BLESSINGS UPON BLESSINGS!

“From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another” (John 1:16).

Welcome to Issue 2! I trust that the sample and inaugural issues blessed and encouraged you. As I pondered my opening words for this edition, I was guided by John 1:16. In this passage, we see Jesus as the "Abundant” God. This is important because many of you have endured droughts, some lasting days, months, and even years. When this happens, it's crucial to embrace the grace of the Father, knowing that the God of droughts also brings forth gracious blessings one after another. Yes, God has a way of balancing life's challenges.

Reflecting on John 1:16, we see Christ described as the "Word became flesh, full of unfailing love and faithfulness." The Amplified version beautifully emphasizes this, stating, "For out of His fullness [the superabundance of His grace and truth] we have all received grace upon grace [spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing, favor upon favor, and gift heaped upon gift]."

While droughts, affliction, and hard times contribute to spiritual growth, remember that God never intended you to dwell in perpetual dilemmas. I pray that you recognize His fullness and that those who have remained faithful despite perpetual loss can look forward to experiencing "one gracious blessing after another."

And these blessings are possible only because they stem from His abundance, not ours.

“Where Grace Meets Her Story” 7

Salmon in Roasted Pepper Sauce Keto Friendly, (from Cooktoria.com)

Ingredients 2 salmon filets (skin on about 1 lb.)

Salt & pepper 1 tbsp. olive oil 1 tbsp butter 3 cloves garlic finely diced 4 oz. roasted red peppers diced 4 cups fresh baby spinach 1/2 cup Half & Half or heavy cream 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese 1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes 1/4 cup chopped parsley

Method 1. Season one salmon filet with salt & pepper 2. Heat the oil in a medium non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook the salmon filets flesh side down first, for 5 minutes on each side or until cooked until your liking.

Once cooked remove from the pan and set aside.

3. To the same pan add butter and garlic. Cook 1 minute, add the roasted peppers, and cook for 2 more minutes.

4. Add spinach and allow it to melt 5. Reduce heat to low, and add Half & Half, Parmesan, red pepper flakes, parsley, salt, and pepper, Stir and bring to simmer.

6. Return the salmon to the pan & spoon sauce over each filet.

7. Serve over pasta, rice, r steamed vegetables.

No One Can Walk In Your Miracle "Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its place at daybreak. The Egyptians were fleeing toward it, and the Lord swept them into the sea"

(Ex. 14:27).

Oh, what a mighty deliverance when God heard the cries of the Israelites. You know the story about their bondage of 358 years. But please allow me to recount briefly for those who don't know it. The Israelites' slavery and release depict their oppression in Egypt under Pharaoh's rule.

Despite their harsh bondage, God hears their cries and sends Moses to deliver them. With plagues that shook the very foundations of Egypt, God set the stage for the ultimate showdown between divine authority and human tyranny.

As Pharaoh's grip on the Israelites weakened, hope flickered like a flame in the darkness. Finally, the Israelites traversed toward freedom, but chaos descended once more. The thundering hooves of Egyptian chariots echoed ominously as the Israelites found themselves trapped between the Red Sea and the wrath of their oppressors. God spoke to Moses with the remedy to lift his rod and stretch his hand over the Red Sea. Then, miraculously, the Red Sea opens, and God's children traverse on dry ground.

When God designs something specifically for you, it grants you access into your deliverance.

However, if others attempt to duplicate or step into the way made for you, they are met with failure, and in some cases, even peril.

But there's a problem! The Egyptians saw the 'opened way' that God made for His children as an opportunity to walk into something that wasn't designed for them.

With hardened heart and twisted thinking, the Egyptians pursued God's children.

But God wasn't having it, so He closed the Red Sea on their enemies! The Bible puts it like this: "The Egyptians you see today you will never see again" (Exodus 14:13).

When you notice opportunities arising where there were once obstacles, it signifies that the 'ground is dry,' and it's time to move forward. Trust that God orchestrated your release. Don't be concerned about those who try to imitate or follow you because they cannot metaphorically drown if they do not follow you. And don't be concerned even when the call is to drive out the enemy and possess the land. Rest assured that God will give you the blueprint for success. And that not even the most cunning adversary can step into a miracle intended by God for your deliverance.

What's the moral of the story? When it is your daybreak, paved way, or a new day, your enemies may try to follow, duplicate, or walk in the way God made for you. But fear not, and please remember these words, "No one can walk in your miracle!"

CRAZY TO SAVE!

As I approached my street, I noticed something in the road up ahead in the opposite lane. Blown by the wind, a twig with several dead leaves scampered across the road. As a car approached the twig, a gust of wind blew it toward the median. The closer I drove, I knew there was something peculiar about this twig. It seemed to have a mind all its own. It had such precision of movement. Then I realized that what I saw was not a branch with dead leaves, but several goslings trying to cross a three-lane road.

Attempting to cross together, they would scurry back to the median because of an approaching vehicle.

Where was the mother? I thought.

By this time I had passed my street and hurried to look after the motherless goslings. I looked around for the mother, but she was nowhere in sight. I couldn’t stand there and watch them get pancaked, so I waved and yelled, trying to get traffic to stop on a three-lane road with drivers exceeding the 45-mph speed limit.

At times, embracing radical actions becomes not just an option but a necessity, even if it means appearing unconventional or "crazy" to others.

And there I was, like the goslings, running to the safety of the median from an oncoming dump truck that had decided not to stop for woman or fowl. I was unsuccessful at getting the traffic to stop and the birds to cease their back-and-forth attempts to cross the road. I saw a worker in the distance wearing an official orange vest, so I got in my car, went to him, and told him the situation. Placating a desperate woman, he said, “I’m coming.” I jumped back in the car and raced to be with the motherless goslings. When I returned, they were gone. I looked for furry pancakes on the road, but there were none. Then I saw that they had made it to the safety of the other side, walking in their synchronized fashion like little wind-up toys. The worker came, and I pointed to the goslings scurrying off to green pastures, a lake, and prayerfully geese that would protect them.

When I got in the car, I thought how crazy I probably seemed to the drivers who whizzed past, disregarding my waving or yelling... but I realized that there are a lot of people, like orphans, widows, the impoverished, the gay community, victims of sex trafficking, etc. . ., who need someone who will not mind appearing crazy in order to save their lives.

Millions are lost and don’t know it, trying to get through life without a scratch, not seeing the obstacles aimed at their destruction. But we see them. We were there once … in the middle of a road, a highway . . . an interstate.

Yeshua showed us how to be “crazy to save.” He saw us on a highway moving like robots. He came down in the midst of the traffic, metaphorically stood in front of a speeding dump truck so we could cross the road safely to the other side . . . To . . .

• A place beside still waters.

• A place where the pastures are green.

• A place where we’re comforted by His staff and rod.

• A place where we shall not want...or fear.

PRAYER: Thank you, Abba, that when we didn’t know where we were going or how we were going to get there, you did. There was this huge chasm between us and you, and you did something absolutely crazy to bridge it. You used a cross and your life. No more scurrying to and fro for us. No motherless goslings are we! We have safe footing on Yeshua the Rock, a place where fear does not exist, where a Father says, “You are no longer orphans. I found you, I saved you. You are mine.” May we, as your daughters, do as our Father has done … be crazy to save.

She is a retired English, journalism, and visual language teacher, having completed 30 years of exemplary service in the Virginia Beach City Public Schools. For ten years she provided servant leadership as Pastoral Liaison and Director of Ministries to fifteen ministries at Tidewater Bibleway Temple. Having served six years as president of Tidewater Bible College, she is a consummate Bible teacher, conference speaker, and workshop leader. Playwright and prolific author, she published several booklets, Mary and Martha: Jesus’ Worship and Praise Team and The Trapped Messiah; three books Journey Beyond Imagination, God STILL Uses Vessels and coauthored Sheroes of the Faith; several devotionals Walking Daily with the Father, That I Might Know Him, and others; and she has written and produced several original plays. An ordained minister with Evangelical Christian Alliance, Min. Weiss served in ministry along with her husband at Beth Messiah Synagogue under the leadership of Rabbi Joseph Rosenfarb, under whose tutelage she was enlightened to and ultimately embraced the Jewish roots of her faith. Sacred Union Spotlight Insights From Elder Alisa Jackson

Okay, ladies, in this issue of Sacred Union Spotlight, we're privileged to delve into the wisdom of Elder Alisa Jackson, a woman of God who has gracefully navigated the journey of marriage for 18 years and counting. Let's get straight to it and unpack the invaluable pearls of insight she has shared.

Marriage is a beautiful union between a man and a woman but it also presents opportunities for growth.

Elder Alisa highlights the beauty of marriage, describing it as an opportunity to share life, laughter, and ministry with one's husband. Despite its beauty, challenges inevitably arise. For instance, how do you respond when your husband says something disagreeable? She states, "Make sure Jesus is your Savior, and pray to Him about everything." Moreover, venting to people can be therapeutic. But it's crucial to approach it thoughtfully.

Reflective questions to consider include: Is this gossip?

Will sharing this embarrass him?

Will sharing this endanger anyone?

Would I want him to disclose this about me?

She adds that God's word has much to say about speaking slowly and taming the tongue, stating, "We do well to heed the word." Reflect on James 3:8-10, 17: the tongue, though small, is like a forest fire, a world of iniquity.

Consider that it might be time to take a break from talking. Know that godly wisdom is "pure, peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy, and good fruits" (see James 3:17).

Embrace Humility & Encouragement Yes, God created you as an intelligent being.

However, Elder Alisa reminds readers that there is always room to learn and grow. She suggests acknowledging and verbalizing errors by saying, "You are right." She points out the importance of embracing growth by practicing humility and sincerity. She recommends avoiding a condescending tone when addressing matters of concern.

Additionally, it is important to encourage one's spouse, noting that even a small gesture of encouragement "goes a long way."

So, my sisters in the Lord, feel free to apply these timeless principles in your marriage and remember to nurture love, humility, and joy along the way.

Live on the Light Side Elder Alisa emphasizes that marriage is a picture of Christ and the church. So, as wives, we should seek to reflect holiness and happiness in our marriages. She adds: "Live on the 'light side' because women can be pretty serious sometimes. There are so many important things on our plates! However, if you've done all you can, consider it may be time to rest.

Sit back and smile at your progress.

Laugh a little! Take time to smell the flowers before you turn ninety-nine years old."

Disarmed!

"And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross" (Col. 2:15 ).

The power of the Cross still works today!

I know it might feel like ages for some of you since you've seen any results. But I pray that you do not give up. Here’s why.

We're not calling the shots in the Christian journey—God is. His ways aren't like ours; neither is His timetable. And rest assured, He's never anxious about rescuing His children. So, if you find yourself at the end of your rope, with Satan seemingly gaining ground, remember that his ‘day of disarming’ is already determined. In simple terms, ‘every demon has its doomsday!’

Kingdom Woman When thinking about the symbol of the Cross, remember the word 'disarmed.'

In Greek, 'disarm' means to strip off or thoroughly renounce completely.

Yes, the work of the Cross stripped Satan of his powers! When something is disarmed, it's on lockdown and incapable of performing customary tasks. It's like being in handcuffs! It is necessary to disarm Satan today because what he did in the Garden of Eden still affects us today. Adam and Eve were at the precipice of choice.

Will they listen to God or the sinister serpent?

Sadly, the serpent's influence overtook them. Thus, the fall of man.

However, God had a plan in his infinite wisdom. In Genesis 3:15, God promised: "I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel."

This is a Messianic prophecy, a passage that points to the Messiah.

And Psalm 68:21 speaks of God's triumph over his enemies: "Surely God will crush the heads of his enemies, the hairy crowns of those who go on in their sins." Here, we see a foreshadowing of the ultimate victory to come. Jesus, the sinless Lamb of God, would bear the weight of humanity's transgressions upon his shoulders, enduring the agony of the Cross to pave the way for redemption.

Fast-forward, and we find ourselves amidst the tumultuous landscape of Jerusalem, where whispers of revolution mingled with the fragrance of hope. Jesus, the long-awaited Messiah, walked among the people, and his every step was a declaration of purpose—a divine footprint stepping on earth and metaphorically crushing the enemy's head! Little did the forces of darkness realize that their end was nigh.

Kingdom Woman As Jesus hung upon the rugged Cross, surrounded by scoffers and soldiers, the very powers of hell seemed to converge upon him. But Satan played right into God's hands. Colossians 2:15 declares the triumphant culmination of this battle: "And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross." Now that’s a place to shout!

Jesus achieved the most significant victory of all time at the very moment that seemed like defeat. With His dying breath, He shattered the chains of sin and death, delivering a fatal blow to Satan's schemes.

Through His resurrection, He empowered us to disarm Satan's works. The Cross stands as our profound and complete victory, echoing the power of divine love through the ages. From these truths, three practical applications emerge:

1. Recognize the reality of spiritual warfare: Just as Jesus faced opposition from the forces of darkness, so do we encounter spiritual battles. By acknowledging the existence of these struggles, we can arm ourselves with the Word of God and stand firm in faith.

2. Embrace the timeless victory of the Cross: Today you are victorious!

The Cross is not merely a symbol of suffering; it is a testament to God's ultimate triumph over sin and death. As followers of Christ, we are called to live in the victory secured for us through his sacrifice, walking in the freedom and power it provides.

3. Exercise your right as a as disarming agent: Jesus said “Behold I have given you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and all power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19). Jesus disarmed Satan with that final blow on the Cross. He triumphed victoriously!

We are ambassadors of Christ, armed with God's Word in our mouths and our faith on fire. So, use it!

The story of Jesus' triumph over Satan is much more than just a historical account. It is a living reality that shapes our lives today.

It's a blueprint that helps us overcome daily struggles, persecution, social ostracism, misunderstandings, spiritual warfare, temptation, mockery, family conflict, workplace issues, legal challenges, rejection, attacks, faith struggles, financial problems, and suffering for righteousness's sake. Whatever you face, consider it disarmed!

As we immerse ourselves in the lessons of Scripture, we can walk boldly in the light of God's victory. Allow me to close with the lyrics of a song written by a Pastor who once came to my local church to speak:

“Gloriously victoriously, I will sing unto the Lord; He has triumphed gloriously.

Gloriously, victoriously, I will dance before the Lord, He crushed the head of the enemy!”

Many of us spend years unaware of the locations of well-known Scriptures that we quote regularly. But those days are behind us now. Let's seize the moment, ladies! It's time to commit these verses and their location to memory!

When God Doesn’t Require Our Intervention

uring my leisure time, I indulge in cooking. In my kitchen rests an impressive cookware set with a semimatte, light gray finish, ensuring even cooking.

However, there's a catch –

the contemporary cast iron handles lack protective covering. If I'm not careful to remember this, I can burn myself when touching the pot without a potholder. In other words, I have to remember when it's safe to put my hands on the pot and when to keep my hands off. This kitchen scenario reflects a profound truth about our walk with God. We must be mindful of touching things or manipulation because it's like touching a blazing pot with bare hands. You will get burned! When God is orchestrating something, remember that He's the captain.

This rings true in the story of Abram and God's promise, where Sarai puts her hands in or manipulates the situation, and Abram follows her scheme. God promised Abram:

A son through his wife, Sarai Land The blessing of Abraham himself The blessing of the nations through Abram In biblical times, barrenness was a catastrophe, and the survival of the family line was of the highest value. But here's where things went south. Knowing God promised Abram a son, Sarai impatiently said, "The Lord has kept me from having children. Sleep with my slave: perhaps I can build a family through her." Notice she didn't say "God" can build a family.

Hence, be mindful when replacing 'God' with 'I.' Why? Because things only worsen when we do this.

Regrettably, Abram agreed to Sarai's request, and their bondservant Hagar conceived. When Hagar knew she was pregnant, she "despised" Sarai. (Gen. 16:4).

Things escalate as Sarai blames Abram for the disaster, saying, "You are responsible for the wrong I am suffering, I put my slave in your arms, and now that she knows she is pregnant, she despises me" (Gen. 16:5). Here's the breakdown of what went wrong:

1. Sarai usurped God's promise, manufacturing an outcome (see Gen. 16:2).

2. When Hagar became pregnant she despised Sarai (see Gen. 16:4).

3. Sarai blamed Abram for her misdeeds and distress (see Gen. 16:5).

4. Abram failed to stand firm in what God spoke to him. Instead, he consented to Sarai's flawed plan (see Gen. 16:2).

5. Abram avoided taking responsibility for the woman he impregnated by leaving the difficult decision of her future to Sarai, allowing her to do as she pleased with Hagar (see Gen. 16:6).

6. Sarai mistreated Hagar, exacerbating tensions (see Gen. 16:6).

7. Distressed and fleeing from Sarai, pregnant Hagar, escapes to the wilderness (see 16:6-12).

God’s Process

Picture a pregnant woman, homeless, emotionally overwhelmed, fleeing to the wilderness with no modern communication, restaurants, hotels, or bathrooms. But the angel of the Lord met Hagar at her place of need, gave instructions, and encouraged her.

This narrative underscores the perils of undue interference. While God requires us to do our part in faith and sometimes in actions or following instructions, there are times when He only asks for faith, not our intervention or manipulation.

I pray that you take a moment to evaluate your life and ask God to point out the areas you may have interfered with or manipulated to emulate the promise. If He reveals something, I encourage you to "remove your hands." Trust His process.

Elevate your faith. Remember, God doesn't half-do anything. He is the God who completes what He started (see Phil. 1:6).

Even when life's clock is ticking, rest in His promises, knowing that what God starts, He will finish.

THE NAMELESS WOMAN WITH A HISTORICAL MIRACLE

(MARK 5: 25-34)

By Daveta Brown In the bustling streets of a city in biblical times, a woman lived shrouded in misery. The Bible doesn't mention her name, but her miracle echoes throughout the ages. For years, she had suffered under the weight of sickness and agony, a prisoner to her own afflictions. Yet, amidst the throngs of bustling crowds, she dared to defy the odds. She, deemed "ceremonially unclean," an outcast confined to the shadows, resolved to weave her way through the sea of people.

With every step, she felt the weight of judgment and scorn pressing upon her. Society had branded her unclean, unworthy, and unfit to tread the city streets, let alone approach the revered Healer. But she refused to be bound by the shackles of societal norms. Driven by unwavering faith, she pressed forward, determined to reach out and touch the fringes of His shawl.

It was a risk, daring to defy convention, to be seen in public in her state of impurity. Yet, propelled by a courage born of desperation, she stretched out her trembling hand and brushed against the fabric that adorned the Healer's garment.

In that fleeting moment, amidst the chaos of the crowd, she felt a surge of power course through her veins. The years of suffering melted away, replaced by a newfound strength and vitality.

Take heart to all who find themselves weighed down by the burdens of life and mislabeling. For in the touch of faith, in the embrace of the divine, lies the power to rewrite your story, shed the labels of the past, and embrace the promise of a brighter future.

No longer defined by your struggles or shortcomings, you are cherished by the One who holds the universe in His hands. So, if you are nameless to people, unpopular, and perhaps unwanted, reach out in faith and discover the transformative power of Jesus. His miracles reintroduce those previously deemed sick, poor, unwanted, and unloved, renaming them healed, blessed, wanted, and loved! Press through and see how one transformative touch of faith results in a life-changing miracle.

No longer would she be known as the "woman with the issue of blood," shackled by her afflictions. In that transformative instant, she was reborn, christened with a new name – "the healed woman."

And so, the echoes of her story reverberate through the ages, a beacon of hope for all who dare to believe. Regardless of the burdens they carry or the trials they face, there is a promise of renewal, redemption, and reintroduction waiting to be claimed.

A little laughter lightens the day

So, here's a funny true story that happened to me at a mega church. Picture this: it's a sunny Sunday morning, and yours truly is getting dressed for church. I routinely sang on our church Praise Team in three consecutive services. I decided to wear a skirt that day. Then, while dressing, I suddenly realized I needed to wear an undergarment slip.

For those not in the know, slips were the ultimate wardrobe accessory back in the day. They were like superheroes of undergarments, swooping in to save the day by blocking any unwanted seethrough mishaps.

So there I am, rummaging through my closet, when I pick a half-slip and hear a gentle prompting of the Holy Spirit say, don't wear that slip; choose another one! But brushing it off, I put it on and continued dressing.

Fast-forward to the third service, which was the largest service with thousands of people mainly from DC, Maryland, and Virginia. I'm up there in the pulpit, microphone in hand, singing my heart out, tapping my feet, and raising my hands when disaster strikes! Like the fall of the Roman Empire, my half-slip decides to stage a dramatic exit to hit the floor!

I tried to hold back the laughs.

Imagine my embarrassment, with thousands of eyes fixed on the Praise Team, as my slip descends.

Panic mode is activated. But fear not, for in swoops, Jennifer, my sister in the Lord standing next to me, maneuvers the slip behind her feet, hiding it from view like a pro.

We finish the last song, and Jennifer discreetly asks another Team member to stand in front of her while she bends down, picks up the foot-folded slip, and escorts it off the stage. Later, in the confines of the ministry lounge, we're in tears with laughter! We could've been facing a total catastrophe, but Jen's quick thinking turned it into comedy.

So, what's the moral of the story, you ask? Listen to the still, small voice of the Holy Spirit, folks—it might just save you from unnecessary dilemmas or an epic wardrobe malfunction. And always, always give thanks for grace because, let's face it, we all need God’s grace. So, here's to laughter, even in the church, because it's genuinely like medicine.

The Message With a passion and burden for Godly relationships, Prophetess Lyles powerfully cohosted a recent podcast with her husband titled: Kairos Marriage: Understanding Love at God's Appointed Time. In this teaching, Prophetess Lyles defines "Kairos Marriage" as a "marriage at God's appointed time." She says kairos isn't random. Instead, it's divinely purposeful and intentional for a specific Godordained time. Her basis Scripture for Kairos Marriage is Ecclesiastes 3: 8 which says "There is a time to love."

Further, she is passionate in emphasizing the fact that while marriage is a blessing...singleness should not be viewed as a "curse". She stresses that often we want God to work "wonders" in our relationship status, but says, "Sometimes wonders require us to wait." And there's more. In the timeless, fiery, and muchneeded message Exposing Hell's Agenda, the Prophetess unveils Satan's tricks and strategies in nine words, beginning with the letter "P." Her theme Scripture, 2 Corinthians 2:11, "We are not ignorant of Satan's devices," sets the basis for her message. She begins by warning of the dangers of dabbling in dark arts, tarot cards, and burning sage, which attract evil spirits and give false peace. In her list of ways the enemy gains access, she begins with "Perception," meaning what and how you think about God matters. Next, "Places," meaning the locations we frequent, can influence our lives, like those who resided in Sodom and Gomorrah.

"People" refers to ungodly connections and relationships that leave toxic deposits. In talking about "Portals," Prophetess says, "Watch what you watch!" as our eyes are gates to our spirits that we must guard.

Prophetess Lyles continues that the enemy will use "Problems and Pain" to cause us to operate in "desperation instead of discernment." Because the power of life and death is in the tongue, negative "Proclamations" must be redacted and repented from.

The last words are "Predictions and Prophecy" as a warning not to consult spiritualists, witches, warlocks, tarot cards, fortune tellers, or horoscopes. She gives the remedy for these entanglements as prayer, repentance, and disconnecting from sinful practices. These are just a few excerpts from the many powerful messages she's preached and taught.

As I sat up in bed, the bird suddenly stopped. Then, I realized God set the stage to speak. In the stillness, the Holy Spirit began to reveal insights to me, and tears welled in my eyes as I confessed that a new day was dawning despite the darkness! Soon after, rays of sunlight streamed through my window, filling the room with warmth and hope.

At that moment, I said, "Yes, Lord. I will answer the call for my assignment. Despite the turbulence and moments of darkness, it's a new day, and You are in control!"

I don't know who this message is for, but I want to encourage you if you are in the turbulence of life; God speaks and settles every issue with His words.

Just like the bird that came to awaken me, I encourage you to get up and give attention to the message God speaks. Defy every voice except His! Know that daybreak is nigh and that the God of the universe is still in control. So, no matter how God chooses to speak to you, let your answer be yes!

Alright, ladies, let's dive into the final chat about the 4 C's of church attire. Are you ready to get that last piece of advice? But before we get into it, a quick recap is fitting. First up is "Conscious"—it's all about being aware of what you wear in church because it's a sacred space we're stepping into.

Next on the list is "Comfortable." Trust me, it's easier to focus on worship when your outfit isn't pinching, revealing too much, or riding up in all the wrong places, right?

Now, here's a curveball: "Cute." Yes, you heard me!

But don't get it twisted— when I say "Cute," I mean edgy, fashionable, and beautiful while still being totally appropriate.

#4 Christian The final "C" is "Christian." Have you ever purchased or picked out an outfit for church only to feel that gentle nudge from the Holy Spirit saying, "Uh-uh, not this"?

It's happened to me more times than I can count! And trust me,

it's best to listen when He speaks. Why? Because obedience is paramount, and the church isn't home, the park, movies, nor meant for sensual attire.

But here's the thing: we can look absolutely fabulous and still stay true to our Christian values.

I'm not talking about dull, boring outfits —tons of styles out there let us slay while still keeping it holy.

So, girl, remember—it's not about the clothes but the souls. Yet, we've got to wear something, right?

Hey ladies! Let's discuss something near and dear to many of our hearts: becoming grandparents. I might not be a grandma yet, but I've seen firsthand how amazing the transition can be for parents turned grandparents. My own parents? They dove in earlier than expected, pouring love and wisdom into my child like nobody's business.

So, if you unexpectedly join the grandparent club a bit earlier than planned, don't sweat it!

Trust that God's equipped you with what you need. And whatever else is needed, He will supply along the way.

Let’s take a few moments to look at a few Scriptures. Isaiah 46:4 tells us that even in old age, God “sustains” His children. Proverbs 17:6 says, “Children’s children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children.”

When thinking of a “crown,” it’s a reminder that grandparents should be treated as royalty for the investments and impact they add to their grandchildren’s lives.[1] Second Timothy 1:5 says, “I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.” Which emphasizes the importance of demonstrating and passing on biblical principles. So, here are seven practical tips to help you along the way: 39

LET THE CHURCH SAY

AMEN!

“Then he said unto me, Son of man, eat what you find; eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel” (Ezek. 3:1).

Are you saying 'amen' to everything God says?

Sitting in the Sunday morning service, you find yourself moved by the Pastor's impactful words, nodding in agreement, raising your hands, and saying amen!

But then comes a statement that gives you pause: "Get your house in order because order will lead you into the next dimension in your walk with God." While you recognize the truth in these words, you hesitate to respond with the same enthusiasm. You know you need to change, but saying amen, it’s not going to happen.

Many have experienced moments like this, where a message resonates deeply but requires the willingness to grasp and act upon it entirely. Yet, we encourage you to be the woman who says "amen" when you know God is speaking.

Amen" is not just a word, but a powerful affirmation that you actively engage with God's word, accepting it as truth. Derived from the Hebrew word for certainty, verily, and truth, it signifies an affirmation to let it be so.

God seeks those who agree with His word, whether His words are hard or soft.

Embrace all of God’s words, whether sweet or sour.

In an instance that relates to eating the entire word of God, the Lord instructed the prophet Ezekiel to metaphorically consume the scroll, and similarly, we see in Revelation 10:8-11 how John did the same and prophesied. This is not a mere physical act, but symbolic of a something spiritual with profound implications. It underscores the vital connection between absorbing the word of God and prophetic revelation. But let's dive deeper into what it means to "eat the word"? It signifies studying, internalizing, and assimilating God's word into our lives.

There is no way around this.

Even when the process of internalizing God's word feels uncomfortable, we are urged to embrace it fully. This discomfort is not a sign of failure or misunderstanding but a testament to the depth and complexity of God's word that’s “sharper than a two-edged sword” (Heb. 4:12).

Consider Revelation 10:8-11 says, "So I went to the angel and asked him to give me the little scroll. He said to me: "Take it and eat it.

It will turn your stomach sour, but in your mouth, it will be sweet as honey." Being sour may denote the "woes" of the massage's contents.

But when internalized we qualify to speak on God’s behalf.

On the other hand, there are times when the word brings joy: The prophet Jeremiah said, "Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and delight to my heart" (Jer. 15:16). Just as Jeremiah found joy in consuming God's words, so too can we discover joy and delight in embracing all aspects of His word. We should be like Ezekiel, Jeremiah, and John by approaching God and personally eating His word. Allow it to operate in us so that it may be digested and assimilated into our being. Then, we can speak the word of God that has been constituted into us [1].

My sisters in the Lord, we urge you to reflect and ask the Lord to reveal any instances where you may have selectively chosen what to accept and disregard from His word. Today marks a day of deliverance because you have the power to embrace God's word. So what will it be? We believe it's time for the church to say, "Amen!"

In the midst of the complexities within our modern, digitally driven world, it's crucial to recall that with steadfast determination and unwavering focus, we possess the capacity to chart our own course!

Amid an era defined by countless distractions and overpowering noise, pinpointing our purpose can often feel as intricate as trying to find a single grain of sand on a vast beach. The complexities often include several layers of responsibility which can often leave us feeling anxious and overwhelmed. We find ourselves bombarded with endless

information, distracted by constant notifications, and pulled in countless directions. In the face of these challenges, it is imperative that we discover the power of selfdetermination and persistent focus.

Thanks be unto God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ who gives the opportunity to discover our purpose!

Despite the many hats that we wear, change is the only constant. We must recognize the importance of charting our own course. We cannot give into the temptation of being mere passengers, drifting aimlessly in the currents of life. Instead, we must become the queens of our destiny, taking control of our lives with unwavering conviction. It is through self-determination that we find purpose and meaning amidst the chaos, steering ourselves toward success and fulfillment.

Picture this: It's the 17th century, and in the busy household of the Wesley family, a woman named Susanna Wesley shines as a beacon of determination and purpose.

Susanna, a mother of nineteen children (yes, you read that right, nineteen!), navigated the chaotic complexities of family life with stoicism and grace. You stand before your closet, pondering the difficult question: "What shall I wear?" After contemplating, you nod decisively, declaring, "Ah, my favorite pair of jeans!" You slip them on with eager anticipation, only to encounter a frustrating obstacle – they won't zip up! Frustration courses through your veins as you fling yourself onto the bed, wrestling with the zipper, desperately hoping for closure. Finally, the harsh truth dawns upon you: "I'm too fat for this!" It's a reality that many face, a bitter pill to swallow. However, amidst the struggle, there comes a time when being "too fat" breaks the cycle of frustration rather than exacerbating it.

The yoke metaphor symbolizes heavy servitude and domination, particularly by foreign powers.

Yokes bind draft animals together, ensuring they pull in unison and restrain people used as beasts of burden. Breaking the yoke signifies liberation from oppression. And in Isaiah 10:27, "oil" denotes fat, oil, or productivity.

When God anoints someone, He separates them for His purpose. As you grow in your relationship, divine power intersects with heaven's timing, causing yokes of oppression to shatter, releasing you from constraints that once held you back. Not even life's most formidable Assyrians can withstand the growth God bestows upon you. Suddenly, you don't fit oppression anymore.

This truth is exemplified in the narrative of the Israelites under Assyrian oppression. In the book of Isaiah chapter 10, the Assyrians loom as a formidable superpower, casting a menacing shadow over the Israelites. Their modus operandi involves conquering nations and subjecting them to oppressive rule.

Eventually, the Assyrians succeed in subjugating the Israelites, yet amidst this darkness, God speaks to a remnant that will be delivered from their clutches.

I do not know what your personal "this" is, but please take heart in the knowledge that God brings a freedom that transcends all earthly constraints. Stand tall in seasons when you sense growth and expansion. Rejoice because you are anointed with supernatural "weight to break free from oppression!" Just as an ox outgrows its yoke, God anointed you to break out of what Satan sent to keep you bound. So, rejoice and declare, "I'm too fat for this because Jesus set me free!"

It was a difficult journey, but it was worth it to pursue my healing; you see, I wanted God's best for my life.

But I was inundated with doing things I thought I needed to do. They weren't necessarily wrong. They just had me on the busyness track, and self-care wasn't my priority. Despite desiring God's best for my life, I found myself entangled in a relentless cycle of obligations, neglecting my well-being.

Then came the pivotal moment—a stark medical diagnosis revealing stress, trauma-induced anxiety, atrial fibrillation, obesity, heart palpitations, anemia, abnormal electrolytes, hormonal imbalance, and acne!

Advised by my doctor to prioritize self-care, I faced a daunting regimen of prescription medications and lifestyle changes for blood pressure, anxiety, antibiotics, vitamin cocktails, pills for anemia, a therapist, nutritionists, and a 5-day workout plan.

After taking all of the medications, I decided to put up hard boundaries, turn inward, and work on myself.

Realizing that people would replace me quickly if something happened to me, I started the journey of healing from trauma, pain, and grief. I did what my doctor said and changed my habits and mindset.

I held fast to Proverbs 31:25, "She is clothed in strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future" (Prov. 31:25). I didn't want to fear my future, so doing what I had to do wasn't an option. I always knew God was with me, but I also learned that "faith without works is dead" (James 2: 17); hence, I started working out regularly. I firmly believe the anonymous quote, "Heal so you can hear what's being said without the filter of your wound." And with a 40pound weight loss, I was on the road to recovery.

Now you may wonder —have I truly healed, recovered, and experienced renewal? Without a doubt! I stand before you today, free from the shackles of medication dependency, a testament to God's healing touch. Am I recovered? Yes, and here's why.

Consider the Oxford Dictionary's definition: "return to a normal state of health mind or strength." It also means "being well again or gaining possession of something previously stolen or lost." Satan stole life from me, but in the name of Jesus, I have recovered!

And finally, am I renewed? The Bible says, "But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint" (Is. 40:31). I attest that my strength is renewed. I'm running this Christian race fiercely guarded by my Savior. And I walk securely in His care.

In closing, I offer these words to encourage: Trust God. Diligently put in the work.

Surround yourself with supportive allies on your healing journey.

As you follow His commands and put in the work, life will indeed work in your favor.

Married in her late twenties, she and her husband eventually embarked on the path of pastoring, dreaming of building a family. Yet, year after year, their longing for children remained unfulfilled. Despite her brave facade, I could see the weight of barrenness on Susan.

Then, in a divine moment of worship, something shifted. Susan's reserved demeanor melted away as she surrendered to the Holy Spirit, dancing with newfound freedom and joy. It was a dance unlike any I had ever seen her do—a dance of faith, hope, and expectation!

I knew something broke for her. As the service ended, I confided in a friend about the stirring in my spirit, sensing a breakthrough on the horizon. To my astonishment, my friend shared the same sentiment. Not long after that transformative moment, Susan was pregnant!

Oh the joy as she told her story. God moved in a miraculous way! But it didn’t stop there. God blessed Susan with three sons in quick succession—a testament to the abundance of God's grace and power. Reflecting on Susan's journey, I gleaned three invaluable lessons:

It was a Sunday morning at church, but something extraordinary unfolded before my eyes. Amidst the worship, my friend, whom we will call Susan, stood out, her praise fervent and raw, as if she were pouring her soul into God. As she raised her hands and danced unashamedly, I couldn't help but sense there was more to her story than met the eye.

1. Amid life's barren seasons, praise remains our most potent weapon.

2. Breakthrough often requires stepping out of our comfort zones and doing something we've never done before.

3. When God's timing aligns with our faith-filled actions, miracles unfold rapidly, ushering in a season of perpetual blessings.

Allow me to introduce you to an extraordinary woman, Mother Ophelia McNair. At 89 years old, she has never been hospitalized except for childbirth. A widow and mother of three, she has remained steadfast in her faith since her youth. As my aunt and a matriarch in our family, her resilience and strength make her a rocksolid pillar at the West Angeles Church of God In Christ in Los Angeles California. Her life is a

testament to the power of faith, and her wisdom is rare and genuinely inspiring. You will experience a warm, genuine smile within minutes of meeting her.

Affectionately known as Mother McNair, she deeply loves the Lord. She firmly believes in putting God first and witnessing how He tailors blessings specifically for her life. With joy in her heart, she eagerly shares her love for God with others.

God has been extraordinary to me.

Every time I look around He’s always supplying my needs.

Iv’e tried Him, had faith to believe He’d work things out, and every time He works it out!

Mother McNair passionately declares, "God is an amazing provider!"

She encourages women to trust God with all decisions regarding life, relationships, and anything else.

But don't for a moment think that Mother McNair is slowing down. On the contrary, she is an active participant of the evangelism organizations “Take it to the Streets," and "Bread of Life Ministry." She also delivers meals to four families every two

weeks. Her actions are a living example of what it means to evangelize and live out your faith in action.

Her favorite Bible verses: “Delight yourself in the Lord (Psalm 37:4); Lean not on your own understanding (Prov. 3:5-6); and The Lord is my Shepherd (Ps. 23:1).

Through life’s ebbs and flows, Mother McNair remains steadfast in her faith. And here are ten insights she wants to leave with our readers:

The Power of Cocoa At the heart of chocolate's health benefits lies cocoa, the primary ingredient derived from the cacao bean. We live in a convection oven, microwaved culture. No one wants to wait for anything. Aggressive drivers want folks to get out of their way quickly. Fast food is the trade-off for nutrition. Online shoppers choose retailers with express shipping. People prefer quick fixes, often seeking fast solutions to problems instead of waiting for a more thorough or longterm solution.

"But each one is tempted when he is drawn away By his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, It gives birth to sin; and sin, when it's full grown, Brings forth death"

But your walk with God should not be shaped by cultural norms. Drawing inspiration from Luke 21:19, we learn that by enduring, we gain life. This means patience is crucial for life, while impatience can lead to downfall. This is something we need to consider seriously.

You might wonder what can suffer from impatience.

Think about the consequences of rushing into wrong relationships, jobs, business ventures, or seemingly harmless activities that the devil uses as "destiny decoys" to derail us from God's purpose. These choices feed the impulsive part of man driven by fleshly and immediate desires. We know this because the Bible says:

Notice death doesn't happen immediately. It happens insidiously, meaning gradual, cumulative, and foremost subtle. The devil is slick! So please do not be tricked. While you may be thinking the "placeholder" you've created and the impatient decisions you've made are harmless, they have cumulative effects like cholesterol in the body. One processed cheese-loaded fast-food burger with greasy fries doesn't cause a heart attack. But years of consistently eating this way will narrow the arteries with plaque, eventually blocking blood flow. Then boom, there's a heart attack!

(James 1:14-15).

Philippians 4:6-7 says, "Be anxious for nothing." "anxious" means drawn in opposite directions or divided into parts.

When we are drawn away from waiting on the Lord, we divide ourselves into parts.

Please ask the Lord to help you become a woman who waits so He can bless you beyond measure. Imagine being so abundantly blessed that people can't help but notice and say, "It just doesn't make sense to be that blessed!"

And when they ask how you achieved such blessings, first give all the glory to God! Then say, "He did this because I waited." I encourage you to stay strong, my sisters. Wait on the Lord and watch Him work wonders.

So Shall it Be: A Consideration of the Declarative Voice of God at Work in Us

If God said it, it’s already happening.

So, when I declare it, so shall it be.

Psalm 29:3-9 ESV The voice of the LORD is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the LORD, over many waters. The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.

The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars; the LORD breaks the cedars of Lebanon.

He makes Lebanon to skip like a calf, and Sirion like a young wild ox. The voice of the LORD flashes forth flames of fire.

The voice of the LORD shakes the wilderness; the LORD shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.

The voice of the LORD makes the deer give birth and strips the forests bare, and in his temple all cry, “Glory!”

At age five, my son was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (mild/moderate). My husband and I were led to seek evaluation and support services two years prior when we noticed a regression in his usage of speech. As a psychological clinician, his diagnosis did not come as much of a surprise. But as a woman of faith, familiar with the healing power of Jesus, I must admit I found myself frustrated and grieved in my heart at its confirmation. That is until the Spirit returned to my remembrance words I’d consistently pray over my son while he was in my womb. I’d pray, “Lord, may this child have your voice. When he speaks, may everyone stand at attention and listen. May his words carry weight.

May he speak with purpose and with intent to back it up. May he grow to be a man of integrity.”

Now six years later and at the age of 11, my son speaks fluently – when he wants to (chuckles).

When he speaks, though, people listen intently and in awe as they remember the former days.

He is never arbitrary or abstract in his use of language but is intentional and direct. So those who have the privilege to hear his voice can trust the value of his message as well as his intent

to see his words fulfilled. He is also gracious enough and stubborn enough to repeat it until he believes you’ve received his message. I didn’t realize it at first, but God granted me everything I had prayed for in my son. There are many things I have learned from the gift of my son’s Autism journey, but one most critical to my witness today is the credible power in the declarative voice of God at work in us; what we declare, so shall it be.

Have you ever considered the term “be”? So often used but rarely valued for its capacity and versatility in our expression. This verb, meaning to exist, to take place or position, and to declare, think or feel, also operates as an auxiliary verb, meaning it can be “used with the present particle of another verb to form the progressive tense…or an infinitive of the principal verb to indicate future action (Merrian-Websters Dictionary)”. Simply put, be functions as a perpetual action; it is past, present, and future in tense yet has the ability to express form. “Be” is similar to the structure and role or rule of the words “is” and “am” - perpetual action. I ask that you consider this because of its connection with the voice of God. God: omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent, has a declarative voice that carries the same perpetual, potent weight. In this brief reflection, I aim to restore our trust in the credibility, intention, and longevity of God's Word, especially in the context of our lives. As proclaimed in our opening text of Psalm 29, God’s voice is present to flow and refresh, powerful to inspire awe and imaginative creativity, strong to break the system of oppression; it is a striking light to one’s pathway and a giver and taker of life.

“You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will, they were created and have their being (Rev. 4:11).” The voice of God as the expression of God’s will is not only declarative, but it is also productive (dunamis). I hold two truths about God in this context: 1. God is a present help (Psalm 46:1). 2. God is perpetually present as the one who was, is, and shall be (Revelations 1:4,8; 4:8 and Hebrews 13:8). The present help for which we speak is then a presence that shall perpetually be. Such is

evidenced in deed and established first in word.

The Bible opens as a hymnal with a rhythmic refrain, “God said, let there be...(Gen 1:3),” and whoop, there it was and is! Before the concept or system of time was established, God's word was suddenly filling voids, organizing elements, and cultivating space for things that were, are, and would be. Our soul bears witness to the perpetual potency of God’s voice. Such is why we are encouraged to walk by faith and not by sight; see, “faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17).” That faith (witness) is based on what my soul knows and echoes – the credibility and the eternally expansive authority of the voice of God is at work in me.

Thus, whichever state or season (time) of life we find ourselves know God’s Word is unbounded by earthly constraints. When the Lord speaks, agree, for so shall it be. It’s already been established by the declaration of his voice. And everything subject to God’s voice – meaning those who were designed by his pronouncements – is still compelled to respond to that timber to bring what is spoken to pass. This is what we can see amplified in our opening Psalm. Even if it must give of itself to bring the word to pass, creation will do so. When the (sound) voice reaches the ear of our heart, it must submit a response to its creator to align with the Word – “…be it unto me (Luke 1:38)”. It submits not in compulsion but freely because it trusts the Creator to sustain it for the good of them all. This is exemplified in our Lord Jesus – the Word made flesh, himself. Jesus is an expression of integrity, that length at which God is willing to go to manifest His word. To incarnate, endure the vicissitudes of life, die a criminal’s death, and resurrect for the redemption of creation is an unmatched level of integrity worthy of honor.

Therefore, walking in the declarative power of God takes a posture of honor and integrity within our own vocality. What we speak must consistently match what we declare (spoken and unspoken). Just like my son, he will speak a thing until it comes to pass.

He will even yield himself to whatever must occur to experience its manifestation; he will position himself to receive. Ephesians 3:20 concludes, “Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us….” Honor the spirit at work in you and set the atmosphere with the integrity of your word.

Speak what you wish to see and walk therein knowing that the host of heaven backs you up as a joint heir with the Son, so manifestation is already in action. No need to run or crawl; walk into it. So shall it be; be it unto me!

Our urgency cannot be compared to God’s suddenly. Waiting no longer feels stagnant when you hold in context the authority and integrity of God’s word already at work in you and begin to join in the affirmative chorus of “Glory” (Psalm 29:9).

Take this opportunity to familiarize yourself with a few of the 167 “suddenly” moments within Scripture (i.e., Isaiah 29:5; 48:3, 2 Chronicles 29:36; Matthew 4:10-11; Matthew 15:28) and reflect on the “suddenly” moments of your own life. Now when you pray, recognize that your expression of “Amen” has a three-fold meaning: it is so; it shall be, we agree!

Unveiling Dreams, Visions, & Prophecies

THE PROPHETIC PLACE:

THE LATTER RAIN IS COMING! The latter rain is coming! This is the prophetic word I heard the Lord speak to my heart one day while in prayer. But what is the significance of the latter rain? In Scripture, there are generally two rainy seasons: October to November, early or former autumn rain, and the March to April latter spring rain. In what’s called former rainy seasons, farmers start ploughing and planting seeds. Then, the latter season, which is more significant, matures crops for harvesting.

Zechariah 10:1 says, "Ask the LORD for rain in the time of the latter rain. The LORD will make flashing clouds; He will give them showers of rain, grass in the field for everyone." This passage serves as a profound reminder of God's sovereignty and care. God speaks to Judah, informing them that He, Yahweh, is their God and that He, not their idol gods, cares for them. Moreover, He brings rain to all people and plants of the field to everyone. There is also a reference to the latter rain in Deuteronomy 11: 13-15:

"And it shall be that if you earnestly obey My commandments which I command you today, to love the LORD your God and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul. Then I will give you the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil. And I will send grass in your fields for your livestock, that you may eat and be filled."

(Deut. 11:11-15 )

Notice the conditions: obedience to the Lord is paramount. Love Him, and He will graciously send the rain. Additionally, in Zechariah 10:1, we are urged by God to request His blessing of rain earnestly. Knowing this, we must avoid adopting a passive mindset that resigns to whatever will be will be. Instead, align yourself with God's word.

Seek His intervention. Then through prayer, you position yourself to receive what God desires to bestow upon you.[1] When the rain from heaven starts, no demon in hell can stop it! The anointing equips you to accomplish tasks with a sense of ease. Your prayers yield remarkable outcomes, breaking burdens. Your words hold significance as people listen. God's wisdom in you facilitates problemsolving. His anointing fosters harmony and peace in your relationships, preventing the friction of conflicts. Wherever you go, things work easily because of God's anointing.[2] 76

In conclusion, if you are experiencing drops of rain, know that it’s a precursors to the deluge! Pray and embrace the anticipation of what lies ahead prophetically: the latter rain is on the horizon! Despite enduring seasons of drought, it's time to prepare for the downpour, for it approaches swiftly! I pray that someone hears these words as I hear the sound of rain in my spirit. Stand firm. Fortify your faith and open your heart to receive. A new season of spiritual growth, divine assignments, and abundance awaits!

Keep Fighting For It! Hey Sis! I want to invite you to daydream with me for a few moments.

While your eyes are closed, imagine being in a boxing ring, and you are seconds away from fighting a highly anticipated match. You look up, and you notice something very familiar about your opponent, but you can't completely make out who it is. You hear the bell sound, and you walk toward the center of the ring. You're finally able to clearly see your opponent.

You see a reflection of yourself. You notice that the reflection you see is a better version of yourself. You notice a sense of peace, strength, confidence, boldness, style, grace, even the body you've been wanting to get back to.

You get closer to your opponent, and you hear something that shakes you to your very core. You hear yourself say: "You've Come To Fight Against Me, But I Want You To Fight For Me!" Your eyes are opened immediately, and you're back to reality just like that.

Ladies! That was some dream, wasn't it? What do you think? Can you relate? I know I can. I ask one thing of you, that you accept this article as a form of encouragement to Keep Fighting For It! Whatever your "It" is! Perhaps it's more peace, strength, confidence, and boldness. You may want to level up with your style and begin to walk into rooms gracefully knowing you belong, and let's not forget these ongoing battles with health and weight.

Too often, we make the mistake of fighting against ourselves more than we are fighting for ourselves.

We fight against ourselves by letting negative thoughts and day-to-day stuff get in the way.

Sadly, many of us tend to lean on the side of making excuses, saying things like: "I don't have enough time. I can't afford a membership to a gym."

I have too much going on with family and work to even think about myself."

"It's too late for me; I'm too old." I know firsthand what it feels like to wake up daily and choose to fight for my "It." It feels GREAT! Do I miss the mark some days? Of course, I do, but I never let missing discourage me from returning to the fight.

Sis! You are worthy of this fight! From this day forward, we will no longer fight against ourselves through the hang-up of excuses, negative thoughts about ourselves, and, at times, just pure laziness. Find a pair of the cutest boxing gloves you can and get back in the ring with a renewed mindset to Keep Fighting For It! Whatever your "it" is!

I pray that you will not let the hard days stop you from fighting. I pray that as you fight, The Lord will add to your efforts daily! I pray that you will see the fruit of your labor sooner rather than later and that those around you will be encouraged and uplifted by your example to Keep Fighting For It! In Jesus Name, Amen.

Silence, often underrated, holds a profound virtue for Christians, offering a sacred space for communion with God and listening to His still, small voice.

We've all had those moments where we could use a t-shirt that reads, "Been there, done that." What am I referring to? The times when we've spoken too much and listened too little to the Holy Spirit's nudges. Interestingly, the Bible has a lot to say about silence. Take, for instance, 1 Kings 19:12, where God meets His people in moments of silence.

Similarly, 1 Samuel 3:3-4 encourages the practice of silence, and even Jesus Himself sought out moments of silence. Then there's James 3:3-7, where the Amplified Version paints a vivid picture of the power of the tongue. It likens the tongue to a bit in a horse's mouth or a small rudder on a ship— small but immensely influential. It warns of the destructive potential of the tongue, which can set off a chain reaction of harm. The wise woman who “tames” her tongue knows when to speak, and when not to.

So, what's the takeaway here? First, silence is a profound way to connect with God that goes beyond mere words. God values silence not only as a way to commune with Him but also as a tool for us to discipline our tongues.

It's admittedly a challenge, but I encourage you to view the types of silence as opportunities to grow.

Create space for quiet moments with the Savior, and when the urge to speak too much arises, remember that silence is a reflection of Christ-like character. Yes, silence really is golden.

Notice while that child is in the womb, it can do nothing for itself. It's dependent on its mother for nutrition and survival. In the same way, there are times we are crushed under guilt, shame, sin, embarrassment, and errors. In these cases, God extends a heavenly lifeline, a way of escape to get back on our feet and live the life He's called us to.

Within the Bible, the concept of mercy is richly woven. Consider the Hebrew word chesed in Micah 6:8, which signifies unfailing love, kindness, and tenderness. Reflect on racham in Hosea 2:23, a term that encapsulates compassion, pity, and love. And ponder the Greek eleeo in Romans 9:15, a word that conveys an active desire to remove stress. These variations all point to a common thread: God's unfailing love, which is the essence of mercy.

So, whether you need mercy or need to extend it, let mercy be the melody that resonates from your soul, echoing the divine symphony of compassion and grace, for when we extend mercy, we find our truest reflection of the divine.

Imagine this: You find yourself in need of mercy. God extends His hand to you, just as He did to the woman caught in adultery, saying, “I don't condemn you. Go in peace and sin no more (see John 8:3-11).”

The key here is not just the forgiveness but the call to 'sin no more.' This is the transformative power of mercy.

SHORT FICTION To Inspire & Encourage STORIES A Day In Cindy’s Life My name is Cindy, and I want to share a short account of my day. It was a gloomy day outside, like what I felt inside. It was a day that I did not feel like getting out of bed. And I felt like quitting! I thought about the hard things I faced, and so many of them in just a short time. It's interesting how a Christian woman can deal with so much. Now I know what the Scriptures say: "Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but God delivers them from it all" (Psalm 34:19-22). But here's the problem: I had more than my share of trouble. So, today is just one of those days that I decided to chill out, pull back, and let God speak to me.

While seeking God, I read something about Jabez in 1 Chronicles 4:9-10. He was "honorable." When I searched for the original meaning, I found that the word "honorable" means much more than a good person. It implies that Jabez was "weighed down with burdens," like he had more than his share of trouble. He was likely called honorable because he did not crash under the weight of his problems. But I noticed that Jabez cried out to God. So, I decided to do the same thing because the Scriptures tell us that God answered Jabez's prayer!

Then, I revisited the Scripture about faith the size of a mustard seed. And how faith moves mountains. With my faith reignited, I grabbed ahold of that Scripture. So, I got up, washed my face, looked up to heaven, and said, "If anybody in this world's has my back, Lord You do!" Therefore, I changed my mind about quitting. Oh no, I can't stop because God's Spirit enables me to overcome. His Spirit helps me to take hell's hardest blows and bounce back like a palm tree in a storm. I now realize that I do not have to do this alone because He is my strength. All that’s needed is to trust and lean on Him. I realize that I am empowered by the "The Great Am!" Today, I continue running the race, pressing toward the mark, straining every muscle. And why, you may ask?

Because there is a table waiting for me, a table set by the Master, a place for new assignments, friends, abundance, and celebration! So, I declare that "I am more than a conqueror." I will not quit, my resolve: I've changed my mind from "quitter" to "sitter!" Yes, it's time to sit at a new table. I’m running toward the table my Father prepared for me.

And it feels so good!

GIRL, IT’S YOUR TIME! Girl, it’s time to wake up and shake things up!

God is moving things around and changing stuff.

So please stop looking around, And comparing yourself to everyone else’s crown.

And realize that the God of the universe, Has removed your frown.

He’s turned negative situations upside down.

You see, it’s daybreak and written in the Books of Heaven.

That the blessings over your life are seventy times seven.

So please, my sister, get used to winning.

Put behind you the life of continuous thinning.

Start packing your bags as promotion is on the horizon.

It’s a new season of life that’s lofty and heightened.

Get used to hearing congratulations!

Because it was God who got you out of bad situations.

Don’t forget to thank God even for the bad days, Because it was the bad days that got you to this place.

It’s a place where a heavenly smile is on your face.

So, I say to you, my sister, enjoy the ride.

Because now it’s evident that God was and is on your side.
