KIMISOO is a Greek company, founded in Athens in 2018. The name means go to sleep in Greek, something that the founder was in much need for, while trying to get his newborn son to sleep.

Stonewashed Linen

Stonewashed linens are soft, hang beautifully and have a charming fade to the colour. This is achieved through the process of washing the fabric in large machines with pumice or volcanic stones inside that bash and tumble the fabric's fibres. Bios is woven from the world's finest French flax. The understated linen bedding is stonewashed to enhance its natural softness and tumble dried for a casually elegant look. Supple and breathable, the mid-weight linen (165gsm) offers year-round comfort in a subtly textured, yarn-dyed weave with a relaxed drape. The materials we mention as ‘sustainably sourced’ are those that are consciously produced in a more ethical or responsible manner, or that naturally have a lighter imprint on the environment. This definition is based on an assessment of the material’s full lifecycle. The majority of our sustainably sourced materials are certified and verified by third-party standards: Organic Content Standard (OCS) for organic materials, Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) and Global Recycled Standard (GRS) for recycled materials and the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) for wool.

MODAL / Introducing a more sustainable side to softness. This smooth and silky fabric is formed from natural beech wood using a process that’s self-sufficient in energy. Plus, it retains its strength wash after wash.

CUPRO / Cupro is a plant‐based material with incredible properties. It’s made from cotton linter, which are the soft fibres on the plant that are not used and usually go to waste. It’s 100% natural so the material is renewable and biodegradable, as well as soft, silky and breathable like cotton.

ECONYL / Nylon waste, otherwise polluting the Earth, is transformed into ECONYL regenerated nylon. It’s exactly the same as brand new nylon and can be recycled, recreated and remoulded again and again. That means you can create new products and buy new products without having to use new resources.

RECYCLED COTTON / Recycled cotton is made by converting both pre and post-consumer fabric into fibres that are then spun into new yarn. Pre-consumer waste comes from material by-products while postconsumer includes repurposed linens, upholstery and more.

ORGANIC COTTON / Organic cotton is a familiar fabric for most of us. It’s grown from organic seeds, which have not been genetically modified in any way. The cultivation process requires no synthetic fertilisers and soil conservation is an important part.

LINEN / Linen is a beautiful and durable material made from flax plants. Our organic linen derives from plants grown without chemical pesticides or fertilisers — better for farmers’ health and the environment. The fabric is of the same high quality as conventional linen but without any genetically modified fibres.

MICROMODAL / Micromodal is a luxuriously soft and smooth fabric with some amazing technical properties. The fabric is made from natural Beech wood fibre and keeps you feeling cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. This is because the fabric is a naturally dry environment and moves moisture away from the body. this dryness maintains the temperature control.

ALPACA / Alpaca fleece is the natural fiber harvested from an alpaca. There are two different types of alpaca fleece. The most common fleece type comes from a Huacaya. Huacaya fiber grows and looks similar to sheep wool in that the animal looks "fluffy".

SEAQUAL / Seaqual is a high quality 100% post-consumer recycled polyester yarn containing Upcycled Marine Plastic. Mixing Sequal with cotton fibres we commit to our social and environmental ethos, drawing attention to the plastic pollution of the sea.

FAIR WEAR / FairWear Foundation is an international organization that aims to improve workers’ conditions in the textile industry. Supporting us to cooperate with our suppliers, to the benefit of all workers, it carries out audits in all factories every three years.

GRS / The Global Recycle Standard (GRS) is the world’s leading standard for recycled textiles and certifies recycled materials based on environmental and social practices.

PETA / KIMISOO works with PETA-Approved Vegan companies. They do not conduct or commission any animal tests on ingredients, formulations, or finished products and none of the products contain any animal derived components.

OEKO-TEX / OEKO-TEX® is a safety standard for the assessment of harmful substances in fabrics. Its aim is to ensure products are free from harmful substances and follow REACH, the EU regulation which restricts the toxicity of chemicals and heavy metals in all consumer products.

OCS / The Organic Content Standard (OCS) verifies the presence and amount of organic material in a final product. It also tracks the flow of the raw material from its source to the final product, but does not take into account social criteria, such τas working conditions.

GOTS / The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the worldwide leading certification body for the pro duction of organic fibers and is based on both ecological and social criteria.
