Hi! I’m Kristijan

I am a graphic designer from a small town in Southwest Michigan. I love doing brand design, but I also enjoy other types of design such as editorial and print.

I was born in the United States, but my parents are from Croatia, and I am proud of my heritage. I travel often to visit my family, but I also enjoy traveling to other countries. Some of my favorites have been Iceland and Jordan.

When I am not designing or traveling, I am very much a homebody. I like watching movies with my friends or spending time with my cat.

Crowned Logo & Shirt

Client project for Crowned Ministries. The client wanted a word-mark with the “w” in crowned doubling as a crown symbol. The logo is a custom wordmark that is based off of graffiti style lettering. The shirt design incorporates various elements from across Michigan and Chicago.

Token Design Firm Logo

Logo design for a design firm. This logo was inspired by arcade machines, hence the name Token. The “o” is a token being inserted into a machine, and also serves as a secondary mark.

Pier Realty Redesign

Redesign of the logo for Pier Realty. The redesign keeps certain key elements such as the lighthouse, sun and blue color, while improving the readability of the logo and making it more modern.

Pasta Box Design

Package design for a pasta company that caters to a young adult market. The box is meant to be colorful and stand out on a shelf. Confetti elements are all around the box, complementing the company name, Feastivity. The pattern on the box is connected when multiple boxes are put together.

Play Away Stress Ads

Guerrilla advertising project aimed at the students of Andrews University. The campaign aims to provide students with unique and fun ways to reduce stress. One location features a colorful mural, as well as swing underneath. Another element is interactive signs across the campus, where students can connect and play with each other.

Groove Typeface

Custom typeface that was originally inspired by topographic patterns.

WWF Campaign Poster

Collage-style advertisement for World Wildlife Foundation promoting a campaign to end deforestation.

AFM Magazine

Pieces from my internship at Adventist Frontier Missions. I was assigned to redesign their yearly special edition magazine. I was given creative freedom to redesign the entire 48 page magazine. The spreads are clean layouts with a square box motif across the titles of the magazine.

LUH Infographic

Infographic page for the Lake Union Herald comparing the population of major cities to the number of churches and members in those cities.

Recycling Mailer

Mailer design for Berrien County Recycling featuring icon and layout design. The front and inside of the mailer include custom icons that show what recycled material can be turned into.

Book Cover Redesigns

Redesign of the book Maniac Magee in two different styles. One design is done with a type-driven style, while the other cover is a synergy of type and image.

Ad Redesigns

Redesigns of modern ads done in the style of different historical design periods. The Gridlife ad is done in the style of constructivism while the Bakervca ad is inspired by the Beggarstaffs.

Lighthouse Collages

A small series of lighthouses using collage. 12-15 images are used per piece, using mainly architectural pieces to form the shape of the lighthouse.

Mid-Century Modern Scene

An illustration that features a color scheme and items found in the midcentury modern era.

A series of icons representing various components of a skateboard.

Expressions Of Croatia

Collection of pieces from my senior project. Each piece features a phrase in the Croatian language, and each design was made to fit on a skateboard.
