Low Peng Yang Violin

Low Peng Yang started learning the violin at the age of 3, and he is a student of Mr Loh Jun Hong.

He loves music and performing, In 2025, he had the opportunity to perform as soloist in the second concert of re:Sound Collective’s Prodigious series, and also performed a concerto as soloist with the Elite Soloists Ensemble.

Peng Yang has won prizes at competitions and festivals, notably the 1st prize at the 2025 National Piano and Violin Competition (NPVC) Senior category, 2nd prize at the 2023 NPVC Intermediate category, and 3rd prize at the 2019 NPVC Junior category. Other achievements including Gold (highest) awards for Singapore Raffles Music Festival in 2019 (Junior A) and 2023 (Youth), and the Platinum award for the 8th Singapore Performers Festival in 2024.

Peng Yang is currently a secondary school student at Raffles Institution (RI), where he is enrolled in the Music Elective Programme. He is the concert master of RI Strings Ensemble, which had the opportunity to perform in Hong Kong, and also achieved the Distinction award at 2025 Singapore Youth Festival (SYF).

Peng Yang likes to play the piano in his spare time, and he has achieved Distinction for his ABRSM Grade 8 practical exam.

Poom Prommmachat Steinway Artist

Born in Bangkok, Poom Prommachart is a pianist and educator. He is currently the Head of Department, Junior Music, at the School of Young Talents, and a Senior Lectuer at the School of Music, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, University of the Arts Singapore.

Poom earned his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, as well as an Artist Diploma, from the Royal College of Music, London, where he was awarded the Tagore Gold Medal by King Charles III and the Concerto Prize for his performance of Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in G minor.

He also studied at the Moscow Conservatory and completed his Doctor of Music at the University of Montreal, where he was named to the Rector’s List of Honour as the most outstanding graduate of his cohort.

His international career began with a Gold Medal at the 5th Isidor Bajić International Piano Competition in 2010, leading to performances with the Kazakhstan Philharmonic, Montevideo Philharmonic, Worthing Symphony Orchestra, Timisora Philharmonic, Thailand Philharmonic, Hong Kong Philharmonic, and others. His debut album on Champs Hill Records, featuring works by Medtner, Liszt, and Scriabin, was praised by American Record Guide for its “refined artistry and poetic insight.”

A passionate advocate of Carl Vine’s music, Poom premiered Three Fantasies with support from UOB and was praised by the composer for his “unique passion and intensity,” “formidable technical mastery,” and “sonorous serenity” in his interpretation of Piano Sonata No. 1. His recordings of works by Medtner, Scriabin, and Rachmaninoff for Champs Hill Records have been widely acclaimed internationally. Most recently, a live recording of Carl Vine’s Three Fantasies, recorded at HKMUSE, has been released

by Faber Music, London.

He has given masterclasses and research presentations at institutions including the Kazakhstan National Conservatory, Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, and the University of Hong Kong. Poom was an Elite Fellow at the University of Malaya and the first Asian piano professor appointed to the European Piano Teachers Association (EPTA), Denmark.

Most recently, Poom was awarded the 2026 Christine Ip International Faculty Award by the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore.

Dedric Wong De Li Guest Conductor

Dedric Wong De Li is Resident Conductor and one of the founders of the Ding Yi Music Company, he also serves as Music Director of the Asian Cultural Symphony Orchestra and the Nanyang Collective. A recipient of the 2014 National Arts Council Arts Scholarship, he was later recognized in 2019 as a Straits Times Scholars’ Choice and appointed as a panelist for the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth’s Singapore Youth Action Plan. Most recently, in 2024, he was honored as a Prestige 40 under 40 Artist, affirming his continued impact on Singapore’s arts and cultural landscape.

Dedric graduated with Masters in Orchestral Conducting at the China Conservatory of Music, under the tutelage of Prof Yang You Qing, with the guidance of Maestro Tsung Yeh in 2018.

He graduated from The Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) in 2007, Diploma in Music, majoring in Suona Performance. After his Graduation, He received guidance in conducting from Singapore renown Chinese music Educator, Singapore Cultural Medallion Dr. Tay Teow Kiat.

In 2015, he was selected to participate in the Singapore Chinese Orchestra Conducting Workshop led by Maestro Tsung Yeh. Following that, from 2016 to 2017, he served as a conducting fellow with the Singapore Chinese Orchestra.

In 2016, Dedric guest conducted and staged his conducting graduation recital with the China Conservatory of Music Middle School Youth Chinese Orchestra. In 2018 and 2024 he was invited to be the adjudicator of the Singapore National Chinese Music Competition and since than he has conducted various orchestra and ensemble including the Singapore Chinese Orchestra, Macao Chinese Orchestra, The China Sze Chuan Tian Zi Ensemble, Suzhou Symphony Orchestra String Ensemble, Taiwan Little Giant Chinese chamber orchestra, Hong Kong Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble, Canada Sound of Dragon Ensemble and the Singapore National Youth Chinese Orchestra.

In recent years, he has actively represented Singapore at international arts festivals across Asia, Europe, and Australia. With a strong passion for traditional Chinese music, he twice received the Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan Arts and Cultural Bursary and now serves as Vice Treasurer of the Singapore Chinese Music Federation, Vice President of the Suona and Guan Society of Singapore, and Conductor of the School of the Arts Chinese Ensemble.

Conductors Ng Boon Chai Ng Boon Chai has more than 35 years' experience performing in and conducting orchestras. He learnt the erhu in school and won first prize in the Erhu Open Category of the Third National Music Competition in 1983.

He was once member of the Singapore Broadcasting Corporation Chinese Orchestra, the People's Association Chinese Orchestra and the Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO), and has performed in Hungary, the UK and other countries as SCO's principal zhonghu player. He studied erhu at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music under sponsorship of the National Arts Council, and returned to the conservatory to study conducting in 2004 at his own expense.

He obtained the FLCM Diploma (Conducting) from the London College of Music in 2008. He has served as judge for many international Chinese music competitions, as music director cum conductor for MOE’s Youth Music Camp, and as conductor for SCO's Calf special concert and SCO's 1000-strong Millennium Concert Orchestra. He is conductor cum erhu instructor of the Chui Huay Lim Galaxy Ensemble, Chinese Orchestra conductor of many Singapore schools and music director cum resident conductor of the Southern Music and Arts Chinese Orchestra in Malaysia.

He is also an overseas disciple of Zhang Hao, an inheritor of Shanxi's intangible cultural heritage of guqin making. He is the founding president of the Singapore Intangible Cultural Heritage Association.

Jeff Wu

He graduated from the Vocal Music Department of the Xi'an Conservatory of Music in China in 1987 and remained on the faculty, serving as a lecturer in choral conducting. He graduated from the Conducting Department of the Central Conservatory of Music in China in 1992 and joined Singapore's Jiahe Music Records that same year as a music director and record producer.

In 1995, he became a senior lecturer in the Music Department of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore, concurrently conducting the choirs of Raffles Institution and Raffles Girls' School. In 1997, he became President and Music Director of Yunye Music Development Company in Singapore. In 2000, he studied at the Juilliard School in New York, USA. Returning to Singapore in 2002, he conducted numerous choirs. In 2006, he received the Compass Award for Excellence in Music, and in 2014, he received the Singapore New Immigrants Award for Outstanding Contribution. He is currently Vice President of the Singapore Musicians' Association and a Council Member of the Singapore Composers' Society.

A classical pianist since the age of nine, Fong Kai De has performed extensively both locally and abroad and has won prizes at competitions and festivals in Korea, Japan, and the United States. He holds a First-Class Honors Degree in Music Performance from the School of Contemporary Music at LASALLE College and a high Distinction for his Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music (LRSM) exam.
