EATING OUT IN ENSCHEDE

Enschede has many options where you can go out for a nice meal. As a student, you obviously don’t always have sufficient financial means. Fortunately, there are many restaurants that offer a dish of the day. This way you can still have a nice meal with friends for little money. But if you want to go on a fancy date, there are, of course, options as well! Hereby an overview of the lovely places in Enschede to enjoy a bite to eat.

Something Simple

De Beiaard

Small menu with excellent pub dishes. Fries that will make you come back and recommend a specific special beer with each dish.

De Waaier

The student restaurant (called the Mensa) is located in the Waaier building. The restaurant is open from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm, where you can eat a daily menu for only €4.85.

Lunch

Bagels & Beans

They have super tasty bagels with many different toppings. Also very nice to enjoy a cup of coffee with a piece of cake.

Broodbode

The Broodbode is a well-known trendy place to have lunch. Especially Saturday during lunchtime a buzzing place! They offer affordable, richly filled home-baked buns.

De Fusting

At this location between Campus and Enschede Centre, you can order a dish of the week for little money in a cosy atmosphere.

De Kater

De Kater is a household name in Enschede. They have an extensive menu, with something for everyone and a dish of the day including a small appetiser for just over ten Euros.

SamSam

SamSam is a very cool restaurant with an extensive menu, including nice vegetarian options. The mini desserts are a recommendation and plenty of little sweets from which you can choose more than one.

Café Bij Flip

Bij Flip is a nice eatery on the Oude Markt with a musical theme. They serve a delicious and quick lunch, surprising dinner, a varied dish of the day and creative appetisers.

A concept in several cities. Delicious three-course meal for a fixed price. The menu changes several times a year so every season a new reason to go.

El Gaucho

This is the best place in Enschede to eat spareribs. The meat literally falls off the bone. This is also the place to be for other meat specialties.

Carlina’s

An authentic South American restaurant. Here you can order a culinary trip with all kinds of different snacks served in three courses.
