Tina Turner, the Queen of Rock 'n' Roll, whose powerful voice, and dynamic dance moves earned her the crown over a remarkable 60year career, has passed away at the age of 83.

On Wednesday, May 24, the legendary singer peacefully departed from this world after a long illness at her residence near Zurich, Switzerland, as confirmed by her publicist Bernard Doherty in a heartfelt statement.

With deep reverence, the statement read, "Tina Turner, the 'Queen of Rock 'n' Roll,' has peacefully left us today at the age of 83, after a valiant battle with illness at her home in Küsnacht near Zurich, Switzerland. The world has lost a music legend and a true role model. A private funeral ceremony will be held, attended by close friends and family. We kindly request respect for her family's privacy during this difficult time."

Tina Turner enjoyed one of the longest and most influential careers in the history of rock music. Her powerful vocals led to numerous Billboard Top 40 hits spanning four decades, earning her prestigious awards, including Grammys, a Kennedy Centre Honour, and a well-deserved place in the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame.

Renowned for her explosive performances, adorned in glittering stage attire, Tina Turner's energy was unmatched as the frontwoman of the Ike & Tina Turner Revue during the 1960s.
