From the Desk of Maria Pearson Cheers to the new year! Thank you everyone for your patience during the past Medicare AEP (Annual Enrollment Period) season. Last year was challenging for us with our office move in September to 1020 Gemini Lane, Suite 100, in West Lafayette coupled with Henriott Group’s branding change to HGI Solutions. Going forward, our hope is that our clients will recognize the address of our wonderful new location in West Lafayette and will affiliate HGI Solutions with Henriott Group — we are still the same company! I have a fantastic Medicare team to support me and many of you may have spoken to Marlyn or Wendy during AEP about your Part D Prescription Plan review. We all work together as a team to complete plan reviews and to serve you. I appreciate how respectful and kind many of you were to our great team at HGI Solutions!

A Note on Prescription Plans Social Security has been sending letters regarding deductions of old Part D Prescription Plans ending and new Part D Prescription plans beginning. Unfortunately, the letters are not always clear in how the information is stated, which causes a lot of stress for people believing their Prescription Plan is ending. The letter from Social Security is just part of their process. If you changed to a new Prescription Plan for 2024, keep in mind you will receive correspondence of the old Prescription Plan ending. Also, by now, you should have received your new Prescription Plan card. If you did not change your Prescription Plan for 2024, your plan will rollover with the premium rate for the new year. As a reminder, it is not necessary to sign paperwork each year to stay enrolled in Medicare. Paperwork is only needed for plan changes.

Premium Deductions Through Social Security If you have automatic premium Plan deductions from your Social Security benefit, please note – Social Security is behind in January premium deductions for some people. For February, Social Security should be withholding two premium deductions. You’ll want to keep an eye on this if you are a person impacted.

Dental & Vision We do understand that making the right decision about your benefit needs is important to you. If you are wanting Individual Dental and/or Vision, the best time to enroll is January through September.

Dental • BEFORE choosing a dental plan, if you have a preferred dentist, please contact them to confirm if they are contracted through a specific carrier. • When enrolling in Dental, please keep in mind that the effective date will begin generally the 1st of the following month.
