Who we are & what we do
Created by a teacher & her husband with a mission to create a truly kind world. Kindness is the most basic human right we should all agree on. But kindness needs to be more than just pleasantries. We believe kindness must be rooted in justice & action. We believe in challenging one another to do better. We believe in using our voice to ignite change. And we believe in creating a more kind world.
We're on a mission to put 1 million inclusive books into the hands of kids. One tee, one book at a time. Every purchase of our impactful clothing and accessories provides an inclusive book directly to a child.

WHERE THE BOOKS WENT:
School-wide Events FREE BOOKS FOR ALL STUDENTS AT 8 SCHOOLS!
Bloom Academy in Texas was one school recipient of books for every child. Brittany, one of their directors, expressed the immense excitement each of their scholars had when they learned that they could keep their books! An elementary school in Florida celebrates Unity Day every year. This year we sent them copies of The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. This story embraces the idea that we are all talented and unique in our own way. The school focused on how everyone’s unique talents help to unify one another.

WHERE THE BOOKS WENT:
Free book fairs NO COST EVENT THAT ALLOWS EVERY CHILD TO TAKE HOME A BOOK In the past year we hosted 7 free book fairs with plans of increasing to one every month during 2024 in various elementary schools throughout Maryland.

We hosted Free Book Fairs in places other than schools as well. We hosted book fairs with Palm Beach Pride, Silver Spring Pride, a public library in Camp Verde, Arizona, Diverse Fest in Sarasota Florida, Banned Book Fair in Sarasota Florida.

Banning guns & fossil fuels TOTAL DONATIONS =
$1,648 We partnered with Here 4 the Kids, an education movement dedicated to abolition and confronting global systems of oppression, such as guns and fossil fuels, to create an equitable world for ourselves and future generations.
Together we’ve developed a line of products focused on banning guns & fossil fuels.

LGBTQ+ Rights TOTAL DONATIONS =
$5,000 +
CampOut Florida is a summer camp for LGBTQ+ youth and their allies. Along with providing books for their library, we donated to their organization thanks to your purchases of our Pride collection.
In 2023 we helped build ALSOYouth Center’s inclusive library at their new location. We were able to donate hundreds of LGBTQ+ representative books to the youth center in Manatee county Florida.

OTHER IMPACT:
Human Rights TOTAL DONATIONS =
$1,000 + Released this December... All of the proceeds from our Twinkling Lights and Human Rights design went directly go to Doctors Without Borders, a non profit organization that provides life saving care in over 70 countries around the world.
They have been supporting on the ground efforts in Gaza, Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, amongst many other places.

Reproductive Rights TOTAL DONATIONS =
$7,000 +
For 2 years running... Every purchase of our Reproductive Rights hoodies & tees put a book centered on reproductive justice and body autonomy into the hands of a child while also giving a portion of proceeds to National Network of Abortion Funds.

OTHER IMPACT:
Kindness Is Podcast 34 EPISODES ON SPREADING TRUE KINDNESS In effort to spread our message of true kindness to a broader audience, we started our own podcast! Over 20+ guests have discussed social justice, mental health, LGBTQ+ topics, disability pride, book bans, gun violence, etc. We can’t wait to continue these conversations in 2024!

Featured books of the week OVER 50 CHILDREN’S BOOKS FEATURED FROM INDEPENDENT AUTHORS
We featured 50 different authors and their incredible books this year. Each one focusing on being inclusive and shaping a more equitable way action experience.

Kindness Is Children’s Book 10,000 COPIES OF OUR BOOK TO BE DONATED! We wrote & released our very own book! After 3 years of work our cofounder Kaitlin released her very own children’s book: Kindness Is. It details a young girls journey in learning the true meaning of kindness: love, empathy, compassion, inclusion, and justice.

Educators CLEARED 10 EDUCATOR BOOK LISTS WORTH $500 EACH!
In 2023 we chose 10 educators and completely clear their book wish lists from Bookshop.org
This helps teachers to build an inclusive, robust classroom library. As we all know teachers spend a ton of money on all of their own supplies, so we try to support educators as much as possible!
