You need to ensure that the internet settings are correctly set up to fix the QB error code 12002.
1. Open Internet Explorer and go to the Gear icon to select Internet Options, and navigate to the Security section to edit the settings.

2. From the Globe icon, ensure that the security levels are not set as High and select the Never Dial a Connection option from the Connections tab.
3. Select Never Dial a Connection and checkmark the UAN settings checkbox and add the right address and port number to make sure it is displayed as 80.
4. Now, from the Advanced section, select Restore Advanced Settings, and choose the Use TLS 1.2 checkbox, followed by exiting Internet Explorer.
5. Restart Windows and rerun QuickBooks to download the payroll updates again and check if the 12002 error code is eliminated.
