Message from Mr. James, Head of Secondary

As we are now fully into Term 3, I would like to take this opportunity to remind you of some important events coming. This week, on Wednesday 10th May, we have our last Academic Review Day for Grade 6 to 9 students. Meetings will begin at 8:00am and finish at 5:00pm, with a break from 12:30pm-1:30pm. Each student has been issued with an appointment sheet and will be responsible for scheduling appointments with each of their subject teachers. Each time slot consists of five minutes. Please stick to this - if you need more time, speak to teachers in advance so they can plan accordingly as this will help ensure parents are not waiting too long for appointments

This event provides an opportunity for you to meet with your child's teachers and discuss their academic progress throughout the year. We believe that open communication between parents, teachers, and students is essential for academic success. Academic Review Day provides a platform to discuss your child's strengths and areas for improvement, identify any challenges they may be facing, and collaborate on strategies to support their learning It is important that your child attends this event with you as it allows them to take ownership of their learning journey and participate in the discussion. This will enable them to better understand their academic strengths and weaknesses and work with their teachers and parents to improve their performance. We understand that your child's education is a partnership between home and school, and we believe that working together is the key to their success Therefore, we encourage you to attend this event and take advantage of the opportunity to meet with your child's teachers, ask questions, and learn more about their progress. Please also note that lessons will not take place on this day.

Finally, as the AS and A2 students begin their final exams, it's important to acknowledge the dedication and hard work that they have put in over the course of their studies. These exams represent the culmination of their efforts, and I'm confident that they will perform to the best of their abilities. It's normal to feel nervous and anxious during this time, but it's important to remember that they have the support of their teachers and peers, and that they have prepared extensively for this moment I wish them all the best of luck and hope that they are able to showcase their knowledge and skills to the best of their abilities

Uniform

As a school, we have high expectations for our students in terms of academic performance, behaviour, and appearance. One aspect of appearance that we take very seriously is the wearing of school uniform. Uniform plays an important role in creating a sense of unity and pride amongst our students, as well as promoting a positive and professional image of our school in the community. It also helps to remove any distractions that may arise from students wearing inappropriate clothing, and allows our teachers to focus on delivering the best possible education to our students

We expect all students to adhere to the school's Uniform Policy, including wearing black shoes; crocs are not allowed. Students who are not wearing the correct uniform may be asked to change and parents may be called to bring in the correct uniform for their children. Hoodies are not allowed to be worn in school and students will be asked to remove them School jackets are available in the Uniform Shop

Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring that your child follows our school's Uniform Policy. We believe that it is an essential aspect of our school culture and helps to promote the high standards that we expect from all our students.
