The Steward Leader

2017 LEADERS CONFERENCE - YOUR KINGDOM COME Join us on Saturday, October 21st at Kingfisher church, Tredworth for a day of inspiring worship, anointed teaching and spiritual refreshing as Kingfisher leaders meet for the 2017 LEADERS CONFERENCE.

There are some leaders who just seem to be so much more effective than others. They seem to have more energy, more drive, more ability to stay on top of things than other leaders perhaps you know someone like that. What is it about them - are they just born this way, have they got better resources, more people around them than other people? None of these is really the reason why they perform at a consistently high level. The real reason is that they understand and practice good stewardship. Good Great leaders stewardship and good leadership walk hand-inhand, and yet it is alarming how many leaders recognise the ignore the importance of stewardship and are as a result, less effective, more distracted and a lot importance of more frustrated in their area of leadership.

great stewardship.

With the theme of ‘Your Kingdom Come’, we are going to be focussing on developing God’s Kingdom story in our lives, on seeing Kingdom power released in our lives, on together becoming Kingdom people, and in the light of that, we will be discovering together a major Kingdom initiative that He is seeking to release in our church. This is a day to experience the power and presence of His Kingdom, to be refreshed, empowered and encouraged.

The word, stewardship, simply means to manage someone else's property. For the Christian, as Scripture proclaims that everything belongs to God, we manage the property of our Lord, and as the Parable of the Talents reminds us, we are called to manage, or steward, that property well. There are three specific areas in our lives that, stewarded well, make an incredible difference to our effectiveness both as leaders and as disciples of Christ.

Stewardship of our time Really effective leaders steward their time well; they realise how easy it is to get distracted by activities that are not part of their calling or their giftedness, and they continually ask the question, not: ‘Am I able to do this?’, but ‘Am I called to do this?’. Truly effective leaders realise what the Apostles in Acts 6 realised: “We apostles should spend our time preaching and teaching the word of God, not administering a food program.” (Acts 6:2, NLT)
