is now set to restart, Friday 3rd July 2020, however due to social distancing, will be insisting on all members to play with their own darts. Looking forward to seeing you all back each Friday, new members always welcome, in the meantime stay safe and keep alert.

COMMUNITY GROUP Hope everyone is surviving our isolation. I have been in touch with our ladies in the group and they have been busy with their craft items. I have had a few orders from our Club members during the isolation and we are happy to do any orders you may have. If you want anything done just leave your name and phone number at reception and we will get back to you. We are doing items for nursing homes for Christmas and hats for cancer patients as well as blankets for the elderly in hospital and

WOM E N’S AUX I L I A RY As we have been in isolation during the Covid 19 virus we have not been able to participate in any meetings and activities. However, once we were allowed to meet again at the club 10 of our members were able to meet for lunch at Jade Palace. It was delightful to see one another. Although we had kept in touch by phone, text or emails it is not quite the same. On the Monday of the Queen’s Birthday Weekend a few of us met for Morning Tea of scones and cream at Rations Dining. That was an enjoyable occasion. I hope everyone has been keeping well during this trying time, Well hopefully life will soon get back to normal
