AND WHO WE SERVE Beginning with our first oncology camp in 1981, Kids Cancer Alliance has given thousands of brave and amazing kids a reprieve from fighting cancer and a place where they can just be kids. Over the years, we’ve expanded to provide sibling and family programs as well as in-hospital and financial support.

As a non-profit organization, Kids Cancer Alliance relies entirely on donations and volunteers to keep our programs completely free for every kid, sibling and family. We are endorsed by Children’s Oncology Camping Association - International, Kentucky Cancer Program, Better Business Bureau and the Kentucky Nonprofit Network.

All of our programs are designed to help children with cancer and their families have enjoyable experiences, create valuable memories and enhance their quality of life.

FAMILY HIGHLIGHT ELLIE AND MORGAN HURLEY The first time Ellie was diagnosed with leukemia, she was just three years old. Her mom, Morgan, recalls the devastation of hearing the words, “Your child has cancer” as well as her confidence that Ellie would overcome. The first time Ellie began to lose her hair, the Hurley’s discovered one of Kids Cancer Alliance’s programs, Flashes of Hope, which encourages families of cancer patients to document their time in the hospital. The black and white photo of Ellie in a Cinderella dress that was taken that day now hangs in the Hurley home. “ The Flashes of Hope picture inspires me so much because she’s utterly, fiercely showing her strength. Not many 3 year olds fight her fight and remain as happy as she was.” – Morgan When Ellie was nearing her 8th birthday, she returned to the hospital with persistent and excruciating headaches and was eventually readmitted for her second leukemia diagnosis. Her bravery and optimism is often brought up when discussing this season of her life, and Ellie says the nurses she encountered at the clinic inspired her to want to become a nurse when she grows up.

The Hurleys have continued to participate in KCA programs including summer camp this past July. “ On the way to camp she was a little nervous. She was of course excited, but she hadn’t been away from family for any extended periods of time. When she got home she couldn’t wait to go back. She was, if possible, even more independent.” – Morgan Ellie has been in remission since 2019.

AUCTION RULES 1. All items in the silent auction have an associated auction number. Enter the item number into your BidPal device to bid on the item.

2. Each incremental bid amount is displayed on BidPal and constitutes a valid bid.
