ABOUT US AND WHO WE SERVE Beginning with our first oncology camp in 1981, Kids Cancer Alliance has given thousands of brave and amazing kids a reprieve from fighting cancer and a place where they can just be kids. Over the years, we’ve expanded to provide sibling and family programs as well as in-hospital and financial support.

As a non-profit organization, Kids Cancer Alliance relies entirely on donations and volunteers to keep our programs completely free for every kid, sibling and family. We are endorsed by Children’s Oncology Camp Association- International, Kentucky Cancer Program, Better Business Bureau and the Kentucky Non-profit Network.

All of our programs are designed to help children with cancer and their families have enjoyable experiences, create valuable memories and enhance their quality of life.

THE VISSE FAMILY Soon after his 12th birthday, Kaleb Visse was diagnosed with Stage 3 Burkitt’s Lymphoma, a very aggressive, fast growing cancer. His parents, Tracy and Jason, spent countless days and nights at Norton Children’s Hospital while Kaleb was undergoing treatment. At the hospital, they learned of Kids Cancer Alliance and our programs for local children with cancer and their families. “ I was first humbled by the love and generosity given to Kaleb by everyone he came into contact with at KCA. The lengths they go to accommodate people are incredible.” – Tracy The Visse family has participated in numerous Kids Cancer Alliance programs.

Flashes of Hope captured Kaleb shaving his head. Kaleb made lifelong connections at Camp. His younger brother, Mason, won a trophy for catching the largest fish at Sibling Camp. The Visse family has also participated in our Virtual Summer Camps and Family Retreats, making s’mores, tie dying bandanas, playing BINGO, and baking cookies. “ A t school, Kaleb is shy, reserved, and quiet. But when he’s with KCA friends and staff, he is outgoing, he laughs, he participates in just about everything they do! The transformation is absolutely amazing.”

– Tracy Fortunately, Kaleb has been in remission for four years. He is happy, healthy, and just started his senior year at Trinity High School.
