We have invested considerable time into our future direction and how we will achieve our strategic objectives. We value the commitment made by our current industry partners and supporters, and now seek more partners to join us to support the young property stars of tomorrow.

Over those years we have never lost sight of our purpose, which is to provide an open door for our students, support them through their tertiary journey and assist them as they go on to achieve their dream careers in property. By taking a stake in their future success, we have realised many opportunities to change lives and equip people for a bright future in the world of property. As a charitable trust, our funding comes from the generosity of our sponsors, assistance from supporters and our wellmanaged investments. We have now assisted over 130 students and awarded over $1.6 million of scholarship funding.

Each year we receive applications from many more deserving students than we can currently fund. As a result, our vision is to significantly increase the number of students we are able to support.

STRONG FOUNDATIONS Keystone Trust was built on the legacy of Graeme Bringans, a Kiwi property developer who, throughout his career, had been a strong advocate of promoting opportunities for young people to enter the property industry particularly those whose family, financial or other circumstances were such that their paths might be blocked. His dream was to establish a trust dedicated to helping such young people find their pathways into one of the many aspects of the industry.

Graeme died suddenly at the age of 48 and, upon his death, his widow Binty and a group of close friends and colleagues resolved to make his dream a reality. The Graeme Bringans Property Education Trust was created by Trust Deed on 25th October 1994. Together, the founding Trustees raised the capital and established the structures to allow the Trust to offer scholarships to students in a wide range of property related disciplines. Later renamed the Keystone New Zealand Property Education Trust, the scholarship programme has gained significant industry support and student take-up.

The windows of opportunity that have opened from one piece of paper I saw in high school have been astounding. My journey has been an incredible one, from my early days as an intern at Bayleys, progressing to their youngest franchise owner when I was just twenty three. Then followed a seven-year stint as the Commercial Director at Majid All Futtaim in Dubai, my career has moved pretty fast. More recently

I have been with Lend Lease in Sydney as their National Operations Manager, Urban Regeneration. Moving now into 2016, I have come full circle, as I take up the role as Director – Retail/Office and Operations back here at Bayleys. THE KEYSTONE FOUNDATION The Keystone Foundation has been established to manage the capital assets of the Keystone Trust and to target further long term capital to support the activities of Keystone Trust. The Keystone Foundation is governed by Guardians approved by the Trust. The Foundation’s objective is to raise the capital base from its current $1.6million to $5million over a period of ten years. Funds managed by the Keystone Foundation will be applied to meet the charitable purposes of the Keystone Trust as recommended by the Trustees of the Keystone Trust from time to time.

DONATIONS This is an opportunity to support the work of Keystone Trust by contributing to the Keystone Foundation, with the assurance of a well governed and managed funding structure focused on protecting and growing the capital assets available to fund the Keystone Trust’s charitable purposes. Donations to the Keystone Foundation will be recognised on the Keystone Trust website and annually in its electronic publication. Friends will be invited to Keystone events and you have the assurance that your gift will be helping to support the education of New Zealand property’s future leaders.

BEQUESTS A gift which might make a real difference is not always possible during a lifetime because of current obligations and commitments. However, including a legacy in your Will may offer the opportunity to make a difference to future generations in our industry. Gifts and bequests can be targeted into the Keystone Foundation’s capital investment fund, to create a long term sustainable income stream to support the Keystone Trust.
