I AM KIERRA, A JUNIOR DESIGNER THAT HAS A STRONG PASSION FOR SUSTAINABLE DESIGN THAT SERVES A GREATER PURPOSE TO ITS COMMUNITY. MY PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REVOLVES AROUND AFFORDABLE, MULTI-FAMILY APARTMENT COMPLEXES. I DRAFT USING REVIT AND ENSCAPE FOR 3D MODELING AND CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTATION. CURRENTLY, I AM PURSUING MY ARCHITECT’S LICENSE AND LEED CERTIFICATIONS. ALTERNATIVE BUILDING MATERIALS HAVE BEEN A PASSION OF MINE THAT FOLLOWED ME FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF OREGON, AND HAS BEEN AT THE CORE OF MY DESIGN CHOICES EVER SINCE. MY DREAM IS TO, ONE DAY, DESIGN AND BUILD AN EARTHSHIP HOME WHERE I CAN EXPAND MY LOVE FOR RECYCLED BUILDING MATERIALS AS WELL AS MY LOVE FOR URBAN FARMING.

Kawana Springs is a 100% affordable housing project located on Kawana Springs Road in Santa Rosa California. Currently under construction, the project uses type III-A construction on a 3.7 Acre site. The project is 151 units with premium amenities featuring a community center, gym, pool and spa, play structures, dining and lounge areas with barbecues, and a fenced dog park. My role in the project was assisting in design decisions with the project team, aiding in construction document drafting with Revit/BIM, Enscape Rendering, and set organization, as well as preparing submittal packages and correspondences with consultants. I also supported the design team with Construction Administration tasks including RFI Responses, change orders, and submittal reviews.

Lago Fresca is a 50 unit complex of four buildings on a 1.3 acre site. 6 units ar reserved for low-income residents. The project amenities include a communit room with kitchenette, a landscaped bio-retention rain garden and arbor, as well as outdoor community barbecue with seating and a fountain for added ambiance. In this project, some of my responsibilities included 3D modeling in Revit and Enscape to aid in setting up submittal packages for design review. I also worked with consultants to tie key pieces of the projects together and collaborated with the design team to create vibrant living spaces within walking distance to two of the most popular parks in Santa Rosa, Howarth Par and Spring Lake Park.

SANTA ROSA.

This commercial renovation involves an interior redesign providing efficiency and beauty to an outdated building. The project features an open floor plan wi central office locations for employees, large storage spaces for equipment, a kitchenette and bathroom, site manager’s office, and a quiet learning space in t rear of the building. A large cafeteria-style kitchen is located behind a welcom reception area. The main kitchen opens to a flex-space that can be used for mee dining, or indoor recreation activities. The plan was designed to have expansive spaces for flexibility and safety for the members and staff. The elevated entry provides natural lighting and invites the building occupants into the active cen spaces. In this project, I took on a leadership role as the main designer supervi by a senior project architect. I was responsible for the design and drafting, co analysis, city submittals, client interactions, and consultant coordination.
