The Holy Quran Allah has promised to those among you who believe and do good works that He will surely make them Successors in the earth, as He made Successors from among those who were before them; and that He will surely establish for them their religion which He has chosen for them; and that He will surely give them in exchange security and peace after their fear: They will worship Me, and they will not associate anything with Me. Then whoso is ungrateful after that, they will be the rebellious.[24:56] English Translation by Maulvi Sher Ali (ra)

Hadith Beware, there will be no prophet or messenger between Jesus, the son of Mary (i.e. the Promised Messiahas), and me (i.e. the Holy Prophetsa). Remember, he shall be my Sucessor for my people after me.

Remember, he will kill the Anti-Christ, break the Cross, abolish the collection of Jizya (tax collected from the non-Muslim citizens of a Muslim state under certain conditions), as there would no longer be any (religious) war. Remember, whoever meets him should convey my greetings to him. (Tibraani) (Basics of Religious Education Edition fifth P. 133)

WRITINGS OF THE PROMISED MESSIAH(AS)

The world cannot accept me because I am not of the world, but those whose nature has been invested with a portion of the other world accept me and will continue to accept me. He who turns away from me turns away from Him Who has sent me, and he who establishes a relationship with me, establishes a relationship with Him from Whom I have come. I hold a lamp in my hand. He who comes to me will surely partake of its light, but he who turns away, out of suspicion and ill-will, will be cast into the darkness. I am the citadel of security for this age.

He who enters in it will become secure against thieves, robbers and wild beasts. (Essence of Islam volume 4 pp.276-277 )

FRIDAY SERMONS

Matrimonial Alliances and Issues 3rd March 2017 

In his Friday Sermon on 3rd March 2017, Huzur (aba) said that the matters of finding marriage partners and different matrimonial issues cause restlessness in homes. Due to this, the children also move away from the right path. Sometimes, the marriages of ladies are delayed due to education and sometimes, in the name of rights in these countries, women are given wrong advice by their friends. Huzur (aba) said even some girls coming from Pakistan fall into these errors. Such problems, even more so, are also found in men. The reason is that people don’t follow the Islamic command of always saying the simple, plain truth.



Mistakes are committed on both sides which causes trouble and has a negative impact on children. Huzur (aba) said that sometimes there are wrong expectations such as of material things and parents get excessively involved in these matters. Sometimes, women are wrongly taunted for reasons such as her appearance or due to her employment. A long list of complaints comes out containing only petty matters.



In summary, it is because of moving away from one’s faith and getting attracted to worldly things. It is imperative to find a solution of this from our faith. We have promised to give precedence to our faith over worldly matters. The Holy Prophet (sa) has advised us to especially practice this in matters of marriage. He said that instead of relying upon family status, wealth or beauty, you should prefer a faithful woman.



We also have Istikhara prayer in this regard meaning asking Allah for goodness before deciding for a marriage proposal. We should always ponder upon the verses of Nikah which enjoins Taqwa, righteousness, looking after the relatives and always speaking the plain truth.



The Promised Messiah (as) has also said that family status shouldn’t be looked upon in marriages, rather one should look at Taqwa. It is true that one should consider Kufw meaning compatibility. Huzur (aba) said that if a compatible and righteous marriage proposal exists within one’s family, then it should be preferred.

However, this is not mandatory. Similarly, as per the instructions of the Holy Prophet (sa), it is allowed to see the woman before marriage and visit her household. However, there should not be any vein talk and the matter shouldn’t be prolonged unnecessarily. Women shouldn’t be given any emotional pain.



Sometimes, the matter of the man having a separate house becomes an issue. If it is due to financial condition or any legitimate reason, then women should show patience. The Islamic teaching is that, barring any legitimate excuse, the newlywed couple should have a separate house.



Hazrat Khalifatul-Masih I (ra) said that the Quran has instructed men should live with them in a good manner. Even if you see weaknesses in women, you should show patience.



Then some issues occur due to man’s wish of second marriage. This should only be done when there is a legitimate need. To do this to merely fulfil your desires is absolutely wrong.



May Allah guide all Ahmadis to approach these matters with faith and righteousness and may they stay away from worldly attractions.



The Workings of Missionaries and Office Holders 10 March 2017 

By the grace of Allah, our Jamia’at are established in different countries where Missionaries are being prepared. These are people who have dedicated themselves for faith and have fulfilled the promise of giving faith priority over worldly affairs. The need for Missionaries is constantly rising; therefore parents, especially parents of Waqf-e-Nau children, should prepare their children for this purpose. Our international Jamia are now established in Ghana, India, Pakistan, Canada, Germany, UK and Indonesia. All Waqf-e-Nau boys should try to go to Jamia and become a Missionary.



Sometimes, it is seen that Missionaries and office bearers do not fully cooperate with each other and do not give each other the due respect. Missionaries should remember that they must be obedient to the person over them and must display exemplary obedience. Presidents and Umura should also respect the Missionaries and work in cooperation and counsel with them. Our eventual goal is the same; to spiritually reform the members of Jama’at, to join them with Khilafat and spread oneness of God in this world.



The Promised Messiah (as) has said that no Jama’at can truly become a Jama’at until the stronger ones help the weaker ones. Missionaries and Office bearers should work with this spirit in mind. If internal cooperation is missing, Satan causes much restlessness in that Jama’at. These issues are very rare, but I’m explaining them so that Missionaries and office bearers are clear regarding these issues. They have to do educational and moral training of Jama’at together with humility.



Respecting Waqifeen in Jama’at would make it easier to get future missionaries. Even though Allah turns people towards waqf, but this is part of human nature. If the youth see the Waqifeen being respected in Jama’at, they will also be drawn towards this. You should greet every Jama’at member with respect as was the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (saw). You should consider Jama’at work as an honor for yourself and try to fulfill the expectations of the Khalifa of the time. Similarly, you should try to promptly resolve the matters of members of Jama’at, so that they do not feel neglected. They should be informed if there is a delay for any reason.



The Holy Prophet (saw) once said that just rulers will be beloved of God on the Day of Judgment and unjust rulers will be far from His grace. Therefore, you should fulfill your responsibilities with Taqwa and humility.

If anyone complains against you, you should have the courage to listen and self-reflect whether or not you have that weakness. Similarly, members of Jama’at should also increase themselves in righteousness, so that they are blessed with righteous office bearers.



At the end, Huzur (aba) prayed that may we all work for the sake of pleasure of Allah and fulfill the wishes of the Promised Messiah (as). The Promised Messiah (as) has said that God wants that He should make you into such a Jama’at that you become a model of righteousness and virtue for the entire world. May Allah help us in transforming ourselves according to these instructions. Ameen

Extremism and Persecution of Ahmadis 17 March 2017 

These days we see that the right wing parties are rising in the Western World. The analysts blame the immigration policies of the left wing parties for this rise. Muslims are also blamed for their lack of integration in western societies and for following their faith. Ridiculous statements are made that minarets of mosques or hijab of Muslim women present a danger to us. However, they are true in saying that extremism does exist in many Muslim countries and Muslims can be blamed for this. However, it should be remembered that these extremist groups often receive weapons and support from Western countries.



Muslims have always been harmed due to their own weaknesses and forgetting the teachings of Islam.

They haven’t accepted the Imam of this age. Not only did they not believe in him, they are actively opposing him and his community in every country. This had been happening for a long time in Pakistan Now even in Algeria, Ahmadis are being heavily persecuted. Over 200 people have been jailed.

These people should ponder over their conditions and see if they are following teachings of Islam. If their scholars really were servants of Islam, would Islam be so defamed today? Has Allah asked us to spread faith by force? Of course not. We see one sector of Muslims that have been radicalized by extremism and the other sector of general public and politicians, who due to worldly reasons, do not oppose these views and tend to agree with them. All of them are far from Islam and are only Muslims by name.



Ahmadis bear a huge responsibility at this time.We are opposed by both the extremists in Islam and by those who are far from religion in Western nations. We follow the Islamic teachings, safeguard our faith and spread Islam’s message with wisdom. Allah guides us in the Holy Quran: “Call towards the way of your Lord with wisdom and goodly exhortation.” We need to give Islam’s message with wisdom; however this doesn’t mean that we even agree with principles against Islam. We must denounce everything denounced by Islamic teachings. We should remember that today it is only our community that can defend Islam in a unified manner. Wherever there is opposition, there is also great potential for Tabligh. Therefore we shouldn’t be afraid; rather we should multiply our efforts at this time.



The Promised Messiah (as) says that to safeguard Islam and propagate its message, it is important that first you show yourself to be a true Muslim and then spread its teachings. May Allah enable all of us to become true Muslims and among those who safeguard Islam.



At the end, Huzur said he would lead the funeral prayers of Maulana Hakeem Muhammad Din Sahib, Mukarram Fazal Ilahi Sahib, and Mukarram Ibrahim bin Abdullah Sahib.

The Promised Messiah and Mahdi (as) 24 March 2017 

March 23 is a historical day for us as Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani (as) laid the foundation of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at on this day. He said that I am the same Messiah and Mahdi foretold by the Holy Prophet (sa). He said that God wants to bring all righteous souls in this world towards true Tauheed or Unity of God and I have been sent for this reason. Then he said that I have been granted this status due to my love of the Holy Prophet (sa). He said that there is no Messenger and intercessor for humanity now except the Holy Prophet (sa). This is our belief.



Despite this, Muslims are carrying out many atrocities against Ahmadis, even against women and children.

May Allah safeguard all Ahmadis and may Allah enable Muslims to accept the Messiah and Imam Mahdi who was sent for the revival of Islam.



The Promised Messiah (as) had great pain and anguish to call people to one true God. He once said: How unfortunate, indeed, is the man who does not even know that he has a God with power over all things! Our Paradise, indeed, is our God: our highest enjoyment is in God, for we have seen Him and found all beauty in Him. This treasure is worth having, even if at the cost of one's life; and this is a jewel worth procuring even if obtainable only by sacrificing one's entire being. O ye that are devoid, run to this spring, for it will quench your thirst. It is the spring of life that shall save you. What am I to do, and how should I impress this glad tiding upon your mind, with what drum should I go crying through the streets that this is your God, so that all should hear!



Huzoor (aba) said that the Promised Messiah (as) has repeatedly said that he attained this status due to his love for the Holy Prophet (sa). For example, the Promised Messiah (as) said: If I wasn’t from the Ummah or people of the Holy Prophet (sa) and did not follow him, then even if my good deeds had been equal to the mountains of this world, I would not have received this status of communion with Allah.



Huzoor (aba) also explained other instances of love of the Holy Prophet (sa) from the life of the Promised Messiah (as). Huzoor (aba) says that those who still raise this allegation against the Promised Messiah (as) are ignorant. Their matter is now with Allah.

Another important purpose of the Promised Messiah (as) was to instill in hearts the love and sympathy for all mankind. He also included this in the conditions of Bai’at. For example, he said: There are two parts of religion or two main goals .First is to recognize God and to love him; second purpose is to spend all your abilities to love and serve the creation of God.



Huzoor (aba) said that may Allah enable all Muslims to accept the Promised Messiah (as). The renaissance of Islam and the victory of Islam are decreed with the Jama’at of the Promised Messiah (as). The incidents which we are seeing these days (example: London attack) clearly show how the scholars of Islam have damaged the face of Islam. Now, it is our responsibility to defend Islam. Our Jama’at cannot be harmed from their opposition, no matter how severe it is.



The Promised Messiah (as) says: The third century from today will not have completed when all those who had been waiting for Jesus, both Muslims and Christians will despair of his coming and entertaining misgivings shall give up their belief and there will be only one Faith in the world and one preceptor. I came only to sow the seed. That seed has been sown by my hands. It will now grow and blossom forth and none dare retard its growth



May Allah enable us to become fruitful branches of this tree sown by the Promised Messiah (as). Ameen.

New Plymouth Quran Exhibition

Alhamdulillah, Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya NZ organised a Tabligh trip to the town of New Plymouth, located in the Taranaki district of NZ. This is part of our Tabligh in small towns initiative. The highlight was the hosting of a Quran exhibition to the locals while also organising multiple other Tabligh activities. Below is a summarised report: Trip dates: 10-12 Feb 2017. Holy Quran Exhibition held on 11 Feb 2017. Qafla of 13 Khuddam and assisted by 5 Ansar and 8 Lajna.

Key Achievements 1.

45 visitors to the Quran Exhibition held at Fitzroy Community Hall. There was a display of Holy Quran translated in over 50 languages, display boards of selected verses of the Holy Quran with explanations and short seminars.

2. 23 books taken by guests from Quran Exhibition Books Stall.

3. 30 visitors attended/engaged in conversation at a Bookstall held at nearby Flea Market.

4. 10 books including copy of Quran (Maori translation) donated to city’s Puke Ariki Library.

Another two packs total 20 books due to be donated to other libraries in city.

6. A total of 700 peace message leaflets distributed on 12 Feb 2017.

Event attended by New Plymouth Mayor Neil Holdom and a copies of the Quran (Maori and English translations given).

8. 3 seminars on the topic Quran and terrorism by Murabbi Shafiq ur Rehman and Murabbi Mustenser Qamar 9. Meet A Muslim initiative– a team carried out interviews on the street with locals 10. Media Coverage: a.

Event announcement on local radio on Friday morning a day before the event.

b. Event coverage and article on Taranaki Daily News which has an estimated 65,000 online readers and a total of 16000 hard copy printed. c.

Event advertisement on Neighbourly.co.nz.

d. 2 x news paper advertisements on mid week and daily local news papers.

Alhamdulillah, the trip was a great success in terms of reaching out to the locals with the message of True Islam and removing misconceptions. There was positive response from all attendees at the Holy Quran exhibition and book stall, especially in appreciating the efforts in translating the Quran into Te Reo Maori.
