LV Exotic Plaza Indonesia | 2020 Pandemic or not, Louis Vuitton’s annual exhibition of their exotic line must go on. This year’s venue was considerably smaller in area compared to last year, but in its stead a concept not any less grand. With a vision of making an enchanted forest inside a store, we magically transformed the space with lush greens and ambient violet lighting for the dramatics. For this project, we made portable structures for the vertical garden, which itself was a combination of real plants, preserved moss and artificial plants.

The artificial vertical garden was made in our workshop and the rest are installed on site.

Seedlings of the Islands Ritz Carlton | 2018 Larchstudio was selected as one of the 10 designers to have our own showcase. I was the one appointed to do the project. Our first idea was to make a interesting garden in a human eye level. The interesting part came about seeing a floating pot and knowing that we haven’t seen those in the market. For the base, we created a shelving structure where we mound the soil and moss. The floating pots were filled with seeds from each province, creating the feeling of sitting in a cozy backyard and looking at the beautiful native flora of Indonesia.

TYWedding Cijeruk | 2020 | In collaboration with Florebastille For this intimate wedding in a private owned villa, the client wanted the akad and brunch venues to be filled with trees and erasing the gap between being indoor and outdoor. We designed the brunch tent to have transclucent walls and made a spacious layout to support social distancing. The hanging natural umbrellas of ketapang tree were installed to give shade, also to create a shadow play. Pule tree, rosemary and lovegrass with splashes of colorful flowers were the amin three component of this wedding.

TheGreenhouse Ritz Carlton | 2018 | In collaboration with: Kezia Karin Studio, Viro Build Highlighting the fluidity of the woven rattan, we took part of designing a unique bench that accomodates two potted trees with an open system for maintenance purposes. We also provided the softscape with exotic palms, multicolord bromeliads to compliment the woven flowers and moss hills.

WeddingExpo Kebayoran Baru | 2019 This was Larch Decor’s first public event: a chance to showcase our unique style, and to gain people’s trust as a wedding decorator. We were given the main area of the event which was the pelaminan.

Our challenge was to make one unlike the usual style we see in weddings nowadays. Since our target are young couples, we decided to make a fresh look with playful layered shapes with different colors and textures. Also since we originated from a landscape based design, we use mostly green plants with just a touch of flowers. Rattan peacock chairs were also used to give it a casual but comfy feel.

Engagement Kebayoran Baru | 2020 For this engagement ceremony, the client wanted a green leaf decor with minimal flowers. We used big tropical leafs to make a pattern on the backdrop, also to frame the doors and on the railings of the staircase. Because it was a javanese engagement, we also included ronce melati as accents on the crystal chandelier and the green spots. On the tables, moss centerpieces with geometric twifs, candles, and amimajus flowers. We covered the big colums in the middle of the room with pandan leaves, potted plants are also placed on the corners to further elevate the room.

Huntstreet Pacific Place | 2019 In this event, the brand huntstreet needs an installation to support their exhibition of designer recycled dresses. Located in a spacious hallway, we used columns connected with fabric to create a sense of being in an enclosed space without feeling cramped. With the concept of reuse and recycle in mind, we used simple materials like unused curtains, pipes, burlap fabric and rope. The fresh cut flowers are intended to wilt and brown during the course of the event, which was 3 weeks. After the event, all of the retrieved materials were able to be reused in various projects.

make your own story Senayan City | 2018

We were given a slot for a 3 x 3 m2 installation in Lazada’s Lazwowfest with no concept, so we’re free to make anything. The main idea was to make an interactive photobooth of an absurd situation of people and things covered by greens. The clean white backdrop was chosen to contrast the main installation. Along the process, there were required product placements and gifts from the sponsor to be distributed, thus we created an instagram challenge to take a picture of them being in the installation and make their most interesting story in the caption.

Ransiki Launch Plaza Indonesia | 2019 To commemorate the launch of Pipiltin’s new line of papuan chocolate called Ransiki, the client wanted to recreate a jungle inside the venue. A photo backdrop with huge tropical leafs of monstera and palms became the focal point. Other than that, a stage backdrop with dynamically placed leafs, a tree to hang little notes of wishes from visitors, also potted plants to bring corners into life.

Basque Kuningan | 2018 Throughout the year, Basque has appointed us as their event decorator. In March, a geometric structure with moving LED lights for their anniversary. In July, we created the summer hawaiian vibe with bamboo huts with tropical leaves and plants. During haloween, we made an altar from orange colored flowers for the day of the dead themed night.

CorknScrew Senayan | 2018 With a beautiful golf range view and a gorgeous building by architect Andra Matin, we were tasked to fill in the landscape inbetween. We planted a fern garden in one planter and a fernbromelia garden with added pule trees in the other. Furthermore The existing trees are decorated with hanging plants. The signage at the front are full with ferns, rocks, and mini palms. Originally the lawn was planted with grass, however it didn’t grow well becuase of the shade from the trees. The client then decided to replace the whole lawn with artificial grass.

HEI School Senayan | 2020 The only project I was assigned as Larchstudio this year, because the project had a limited budget and very short timeframe and I was the only one with experience of building a preschool playground.

Referencing from scandinavian, simple playgrounds, I used bright colored wood for the swing, slide and stepping blocks, also made hills made of steel plate and covered with thick artificial grass. Around the playgorund, I used rubber flooring to cover the cemented ground.

Matahouse Kebayoran Baru | 2018 This was a whole project containing softscape, hardscape and interior work for a preschool. Interior wise, we designed a reception area, making a custom bench with storage space underneath and a small house structure with custom shelving, desk and shoe rack inside. Inside, we covered a column in the middle of a room with wood, making it look like a tree. For the hardscape, the client wanted a custom playground made of wood, but combined with plastic slides. On the ground, a mini race track from rubber flooring and grass. We planted tall banana palms as fence to induce the feeling of privacy from the neighboring building and the road. IWe also planted plumbago flowers and climbing thunbergia plant by the pool. A sand box with herbs and miniatures was also included to decorate the corner.

SeribuRasa Bekasi | 2018 The restaurant had a beautiful outdoor lawn that can be used as a venue for events. We planted ketapang trees to give a comfortable shade and a tree with yellow flowers in the middle. As a border, red flower merak tree with giant crinum on the parking lot and a combination of lovegrass and sausage plants on the lawn. On the entrance garden, we planted plumeria trees, a giant bromelia, cycas palms, and russelia to mimic falling water. We also planted water lotus on the pond and banana palm along the walkway..

LotusHouse Cipete | 2018 This beautiful house offered a nice sanctuary in a strategic location of the city. To give the it a final push, we were given the job to finish the house with greens. With falling leekwanyew from the facade and pool area, it softens the sharp edges of the bricks. We also planted tropical taro leaves and banana palms in the front yard and inner court. A yucca tree stands at the corner of the pool area as a statement.

Dua Bintaro | 2019 The bare rooftop needed greeneries and some shade, so we built big planters to fit ketapang and walisongo trees and put plants on corners and edges of the rooftop

Cilandak House Cilandak | 2019

For a spacious house with existing trees and plants that were too precious to be taken out, the client still wanted a new look as they were getting bored with the scenery. We planted new grass, built new pathways, changed the shrubs, also provided plants in pots and trimming services to make the house feel fresh.
