Block Island welcome
Block Island: a place like no other
Decades ago, Block Island was marketed as the Bermuda of the North! The catchy moniker was never forgotten. You can see why. Look at the tropical colors of the water and the sands along Block Island’s Crescent Beach. Consider the vast, sheltering New Harbor, replete with colorful boats at anchor. Notice that the town’s busiest street features unobstructed ocean views.

The comparison, however, only goes so far, because Block Island is truly unique. Hike into the preserve called Rodman’s Hollow. Ponder the grand scale of the Mohegan Bluffs. Be awed by the immensity and high perch of the Southeast Lighthouse. These are features you will not find elsewhere.
Block Island’s mix of wildlife is found nowhere else in the world. Island residents
have fought to preserve habitat for insects, birds, mollusks, flora and humans, too. Thus, you’ll find abundant clean water, open spaces and ample pretty viewsheds.
The beauty is stunning. And, there is a grand bonus Block Island offering: the restaurants, hotels and shops are a joy; they are all unique to Block Island and are here to make your trip a pleasant one. Enjoy the ocean air on the porch of the National Hotel or the Atlantic Inn. Look out over the beach from the Yellow Kittens’ deck. Shop at Green Buoy or BI Trading Company. It’s all delightful.
Whether on the beaches, in the harbors or along the winding roads, revel in your time here. You will depart with fond memories, and perhaps be back again soon!
