What is a State Tested Nurse Aide?

The STNA certificate is taught based on the curriculum set forth by the Ohio Department of Health. STNAs work under the supervision of a licensed nurse. They will work with the nurse and the therapists to meet the needs of the geriatric client.

They learn how aging affects the body, common disorders and needs of the geriatric population and how to provide safe, quality, personal care as well as receive the satisfaction of knowing that they make a difference is someone’s life. They are truly the frontline caregiver for the elderly population receiving care in a nursing home.
