3D-LABS A heat exchanger is a device that is used to transfer thermal energy between two or more fluids. In most application, it involves heating or cooling of a fluid stream and evaporation or condensation of another and in some applications, it involves in recovering or rejecting heat. In a few heat exchangers fluids that are exchanging heat are in direct contact, in most heat exchangers the fluids are separated by a heat transfer surface and ideally, they do not mix with each other.
