With a gift to the Head of School’s Priority Fund, you will allow for nimble action to address the emerging needs of the School and to take advantage of unexpected opportunities as they arise throughout the year. Those needs could be anything from a student request for more outside play equipment, to the completion of class composites. The Head of School’s Priorities Fund is the School’s unrestricted fund that can support the most area on campus. If you love KES and want to support it in every way, this fund is for you!
With a gift to the Accessibility Enhancement Fund, you will remove physical accessibility barriers across campus. The KES campus is historic and beautiful, but not many building are fully physically accessible. Your support of this fund will start the process of making the campus fully accessible.

Common Room Couch
These couches are used every day and become the heart of each house. After a long day of class and activity, having a place to sit down and settle in with a book or a movie is a welcome comfort for our boarding community. Your support will allow for the purchase of robust yet comfortable couches for the common rooms.

Each residence has its own common room – a place for everyone to come together and relax, make food, and socialize. Any amount of support makes a difference, and with a full common room makeover, a naming opportunity exists. Your support of this fund will ensure that students who live on campus have a world outside of their academic lives.

Updating the TVs in common rooms will allow for students to connect their own devices, have house movie nights, and access to a wider range of options. Your support of this fund will allow for the update of these devices which are regularly used by the boarding community.

Speciality desks used in classrooms allow for a room to be configured to the needs of for each individual class. These desks are self-contained units with a desk and a place for the student’s bag to be stored. Your support of the Speciality Desk Fund will allow for this level of customization throughout our academic spaces.

Your support of the General Classroom Enhancement Fund will allow for the update of classrooms throughout our academic spaces. Academia has existed on this campus for centuries and your support will allow for the continual updates needed in these historic spaces.

These standing desk are often requested by faculty and staff so that they can complete their desk work in an optimal position. Your support of the Standing Desk Fund will allow for more of these to be purchased, making for a healthier and more active work environment.

As students become less reliant on cellphones in the classroom, your support of the Digital Camera Fund will allow students to capture the world around them. Not only will these cameras be used in a class setting, they can also be used during co-curricular activities throughout the year.
Along with the Digital Camera Fund, the Media Editing Hub Fund will allow for a space for students to edit their photos. This will also be an oppotunity for them to learn about editing software and delvelop skills that they can use well past their time at KES.

Updating theatre lighting has been on an ongoing project in the Fountain Performing Arts Centre. Your support of the Theatre Lighting Fund will allow for the purchase of these LED strip lights, bringing the total update of this lighting system one step closer to completion.

By supporting the General Outdoor Enhancement Fund, you will be supporting all outdoor initiatives including the fire pit, outdoor games such as spikeball and ball hockey, and upkeep of our fleet of school bicycles.

As part of a Green Schools Nova Scotia initiative, having pollinator gardens on campus will serve as a learning opportunity and a way to support nature. These gardens will attract insects needed for pollination in Nova Scotia and will add to the beauty that already exists on the KES campus.

With the latest addition of tetherball and outdoor ping pong, it’s hard to walk through campus and not see a ball in use. Your support of the Outdoor Balls Fund will increase students’ options when they are looking for their next outdoor activity.

The addition of two swingsets in recent years have quickly become their own epicentres. From dawn to dusk, these swings are used constantly by students in every grade. Your support of the Swing Set Fund will allow the addition of more swings across campus that are strong enough for a student in any grade to slow down and enjoy their childhood.
