“
The knowledge and values that King’s instills in its students help shape confident, well-rounded individuals and inspire them throughout their life paths as change-makers of a shared future of peace and opportunity.
”
– His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan
WHO WE ARE King’s Academy was founded in 2007 to create what His Majesty King Abdullah II called “a new tribe in the region… the tribe of the talented meritocracy.” It is the region’s first independent and coeducational boarding and day school, blending an American model of college-preparatory education with an appreciation for the culture and heritage of the Middle East. King’s offers a comprehensive English-language course of study from Grade 7 through Grade 12 in a safe, nurturing, purpose-built residential environment full of green space and fresh air. The current enrollment is 480 with 122 students in Grade 12. Diversity is one of our greatest strengths and is reflected in a school community that draws students from every corner of Jordan and 41 countries around the world. We are peerless in the region in promoting access to education, having committed over US $4.3M in 2025–2026 to provide students with the opportunity to study at King’s. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization supported entirely by tuition revenue and philanthropy. King’s Academy’s Guiding Principles are Respect, Responsibility, Love of Learning, an Integrated Life and Global Citizenship. These are reinforced through our Harkness-style method of classroom learning, our emphasis on relationship-building and mattering in all aspects of school life and our boarding program.
ACADEMIC PROGRAM King’s Academy is a selective institution providing an AP curriculum and post-AP classes. Students need 24 credits to graduate and will take a minimum of six per academic year, distributed as follows: Four-Year Curriculum Requirements (one credit is equivalent to one full-year class) English

Grades are issued at the end of the fall and spring semesters on a letter scale, and D (60) is the minimum passing grade. Unweighted, cumulative high-school GPA on a 4.0 scale is calculated at the end of each academic year, beginning in Grade 9. King’s does not rank its students. Each year, the top 20 percent of Grade 12 students are awarded cum laude distinction based on a calculation that includes an additional half-credit for each AP and post-AP class. The grade scale and course key are included on students’ transcripts. Universities will receive students’ fall semester grades as mid-year reports by mid-January. Final grades and transcripts are issued by mid-June. For the 2026–2027 academic year, 28 AP classes are offered: 2-D Art and Design Art History Biology Calculus AB Calculus BC Chemistry Chinese Language and Culture Comparative Government and Politics Computer Science A Computer Science Principles Drawing English Language and Composition English Literature and Composition European History

Students taking an AP class are expected to take the AP exam, although seniors may elect to opt out. Post-AP classes are conditional upon a student’s completion of the required AP prerequisites and departmental approval and prioritize student-led, project-based work. For the 2026–2027 academic year, five full-year post-AP classes are offered: Engineering Design Linear Algebra Multivariable Calculus Neuroscience Topics in College-Level Computing
King’s students pledge to adhere to an Honor Code on all graded work and assessments. They are prohibited from using Generative AI tools, including AI editing and writing services, for any student work unless a classroom teacher explicitly permits such use. Co-curriculars are built into the schedule four days a week. Varsity athletes and students active in music and theater, student government organizations, literary publications, STEM and pre-professional clubs, and King’s many charitable and community-based initiatives have an extended school day.
