I'm Khalista, a recent graduate with a Bachelor 's degree in Architecture from Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) in Surabaya. My fascination with architecture predates my undergraduate journey; I've long been captivated by the interplay between space and light, as well as its profound impact on the finer aspects of our ever yday lives. In tandem with my academic pursuits, I've actively participated in internships and volunteered within various organizations and committees on occasion. This dynamic engagement has endowed me with the ability to adapt to a wide array of work environments and has instilled in me the confidence to initiate and effectively present innovative ideas.

Kebangsren Village is one of the many kampongs in the Tunjungan Quadrilateral that has ser ved as a silent witness to the rise and fall of Surabaya since the independence era. Nowadays, the kampongs in this area face a problem that continues to overshadow their lives on a daily basis, namely how the quality of life in this area continues to decline along with the swift flow of globalisation accompanied by climate fluctuations that increasingly feel suffocating with each passing day.

The winds primarily originate from the east and west directions. There are opportunities for creating openings with var ying levels of enclosure, particularly with greater height options on the eastern and western sides. The site lacks natural shading, allowing direct sunlight and heat to penetrate it, causing shadows to form mainly toward the southwest. There is a consideration for implementing surface design that filters and regulates solar heat on the southwestern side.

In the social context of Tunjungan, the absence of flooding but the presence of sewers at the threshold reflects a community focused on effective water management. The scorching sun prevalent in the region influences daily life and activities, shaping local routines and adaptations. The lack of wind in the open fields impact outdoor leisure. The Pendopo and Field ser ving as nodes signify the importance of community gatherings and events, fostering a strong sense of collective identity and social interaction. Moreover, the influx of merchants from the surrounding community indicates Tunjungan's role as a commercial and cultural hub, contributing to its unique and vibrant social fabric.

“Safe Haven” Location Site Area Function Type Project
: Saltivka, Kharkiv : 100.000 sqm : Makeshift Apartment : Adaptive-Reuse, Residential, Neutral Zone : Acamedic, Conceptual
Saltivka in Ukraine was one of the most heavily war-torn areas and was also a residential settlement. Many residents chose to stay rather than flee and stand their ground against Russian forces, unfortunately this decision created an unsafe environment for the elderly, women and children, causing many to seek shelter and food in the metro system. The condition of this war zone could hypothetically build a scenario where a safe haven is needed, not only for the Ukrainians but also for the Russians, but this premise brings a lot of additional discourse into the state of the building it's going to present. Will it be fair ?

Its mass is one of the most noticeable part of this apartment, The 36 m building towers over its site (1), making it noticable from a couple blocks away. Its shape reflects the spirit of modernism , The green area placed in the middle of each complex further creates contrast scale and solid-void (2) relation between the building and its surrounding. The circulation is also easy to navigate, different events inside the open space could be identified easily (3).

Saltivka sits on Kharkiv’s northeast flank, the area closest to Russian troops deployed a few miles away. Designed as a settlement district for a third of the city ’s population. Many had quit their homes but not the neighborhood. The last stop on Kharkiv’s metro line, Heroiv Pratsi, now houses about 800 people. Sleeping arrangements are improvisator y and cover ever y spare space in the turnstiles, stairs, platforms and subway carriages. Some tr y for a level of privacy and bring tents, or set up bunkbeds with covers draped over them, or fashion a cove in a subway carriage. There are fledgling attempts at creating a home: a few Lego, a stuffed animal and toys arrayed on a carriage window frame.
Le Corbusier Geometry From the section, ever ything was aligned horizontally, ever y program and distinction, from differentiation of duration to age, to make clear path for activity it provides. The use of horizontal programming also further entangle the city actvity and the ground level fast paced activity. “Tèngghu Buku” Location Site Area Function Type Project
: Bangkalan, Madura : 300 sqm : Public Library : Public Facilities : Competition, Conceptual
East Java is one of Indonesia's least literate provinces, especially in Bangkalan district. One domestic reason for poor reading is a strong oral culture. It is believed that this is due to the number of Islamic boarding schools, where learning styles are oral due to the extensive use of Arabic. The external factor of low interest in literacy, in addition to not being as visually stimulating, is also not as instantaneous as technology, now accessible to all groups. The lack of access to books and childfriendly libraries to help build a culture from childhood is also speculated. Therefore, while maintaining the cultural values of Madura itself, the design speculates on the existence of a sensually stimulating library for children and young people.

Although the site is ver y close to the city square, the noise present tend to be only at the intersection because of the nature of the site is in the middle of residential areas. The site is also surrounded by small commercial areas such as shops, billiard, and internet cafes that are often used by students when allowed to go out. The wind tends to blow the highest from the east and the heat present on the site tends to be at 30 degrees.

The concept of 'Smart-Locality ', where the design utilises the material resources of wood, weaving and space configuration from the locality of the residents, increases sensor y stimulation through visual facades, exposes circulation to increase interest in the building and the presence of an indoor playscape, presents the presence of a sensually stimulating librar y for children and young people while maintaining the cultural values of Madura itself. Tandhean Lanjang is a typical Madurese configuration applied to the design, where the courtyard is used as a gathering space and becomes the starting point for massing and compartmentalisation by function, as the building typography has certain spatial qualities within each room.

“Permanent Camp Complex” Location Site Area Function Type Project
: Bintuni, West Papua : 80.000 sqm : Residence and Amenities : Masterplan Complex : Conceptual, On Progress
The Permanent Camp Complex is located three kilometres from Bintuni and serves as a working site for an Oil and Drilling Rigging Company. The aim of this project is to create a residential complex that not only accommodates employees, but also enhances their well-being by promoting healthy lifestyles and stimulating an engaged community through the design of post-work facilities. In addition, the project embraces the concept of retreating into nature, despite the difficulties and logistical challenges of the site.
35
36
N The residential complex for oil and rig personnel is located in a forest leasehold area, which presents challenges with regards to nature conser vation, nearby water bodies, soil characteristics and site contours. The overall climate is quite hospitable with dense vegetation crowning. Invasive animals, such as gnat mosquitoes, big lizards, and crocodiles, also disrupt personnel safety on site. All these factors were taken into account during the zoning process.
