What is the best part of being a Mom? It’s the gift that keeps on giving. Becoming a mother has reshaped my perspective, realigned my priorities, and shifted my outlook. They are my “why” and “how” I show up each day knowing that I am inspiring, teaching and molding them. I strive to create the beautiful life, my own mom and dad created for me.
Diana Vilskaya
Children: Sofia, (11)
What has been your most challenging Mom moment so far? Time! It feels like sand slipping through my fingers. Balancing time between work, personal life, and self-care. We want to pause the clock and bottle up these moments. I think as moms we find ourselves missing the moments we’re currently living.
How do you feel about being a working Mom? It’s a reminder of the power we have as women. That we can do it all, or try at least, and be it all. It’s about giving 100% of yourself to work while at work- and to your family- while at home. Easier to say, huh?
Do you have any Spring tradition? Since my son was born, we’ve hosted an intimate easter egg hunt at our home with friends and family. With an appearance from the Easter Bunny himself, my dad.
What is a must-have children’s item in your purse? Baby Wipes! I use them for everythinggggggggg!
Profession: Family Photographer in Miami. Owner at Tulips Photography.
What is the best part of being a Mom? The best part of motherhood is experiencing childhood all over again through my child’s eyes.
What has been your most challenging Mom moment so far? The most challenging moment as a mom is watching my child grow and transform from a little girl into an independent, blossoming person — knowing those precious moments of her childhood are fleeting. It’s hard not to wish I could freeze time, keep her small a little longer, and soak in every bit of that sweetness just a moment more.
How do you feel about being a working Mom? Being a working mom can be challenging at times, especially when it comes to balancing personal life and work. The key is careful planning and organization to allocate my energy and time between the work that I love and the fleeting moments I have with my daughter. While life may often feel like a race, I make sure to prioritize maintaining quality and meeting my professional responsibilities, and the moments I share with my daughter. The challenge of balancing both roles shapes my experience as a working mom.
Do you have any Spring tradition? We celebrate Easter with great joy and always look forward to it!
What is a must-have children’s item in your purse? I don’t keep anything special in my purse, but in my car, I always try to have our bathing suits and a towel. You never know where your day may take you, and I like to keep things a little adventurous, ready for whatever comes our way. Oh, and our sweaters — with Florida’s unpredictable ACs and the heat outside, it’s always good to be prepared.
Children: Mia (12)
Mom Profession: Industrial Engineer
What is the best part of being a Mom? The best part of motherhood is the profound, unconditional love I share with Mia. Watching her grow, discovering the world, and developing into her own unique person is an extraordinary experience. Moments like her laughter, her first words, or the simple joy of seeing her dance at competitive levels often become treasured memories. In my opinion, it’s also the sense of purpose and fulfillment that comes from nurturing and shaping a life.
What has been your most challenging Mom moment so far? Some of the most challenging moments often involve navigating the uncertainties of a child’s unique journey. This could mean advocating for the right resources, therapies, or education systems, all while balancing their emotional resilience. At times, they might face societal misunderstandings or feel isolated in their experiences. Yet, these moments are often paired with immense strength, determination, and the joy of celebrating milestones—no matter how big or small.
How do you feel about being a working Mom? As a homeschooling mom, I often experience a mix of emotions. On one hand, I can have immense pride and fulfillment in directly shaping Mia’s education and being there to witness her growth, achievements, and "aha!" moments firsthand. It can also foster a closer Mom-Daughter bond and create a unique sense of freedom in tailoring the learning experience to Mia’s needs and interests.
Do you have any Spring traditions? We celebrated Easter with activities like egg hunts, feasting, and attending church services to commemorate resurrection and renewal.
What is a must-have children’s item in your purse? a small book, crayons, or a UNO set of cards. A water bottle to stay hydrated, snacks like GoGo squeez and lip balm.
Children: Jaenen (10)
Profession: I am a celebrity event and wedding designer. Founder of the award-winning Alorè Event Firm in Miami.
What is the best part of being a Mom? The best part about being a mom is seeing and experiencing the world all over again through your kids' eyes. The ability to have someone's life in your hands is one I deeply treasure and being able to watch my Son grow, thrive and practice daily all the love and characteristics we have instilled in him is the greatest joy.
What has been your most challenging Mom moment so far? The most challenging aspect f or me has been setting aside my work life to allow my family and my duties as Mom to come first. Allowing myself to enjoy the moment and truly value each day instead of worrying about outside noise was hard at first but throughout the years I have really become much more grounded and realized that being present is what is most important in your children's lives.
How do you feel about being a working Mom? I have the words most incredible husband who is not only an RN, but also an incredible business partner; not just in life but in work. We balance our family needs and our work schedules as business owners have allowed for our Son to be a part of many of our business endeavors since he was born. I’m proud to be a working Mom who has instilled in her Son powerful pillars for a successful life; such as punctuality, responsibility and most important gratitude.
Do you have any Spring tradition? Spring is my all-time favorite time of the year! Growing up my family always went to church and then hosted a yearly Easter Picnic which included great food, decorations, lawn games and of course an egg hunt. As a Mother now I try as much as I can to honor those same traditions that brought me so much happiness as a child.
What is a must-have children’s item in your purse? I always have ChapStick, alcohol wipes, Neosporin, band aids and a dry snack. I do however try to strictly focus on organic products and toxic free ingredients.

Personalized Nutrition: Tailoring Your Diet for Better Health
We all know eating healthy is important, but did you know that the best diet for you might be different from someone else’s? That’s where personalized nutrition comes in. It’s about adjusting your diet to fit your own health needs, lifestyle, and even your genes.
Maybe you’ve tried different diets in the past, but they didn’t quite work.
Personalized nutrition can help you create a plan that’s just right for you, whether it’s to help with a health condition, give you more energy, or just make you feel better overall.
Why Is Personalized Nutrition Important?
Not all diets work for everyone. We all have different health problems,
how our bodies use food. For example, someone with diabetes might need to watch their sugar, while someone with high blood pressure may need to avoid too much salt. By personalizing your diet, you can better manage your health and reduce the risk of serious problems like heart disease or diabetes.
Who Can Benefit from Personalized Nutrition?
Personalized nutrition is great for anyone, but it’s especially helpful if you have health challenges like diabetes, high blood pressure, or high cholesterol. It’s also beneficial for anyone who wants to feel better, whether it’s having more energy, improving your mood, or just staying healthier. People of all ages—kids, teens, and adults—can benefit from a diet made for them.
“Personalized nutrition is more than just what you eat—it’s about understanding what your body needs to feel its best. When we focus on our unique needs, we can make healthy choices that last a lifetime.” — Gloria Cabral, Nutritionist at
How to Start Your Personalized Nutrition Journey
1Set Your Health Goals: Whether it’s losing weight, improving your heart health, or getting more energy, figure out what you want to achieve.
2
Talk to a Professional: A dietitian or nutritionist can help you create a plan that fits your needs, especially if you have a health condition.
3Track Your Food: Keep a record of what you eat to see what you might need to change.
4Start Small: You don’t need to make big changes all at once. Start by adding more fruits and veggies, choosing whole grains, and eating less processed food.
5Stick With It: Small changes, if done regularly, can really make a difference in how you feel.
At Care Resource, we’re here to help you make the best choices for your health. Whether you’re managing a health condition or just want to feel your best, we’re here to guide you every step of the way. Visit www.careresource to get more information.

As parents, we strive to provide our children with love, security, and the tools they need to live happy, healthy lives. But one of the most powerful influences on their emotional well-being is something we often overlook—our words.
Verbal interactions, whether positive or negative, shape the very foundation of a child’s inner voice and emotional health. Encouragement and validation build resilience and confidence, while harsh words and criticism can leave lasting emotional wounds.
The Hidden Dangers of Negative Language
You may have heard children referred to as “sponges.” This is because they absorb the world around them, including the words spoken to them, especially by caregivers. Research shows that verbal abuse—yelling, belittling, constant criticism, or dismissing emotions—can have effects similar to physical abuse. The results?
• Low self-esteem and/or negative self perception
• Anxiety and depression
• Difficulty forming healthy relationships
Many parents don’t intend to cause harm but may fall into frustration-based communication patterns. Statements like “Stop crying, it’s not a big deal” or “Why can’t you be more like your sister?” may seem minor in the heat of the moment but can teach children that their feelings don’t matter or that their worth is conditional. Children raised with verbal harshness often struggle with trust, communication, and selfexpression in adulthood.
The Transformative Power of Positive Language
Just as words can wound, they can also heal and uplift! Conscious parenting means choosing language that makes your children feel seen, heard, and valued. Here are some examples of ways you can practice shifting your language:
Replace criticism with encouragement.
• Instead of “You never listen,” try saying, “I see you’re having a hard time focusing. Let’s figure it out together.”
• Replace “You’re being bad,” with “That wasn’t the best choice, but I know you can do better.”
Validate emotions rather than dismiss them.
• “I understand you’re upset. It’s totally okay to feel that way.”
• “I see you’re frustrated. Let’s take a deep breath and talk about it.”
Use confidence-building words.
• “I love watching you try new things.”
• “I’m so proud of you for working hard.”
• “You are kind, smart, and important.”
Apologize when necessary.
• Parents are not perfect. Modeling accountability teaches children to take responsibility for their words and actions, and that it’s normal and acceptable to make mistakes.
• “I shouldn’t have yelled. I’m sorry. I’ll do better next time.”
The words we use to communicate with our children today become the very stories our children carry with them into adulthood. When we choose love, patience, and encouragement, we help them develop an inner - and outervoice that speaks with kindness rather than criticism. We help them become confident, loving and secure adults.
Conscious parenting isn’t about perfection— it’s about awareness. Every moment is an opportunity to change the narrative, ensuring our children grow up with the confidence and strength to face life’s challenges with resilience and self-worth.
Let’s make every word count. k

As a parent, you want the best for your child – ensuring their health, confidence, and overall well-being is a top priority. When it comes to dental care, especially orthodontics, many parents find themselves navigating a maze of information, some of which can be misleading. In this article, we’ll debunk common myths about orthodontic treatment for young kids and provide factual insights that can guide your decisions.
the specific dental issues, orthodontists offer various solutions, including clear aligners (like Invisalign), retainers, and other appliances. These options can be less visible and more comfortable, especially for younger kids who may be self conscious about their appearance.
on general dental health and may not have the specialized training to identify all orthodontic problems. Visiting an orthodontist regularly during the growth stages after 7 years old, is crucial to monitor your child's airway, jaws and teeth development. You want to make sure all teeth are present and developing correctly, the jaws are growing in harmony with tooth sizes and the facial esthetics, and the airway is ample enough to allow for appropriate breathing patterns.
Myth 1: Orthodontics is Only Necessary during Adolescence
* Fact: Early orthodontic intervention can be beneficial for many children. The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) recommends that children have their first orthodontic evaluation by age 7. At this age, an orthodontist can identify potential issues with tooth alignment, jaw growth, and bite problems that may not be easily noticeable in younger children. Early treatment can prevent harmful trauma to the front teeth, improve the way your child breathes, and also simplify future orthodontic care and prevent more serious problems down the road.
* Fact: Not every child will require braces or orthodontic treatment. Each child's dental development is unique, and many factors can influence the necessity for braces, including genetics, dental hygiene, and habits like thumb sucking. Regular dental check-ups will help identify whether treatment is necessary and the ideal timing for it.
* Fact: While routine dental checkups are essential for maintaining oral health, they may not always catch orthodontic issues. Dentists often focus
* Fact: Placing the braces is absolutely painless. We only prepare the teeth to bond the brackets onto them, then harden the glue with a blue light. After the brackets are in place, we place the wires and the journey begins! Just like after a tough day at the gym, the teeth will be uncomfortable for the next one or two days, but just sore. The same discomfort is felt whether we use braces or Invisalign, the difference is the way the appliances are felt in the mouth. Braces may be more uncomfortable if they rub on the cheeks, while aligners are more smooth to the tongue and cheeks.
Myth 6: All orthodontic treatments take 2 years to complete.
* Fact: All children are different, and orthodontic treatment should be customized to each child's needs, therefore, not all have the same treatment
There are some children that finish treatment earlier than a year and some that take longer, it depends upon com pliance and the complexity of the case.
Myth 7: All orthodontic treatments are the same and we should have a "straight smile."
* Fact: Every single orthodontic treatment requires careful attention to esthetics and function. All faces are not equal and all teeth are shaped differently. A straight smile can be detrimental to facial esthetics. It is preferred to pay attention to smile arc
