Farewell
I wish I could express the gratitude and excitement I still have for being crowned the prestigious title of the Mrs. Canada Globe 2017 – This title meant more to me than I could have ever imagined. Having the opportunity to represent not only myself but my country during the Mrs. Globe pageant humbled me and to this day fills my heart with joy. Being alongside so many like-minded women with the same initiatives makes me believe there is not only strength in numbers but strength in women who collaborate together. I used the title not only to assist my community with fundraising and charity events, but I was able to utilize it for something near and dear to my heart: the empowerment of women. As a registered nurse and a health and wellness coach, I find great fulfillment in helping women become the best version of themselves. The title gave me a platform to stand on, it allowed me to step into a leadership role I have never been in before. It gave me the strength to believe I could change lives and impact those around me with my words, with my actions and with my spirit. The Mrs. Globe organization believes beauty to be powerful, and when its accompanied by intelligence, passion, and resilience, I believe beauty really can change the world – a woman can change the world if she so chooses. To my Global sisters, you will always have a place in my heart, I will remember the magic, the laughter, and the unique personalities of every one of you. To my National director Kimberly Castle, your mentorship, your belief in me as a woman and your inspiration over the years is a thankless act. You made me believe I could be a queen and it was in my everyday hopes and dreams that I could represent Canada as you have with such professionalism and grace. To Tracy Kemble, the CEO of the Mrs. Globe organization, I can’t thank you enough for creating such a prestigious pageant centered on woman. The Mrs. Globe pageant became so much more than a beauty contest to me, and much more of a women’s retreat: where we share our journeys, learn from one another, and foster an internal love for self. Thank you for creating a brand that inspires me to be a better woman everyday. Although my year of ‘reign’ has end, I will always be Mrs. Canada Globe 2017, and will carry that title with me throughout the rest of my journey in life. I wish the next delegate all the best in her passage to this new and exciting role she will play, as the Mrs. Canada Globe 2018: it will not only change your life, it will change you into the woman you hope and dream to be one day.
