TO THE CORAL SHORES HIGH SCHOOL
CLASS OF 2022 PRINCIPAL LAURA LIETAERT
Wow! What a whirlwind of a year. We started off still in Covid land and mostly worked our way out of it. At the beginning of the year we had face masks and social distancing precautions to follow. The struggles you faced have made you stronger. Here we are in the spring with the traditional State of the Hurricanes, Prom and a real live pep rally in the gym! Our athletic teams have won at district, regional and state levels. The Hurricanes are back! You are the leaders we need in sports, academics, clubs and in life. Coral Shores is proud of all of your accomplishments and all that is yet to come. You are strong. You are ready. We will always be here to cheer you on and support you in your future endeavors. Cross that stage and go out into the world, take advantage of opportunities that come your way, and work hard when you find your purpose and passion. You’ve got this! Go Canes! DEAR
CLASS OF 2022 PRINCIPAL WENDY McPHERSON
Your first day of your senior year began with a sunrise breakfast and then a leisurely stroll infused with style and panache into the courtyard for your début. Your début set the tone for the school year as you entered wearing your gold crowns, carrying your spirit shakers and at least two five-foot dolphins. Your year was full of just a little bit “more”: more school spirit, more dress up days, more door decorating contests. Your class reinstated the student spirit section at football games, brought to life the outside pep rallies, and resurrected high school field day, which of course you won. As a group, you hung together, experiencing the tears and laughter that only a senior year can bring. You will be known as the class that persevered. You persevered and brought our traditions back. You persevered to finish 13 years of school when it would have been easier to give up. And you persevered to find your next step, be it a university, college, a trade school, military branch, or the workforce. On behalf of the Marathon High School faculty and staff, I wish you the best!
Well done, Dr. Wendy McPherson Marathon High School

CONGRATULATIONS, KEY WEST HIGH SCHOOL
CLASS OF 2022 STAFF AND COMMUNITY PRINCIPAL LARRY SCHMIEGEL
The Monroe County School District’s mission and vision is Charting the Course to Excellence and today marks a significant date in YOUR history – as you begin charting a new course as a 2022 Key West High School graduate and alumnus. This year’s graduating class of 301 Conchs is an accomplished class academically, artistically and athletically. They are also a truly gritty class, which will undoubtedly serve them well throughout life. Their sense of school spirit is contagious! They did not allow adversity to hold them back – they stood strong with the wind to their faces and forged ahead together! As your principal, I could not be more proud of your collective accomplishments. Because of your many voices and positive actions, we managed to return to the long-standing traditions that past students were accustomed to, while bringing much needed joy to our entire school community. You endured under the most adverse of circumstances and NEVER gave up. You demonstrated courage through a time of overwhelming obstacles and you persevered. Keep going Conchs! I would like to thank and pay tribute to our families and community for their unwavering support of our students and staff. Educating our youth takes a village, a CONCH village! Remember, we rise as ONE, rise as CONCHS! Wherever you go from here, go with all your heart! Be bold, be courageous, be YOUR best! Congratulations to the Key West High School Class of 2022. Best of wishes, Larry Schmiegel Key West High School
