I am delighted to welcome you to this year’s Keystone Rugby lunch. This sell out event includes a great line up and we are fortunate to welcome along two of the greatest halfback’s of all time, Justin Marshall and George Gregan.

With tomorrow’s Bledisloe Cup, and the Rugby World Cup almost upon us, there is definitely rugby fever in the air. I am sure Justin, George and Andrew will share their insights into what could lie ahead.

Before we settle in we must acknowledge what draws us together today. Although supporting outstanding students’ tertiary education through financial contributions is at the heart of what we do, the valuable wrap-around pastoral care, including mentoring and networking, is what sets us apart from the rest.

As promised last year, the Trust has embarked on a campaign for growth and I am pleased to report that the effects are already being felt. We have welcomed eight new sponsors to the family, and increased our scholarship offering to fourteen for 2016. This means more worthy young people getting the opportunity to achieve their potential through tertiary education, preparing them to positively influence and benefit New Zealand’s property and construction community.

Our achievements could not have happened without the support of our sponsor family. I would like to draw your attention to the group of sponsors and supporters that feature in this programme. Their unwavering dedication and passion for Keystone has ensured we remain a primary source for scholarship funding in our sector. On behalf of the Trust, Thank you. Andrew Mulligan

He can’t stay away and we can’t get enough!

Andrew is once again fronting the Keystone Rugby Lunch.

He’s a familiar face as co-presenter of Prime TV’s ‘The Crowd Goes Wild’, Radio Sports ‘Crowd Goes Wild Breakfast’ and is commentator for the New Zealand Breakers. Andrew will keep us on task and entertained throughout today’s afternoon of rugby.

Guest speaker: Justin Marshall Justin was captain of the All Blacks in 1997 and ranks as New Zealand’s most capped (81 tests) and highest scoring (24 trys) half back. He made his debut in 1995 against France and ended his career 10 years later with a series sweep over the British and Irish Lions. He won five Super Rugby titles with the Crusaders, playing 105 games for the franchise.

Guest speaker: George

Gregan

George made his first appearance for the Wallabies in 1994 and when he retired from international rugby in 2007 he held the record for most test caps with 139 appearances. He played Super Rugby for the ACT Brumbies since the inception of the competition in 1996.

In June 2004 George was appointed to the Order of Australia for his services to Rugby Union Football and in particular, as the Captain of the Wallabies.
