Parents guide to sports admin website

Using the Sports Fixtures Website: A Parents’ Guide From September 2015 all sports fixtures will continue to be displayed on the School calendar but they will also be hosted on the website by a new provider. This will enable parents to easily find all relevant details for fixtures in which their sons or daughters are involved.

The aim of this guide is to help parents navigate the site to find the information they require. I hope you find it useful. Should you have any comments about the efficacy of its use please do not hesitate to contact me on dk@kes.hants.sch.uk.

Accessing sports fixtures: Click on 'parents' tab along the top bar and select the sports fixtures link in left hand menu.

This will launch the King Edward VI School Sports Site hosted by Sports Pro. This gives a number of options, the most useful of which on a regular basis are: 1) 2) 3) 4)

Access to the sports, teams, fixtures and results Access to the sports calendar Opponents maps and links KES sports contacts

Sports, teams, fixtures and results Selecting this option will take you to the list of sports for which there are teams that represent the School. You should then select the appropriate sport to find the required details.

Staff contact: Should you need to contact the member of staff taking your child's team you will be able to access a link to their email address direct from the team list page:

Fixtures and results: From the team list you should select the team you are interested in which will bring up the list of fixtures and results. In addition you will find three other useful functions: the opportunity to download the fixtures to your calendar, the fixture details and the team sheet.

Downloading the calendar Click the Download to Your Calendar button and then follow the instructions provided to subscribe to your team's fixture list.

The team sheet: To access the team sheet click on the icon and the team sheet will appear (as below). This gives you the details of each fixture and the team selected. Please note that for Child Protection reasons we do not include surnames.

The Sports Calendar To access the calendar select the Sports Calendar option in the main menu. All fixtures, competitions and events are visible in this.

Calendar Controls Using the calendar view controls you can select to view a Month, Week, Today or Today's Teams.

Month View  

The calendar opens by default in the Month view for the current month, with the current day highlighted.

Click any day to go to that day. Below you will see the Sports Pro example of this from the KES Site.

Week View. 

Use the Week Calendar control to select a particular week.

Day View.    

Click any day to go to that day.

Click any sport to see the fixtures occurring on the selected day and more details.

Click any tab to see Fixtures, Competitions or Other Events.

Use the Day Calendar control to select a particular day.

Opponents Maps and Links

Accurate directions and maps to all opposition grounds can be found by clicking the link on the left hand menu and then selecting the school you require.

KES sports contacts You can find the email contact details of the heads of each sport by selecting the sports contact tab.
