Pro boxer Keogh to direct Killarney course
An intensive six-week course on the fundamentals of boxing will be held at the Peak Performance Academy in Killarney from next Tuesday, April 25.
The course, which is being directed by professional fighter Darragh Keogh, will teach participants various boxing techniques with an emphasis on building strength and fitness.
Keogh has gained great experience on the boxing circuit in Australia over the past number of years. He has won several amateur titles and was crowned the Australian Gold Coast champion and North Queensland champion in 2018. He won an Australian Golden Glove Championship in 2019 and was an Australian Boxing Council Champion in 2021. He turned professional after this in July 2021 and has gone undefeated in his three fights to date, the most recent in November 2022 in a Queensland super welterweight title bout. Since his recent return to Killarney he has signed up with Elite Sports Promotions and is expected to make his Irish professional debut later this year. be available on site, and there will be a wide array of live music from 12pm on both days.
“Those completing the course should benefit from enhanced cardiovascular fitness; improved mental strength, agility and hand eye coordination; greater stress relief; and improved confidence and self-esteem,” Keogh said.
The course is open to males and females aged 18 and over at a cost of €50 per person. No previous experience is required.
