To all Coral Shores, Marathon, Key West, Basilica, CFK Academy & Somerset Island Prep graduates! Congratulations

Four years ago, you walked through our doors as freshmen; uncertain, curious and full of potential. Today, you stand on the threshold of something remarkable. You are ready!
The years that brought you here were not always easy. You navigated challenges that tested your resilience, persevered through moments of doubt and showed up for each other in ways that made this school proud. You did not simply survive, you grew.
As you accept your diplomas and step into the next chapter, I want you to carry a few things with you: the courage to pursue what sets your heart on fire, the humility to keep learning long after the last bell has rung and the kindness to lift others as you rise.
The world is waiting for what only you can offer. Go meet it boldly. Don’t forget to share your success with us.
On behalf of the faculty and staff, congratulations, Class of 2026. It has been our greatest honor to walk alongside you. Go Canes!

PRINCIPAL CHRISTINE PAUL
Dear Marathon High School Class of 2026,
I have had the truly unique privilege of watching so many of you grow from your earliest days at Stanley Switlik Elementary, through middle school, and now to this incredible moment as graduates of Marathon High School. To have been part of your journey across so many years is something I will always cherish, and I am filled with genuine love and pride for each of you.
The Class of 2026 stands out not only for what you have accomplished, but for who you are. From thrilling athletic victories, including a four-time state gold medalist, to nearly all students completing accelerated coursework with eight who have earned Associate of Arts degrees from the College of the Florida Keys, you have demonstrated excellence, focus, and determination. Beyond academics, you have fully embraced your school community through athletics, fine arts, leadership and service. You showed up, you contributed and you created a culture defined by pride, inclusion and heart.
What I admire most is your resilience. You faced challenges, pushed through obstacles and continued to grow stronger with each step. You supported one another, held yourselves to high expectations and never lost sight of your goals. That strength of character will carry you far beyond these walls.
As you move forward, continue to lead, stay engaged and be the ones who step up and make a difference. Carry your experiences, your values and your Dolphin pride with you wherever you go.
Thank you for allowing me to be part of your story. Please remember that no matter where life takes you, you will forever be part of the Dolphin family, and we will always be proud of you. Congratulations, Class of 2026. I am so proud of you and can’t wait to see all you will accomplish.
Go Fins!
Sincerely,

Cla of 2026!

To the Key West High School Senior Class of 2026, It has been one of the greatest honors and privileges of my career to serve as your principal. I am filled with immense Conch Pride as I reflect on all that you have accomplished during your time at Key West High School. The Class of 2026 is truly extraordinary, and each of you has left a lasting impact on our school that will not be forgotten.
Your academic achievements, athletic successes, artistic talents, and commitment to service have made our campus and community stronger. Whether in the classroom, on the field, on the stage, or through your involvement in clubs and organizations, you have demonstrated resilience, determination, and heart. I have no doubt that incredible opportunities and successes await you, as long as you continue to believe in yourselves, work hard, and remain committed to your goals. Graduation is not only a celebration of your accomplishments, but also a time to recognize those who have supported you along the way. To your parents, families, teachers, staff, coaches, and mentors – thank you for the guidance, encouragement, and infinite support you have provided. Your influence has helped shape these students into the remarkable individuals they are today. Seniors, take time to appreciate the connections you have built with one another. The friendships formed here are powerful and enduring. Having experienced this myself as a proud graduate of Key West High School, I can attest that the bonds you share will continue long after you leave this campus. Through challenges and triumphs alike, you have stood by one another—carry that spirit forward into the future.
As you step into this next chapter – whether continuing your education, entering the workforce, serving others, or exploring new paths – remember to hold close the values of Conch PRIDE: perseverance, respect, integrity, dedication, and excellence. These values will guide you as you navigate life beyond high school and help you make a meaningful difference in the world.

PRINCIPAL DR. JA-RONIKA VELDHEER
CFK Academy Class of 2026: A Remarkable Duo,
It is with great pride and heartfelt admiration that I congratulate you both on reaching this remarkable milestone. This year’s graduating class is uniquely special, not because of its size, but because of the incredible individuals within it. As a class of two, you have demonstrated that impact is not measured by numbers, but by character, perseverance and the legacy you leave behind.
Emily and Jarrett, each of you has contributed something truly meaningful to our school community. You have supported one another, grown through challenges and carried yourselves with resilience and determination. In a setting where you were often called to lead, adapt and stand confidently in your individuality, you rose to the occasion with grace and strength.
As you move forward into your next chapter, I encourage you to continue embracing who you are. Take the lessons you’ve learned here, about perseverance, integrity and connection, and allow them to guide your journey. Your paths may differ, but each will be filled with opportunity and purpose if you remain true to yourselves.
Please know that you will always have a place here, and we will be cheering you on every step of the way. I am incredibly proud of both of you and excited to see all that you will accomplish.
Congratulations, Emily and Jarrett. Your future is bright, and it belongs to you.

PRESIDENT ROBERT WRIGHT
“To take ownership of each individual’s Catholic faith.” I wrote those words into our school mission statement when you were just five years old. Now, as you stand at the threshold of a new chapter, I find myself returning to that same invitation, because it has always been more than words. It has been a way of life we have tried, together, to learn.
As I sit before the Blessed Sacrament, I am filled with a joy that no recognition or achievement could ever match. That joy is rooted in what I have witnessed in you: moments of quiet faith, of sincerity, and of choosing Christ in ways that are often unseen but deeply real.
The mission of the Basilica School has never been simply about gaining knowledge. It has always been about growth, the formation of the whole person and the cultivation of virtue. It is about remaining rooted in God so that His will may be accomplished in our lives. Everything else, when detached from that purpose, ultimately proves to be vanity.
Years ago, when you left eighth grade, I spoke to you about mediocrity. I told you then what I still believe now: mediocrity is not simply a weakness, it is a temptation that draws us away from the fullness of who we are called to be. And in that sense, it is something we must resist. That is why the words of St. John Paul II remain so urgent and so personal: “Do not be afraid. Do not be satisfied with mediocrity. Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.”
To “go deep” is not easy. It requires courage to move beyond comfort, beyond surface-level living, and beyond what is merely adequate. It requires trust that God has something greater prepared for you than what you could design on your own. And yet, this is exactly what your formation has been preparing you for: a life not of shallow accomplishment, but of depth—depth of character, depth of faith, depth of love.
The world will continue to offer you many definitions of success. It will encourage you to measure your life by productivity, status, or recognition. I do not discourage you from working hard or building something meaningful in this world. On the contrary, I hope you do so with excellence and integrity.
But I ask you not to settle there. Because if Christ is not at the center, even success becomes a kind of emptiness. And if Christ is at the center, even ordinary life becomes extraordinary.
You are now being sent forth to continue your education, to begin careers, to form families, God willing, and to take your place in the world. In all of this, remember: your deepest identity is not defined by what you achieve, but by who you belong to.
Stay close to Jesus. Abide in Him. Return to Him again and again, especially in the Eucharist, where He continues to give Himself completely to you. Do not be afraid. Do not be satisfied with mediocrity. Put out into the deep.
It has been my privilege to walk with you in these years, and my hope for you remains simple and sincere:
Love Jesus. He loves you.
Robert Wright President, Basilica High School
