Lancia Atlantic Tour of Kerry this weekend

The Lancia Motor Club of Ireland will host a two day gathering in Kerry this weekend.

The Lancia Atlantic Tour will take place over the weekend of May 5– 7will; be, based in Tralee, and is supported by AutoGlym Ireland and Contract Flooring Supplies Dublin.

Although the iconic Italian brand last officially sold cars in Ireland in 1995, there is still a small but devoted following for Lancias in Ireland of all ages – from PreWar cars to much more recent examples. Over the last few months bookings have been received from all over Ireland and further afield, including a sizeable contingent from the UK.

The main event will take place over stunning roads around the Dingle Peninsula on Saturday while Sunday will visit the North Kerry and East Kerry areas.

“Some very rare and iconic cars are set to appear at the event, from 1930’s Lancia Aprilias to the World Rally Championship dominating Delta Intergrales and many and varied cars in between, including a pair of 1950’s Lancia Aurelias, which introduced many innovations that are now common or even standard on every road car,” said local organiser Tralee-based Cork man Andrew Mulqueen.

“Lancia remain the most successful manufacturer in the World Rally Championship with 10 manufacturers titles, so it is only natural that some of Kerry’s world-famous rally stages are explored over the weekend, including Inch Beach, Conor Pass and Camp Mountain.

“Although not a competitive event the sight Fulvias, Delta Intergrales and all of the diverse range of Lancias that are booked in are relishing the chance to take on these roads, not forgetting the scenery and unique weather.”

Vintage club raise €3k for Critical Emergency Response

The Killarney Valley Classic and Vintage Club presented a cheque of €3,000 to Critical Emergency Response.

The funds were raised at a the club’s recent "Tractors and Tea" charity event in the Killarney Racecourse in March.

“We are always proud to be able to help out local charities while having a show for the public,” said club secretary Richard O Donoghue.

Meanwhile the club will launch its 2023 restoration project on May 12 at the Warehouse Café in Farranfore at 830pm.
