ACCURACY

What if these are the good ol’ days? What if The Good in days gone by is still Good today? What if in the chaos of yesteryear AND in the chaos today there is benevolence beyond imagination? A Guidebook? A Captain? What if being deeply known by name is truly the best thing. And always has been. Grace extending, loving, pursuing. I can see The Good in the 180 degree sky in Kansas or the smell of pine needles in the place I was born. In voice memos from her far away or drinking coffee from a mug with my fingers on his prints. I can see it in the dark depths where the brightest Light can be found. In the green shoot unfurling from the dead stump; not being alone while suffering. There is a steadiness throughout, a comfort in sovereignty . . . a timelessness in knowing that it is outside of the confines of time. If you look, you can see it. There is a profound thankfulness and a hopefulness to be found. Knowing His fingerprints were all over it; nothing is out of bounds. I can see it in the eyes of a neighbor, and too can’t help but have a heart that longs to meet its Maker. What if these are the good ol’ days . . . certainly they are. My work speaks to this: As it was . . . and (still) is. And in this I am confident.

There is Great Joy to come.
