LEADERSHIP MONROE TOUCHES DOWN IN D.C.
On March 28, a 10-member delegation from Leadership Monroe County’s Class XXX completed the first half of a two-day advocacy mission in the nation’s capital. Following a reception at the Florida House, the group met with representatives from FEMA as well as the offices of Sen. Rick Scott and Rep. John H. Rutherford. A tour of the Capitol rounded out a day of discussion on crucial challenges facing the Keys, including hardening of infrastructure, solutions for workforce housing, Everglades restoration and the lived reality of governments and individuals recovering in disaster areas.
