True freedom in Christ • People outside of the Lord Jesus live in bondage to ‘wanting to appear important.’ • The true disciple of Christ seeks only to please his Master. • All accomplishments are credited to Him alone. Thus he has nothing to prove. • How tragic is the the businessman who is driven to proving himself a star. Marketplace facts: True freedom in Christ


True freedom in Christ • But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. • No, I worked harder than all of them-yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.(I Cor.15:10)

Nothing to Lose: • When you’ve relinquished everything to Christ, you have nothing to lose. • Your reputation. Your future. Your health. Your resources. Your friendships. Your "stuff". • People who have nothing to loose control nothing. Marketplace facts: True freedom in Christ


Nothing to Lose: • The ultimate freedom is the relinquishment of all your possesses to the sovereign will of God • Have no selfish agenda.

Question: Still grasping for control? Relinquish it. • Peter said to him, We have left all we had to follow you!’ ‘I tell you the truth,’ Jesus said to them, ‘no one who has left home or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God will fail to receive many times as much in this age and, in the age to come, eternal life.’ (Lk. 18:28-30) (See Lk. 9:23,24; 14:26-33)

Nothing to Hide: • Your life is an open book; transparent and vulnerable, with no reputation to defend. • You keep no double set of books

Nothing to Hide: • Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. (Heb. 4:13) (See Gen. 3:6-11) Question: Still retain some secret closets? Open them up. Marketplace facts: True freedom in Christ


Nothing to Gain: • Your single passion in life is the Glory of God. Consequently, there is nothing to grasp; no ulterior motives and no hidden agenda. May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. Prayer Focus • Father, In the name of Jesus, I surrender myself to walk in the Word in the marketplace. Your word living in me produces the Life in this world. • The word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. It makes my way plain before me. • I boldly and confidently say that my heart is fixed and established on the solid foundation – the Living Word of God!
