Handbook for working life

Employee handbook

Dear

Our workplace benchmarks

Our ambition is for our workplace to be characterised by three benchmarks: integrity, humanity and cocreation, which, in a completely natural way, impact our daily and working life.

In short, this means that we conduct ourselves with integrity, have a fundamental belief in people and look forward to creating something together that is bigger than ourselves.

decency

Sund & Bælt has come into being to link country with country and people with people. With care and respect, we design, develop and operate largescale infrastructure projects for the benefit of the current and coming generations.

Sund & Bælt

You can’t see it with the naked eye if you look at a map, but there is a straight line from the Storebælt link across the Øresund Bridge through the Fehmarnbelt Tunnel via the Kattegat link and to the Harbour Tunnel in Copenhagen.

All are enormous pieces of infrastructure and Sund & Bælt has been responsible for their construction and financial viability. It is also responsible for ensuring that the environment is not harmed by the construction and that the links are continually maintained. In other words, Sund & Bælt builds, operates and maintains the bridges, tunnels and roads that connect us.

Sund & Bælt has extensive experience with major construction projects while continuing to innovate. This is what makes our organisation unique.

The typical way to build infrastructure is to see it as an isolated project. It is built and then the organisation is shut down. Our business runs like a shipyard. Once the shipyard is built, you build the first ship and then use the same format to build the next. Looking at projects in this way, reduces risks and costs. It’s a new way of thinking

One might be tempted to think that this approach requires a large organisation, but this is not the case. Sund & Bælt aims to build a core of internal expertise that can be used in the various project phases and across the projects that the organisation is either investigating, building or operating.

Our value chain

Sund & Bælt delivers the largest user-paid infrastructure projects in Denmark.

We deliver them efficiently and sustainably. We ensure that they can be financed through user payment and guarantees from the Danish state in all phases of each project, from planning to operation and maintenance. The various phases of our projects make up our value chain.

Our competencies lie in financing, planning, design, constructing, operating and maintaining our infrastructure and charging toll fees. We support an approach whereby our core competencies interact with each other, and synergies can be exploited. This ensures that we work effectively and that risks are reduced.

Focus on your development

Sund & Bælt wants to engender a sense of well-being and create exciting and motivating opportunities for everyone.

We strive for you to have interesting and challenging tasks, roles and responsibility and that you experience continuous personal development.

We offer a variety of opportunities for professional development, specialising in new areas, more responsibility and promotions.

Sund & Bælt wants to have the right employees in the right places at the right time – which is why we constantly maintain an overview of the skills and expertise we require. If you want to try another position, you might find that your wishes match a need elsewhere in the organisation.

If you want to try something new, we hope you'll start by looking at the possibilities within Sund & Bælt before looking outside the organisation. We have many exciting projects and assignments that might be the right fit for you.

As part of this development, you have a PDD, Personal Development Dialogue, with your immediate manager every quarter.

This is an opportunity for you to talk about your well-being and your development and agree on your development focus, your PDD sprint, for the next couple of months.

In this way, you and your line manager are continually focused on your development and well-being.

Always feel free to have a chat with your manager or contact an HR Business Partner.
